"Then next ti, you cannot break your promise again." He spoke softly, slightly lifting his chin, his dark phoenix eyes deeply gazing at Daniel Harris, who stood a few steps away, with a shadow flashing in his eyes.

Just now, seeing Daniel carrying Mabel down the mountain, he was jealous and even wanted to destroy this man.

That scene was like the painting he had once seen at the Harris garden, except the people in the painting were them twelve years ago.

Daniel Harris, not far away, seed to sense sothing, his brow furrowing slightly, as if his gaze t Kyle Kinston’s.

Kyle Kinston lowered his eyelids, no longer looking at Daniel Harris.

Childhood ties, so what, no matter how deep, he would cut them off.

He wanted her heart to no longer be concerned with any other man—besides him!

————

Mabel Quinn and Kyle Kinston first went to the village’s only small inn, after all, both had been busy on the mountain all night and were rather dirty, especially Kyle Kinston. If he went straight back to J City in that state, he would likely end up on the front page of the news.

Mrs. Harris wrapped a coat around Daniel Harris, holding him and crying, all the night’s worries now turning into tears. Back then, facing her husband’s infidelity, she could leave decisively, but she couldn’t let go of this only son.

Later, she returned to the Harris Family, more for her son’s sake, wanting to help him regain everything that belonged to him.

"Mom, I’m sorry for making you worry," Daniel Harris said. His montary impulse had caused such pain and sadness to his mother, sothing he hadn’t anticipated.

Or perhaps it should be said that these days, he had been imrsed solely in his own pain, neglecting those around him. This ti up the mountain and the various conversations with Mabel Quinn made him realize many things.

"You know I’ll worry, so don’t do such things again in the future. What would I do if sothing really happened to you?" Mrs. Harris said, choking with emotion.

Daniel Harris reached out and touched his mother’s face, his fingers wiping away the falling tears. "I won’t do such impulsive things again in the future. Also, Mom, I’ve decided to have the eye surgery."

"What?" Mrs. Harris was taken aback, "You’re willing to have the surgery?"

"Yes, I want to have the surgery. If I undergo the surgery, maybe in the future, I’ll have a chance, even if this so-called future, this so-called chance, is very slim. But if I don’t have the surgery, then I won’t even have the slightest chance," Daniel Harris said. On the mountain, when she was injured, when she had a fever, when she needed help, he could only stand there stupidly, unable to provide her any help, only becoming a burden.

So, he decided to have the surgery, willing to gamble even if there was only a 50% chance.

Alice Conley and Dorian Howards also went with Mabel Quinn and Kyle Kinston to the small inn, but Dorian Howards only booked two rooms, one for Kyle Kinston and Mabel, and the other for him and Alice Conley.

Alice protested, saying Mabel and Kyle are an engaged couple, so sharing a room is normal, but she and Dorian have no relationship, so why only book one room?

Then Dorian Howards directly said, "It’s just for showering and a short rest, isn’t it too wasteful to book two rooms?"

Co on, since when did CEO Dorian care about a small inn room costing less than a hundred dollars? "Then I’ll book another room myself, is that okay?" Alice Conley said.
