Chapter 3048: The Battle Breaks Out
Han ngli had just finished dispatching the first demon when two more demons appeared next to him, both stronger than the first one. One of them held a spear in their hand and the other one a whip.
At the sa ti, an arrow whistled at him again, this ti aiming for his chest.
Han ngli found himself unable to dodge the attack, so instead he decided to use it. He used the defensive technique at the last mont and let the arrow stab him in the chest.
His armor blocked the majority of the damage, the defensive technique stopping so of it. Pain stabbed through his body, the wind aura around it lacerating his skin, leaving red droplets of blood and flesh all around him.
The pain was strong, but the force of the attack threw him back far enough that neither the spear nor the whip managed to touch him. He rolled on the ground a few tis before getting back up, ready to run away.
The two demons surged forward for him again, both using their skills to try and kill him.
However, before either could do anything, sothing flashed before them, causing them both to turn to block it in ti. A golden energy exploded in motes of light before them, blinding them for a mont. Then, through the light ca a man with his own silver spear, stabbing through the heart of the demon holding the whip.
Before the other demon could react, Naless spun around, dragging the body of the demon on his spear, hurling the corpse at the man.
The demon spun his spear, knocking the corpse of his brethren away.
Naless gave the demon no mont of respite. He surged forward, the silver spear gathering golden light. A bestial laugh left his throat, his body already covered in blood.
“Co on!” he shouted. “Give more.”
He dashed forward, steel clashing on steel, leaving sparks of light in the night. The demon was strong, but before Naless, his strength was pitiful.
Naless scoffed, and in one fluid motion, he decapitated the demon, standing in the blood that sprung out from the demon’s exposed neck. He slowly raised his arm out wide.
“Haha, more. More!” he shouted. “Bring your strongest fighters!”
Another arrow flew from the night, but the barbarian-like man appeared, his hamr striking away the arrow at the last mont.
Naless scanned the area, searching for a worthy opponent. As if his wishes were answered, a man flew down from the sky, carrying with him a might that scared every single slave down there.
All except Naless.
“A bunch of ants who don’t know their place,” the demon said, more annoyed with the situation than angered. “We’ll just have to kill you and start over.”
Naless laughed. “An ant can bite down an elephant,” he said. “A spear can take down the heaven. I can kill you.”
The demon scoffed. “You’ll understand the difference between the two of us soon.”
A sliver of spiritual sense landed on Han ngli, coming from Naless.
“Go. Hurry!”
Han ngli wasted no ti and ran away. Even as he did, he looked back at Naless and the man who flew above him. He knew Naless’s strength, but he worried that the newcor might actually be one of an Immortal.
If that was true, then Naless likely would not survive this battle.
No one stopped Han ngli’s path, mostly because everyone was busy with the chaos of the battle. He snuck out of the camp and was about to go to the other camp when he rembered sothing.
He looked around for a mont and held a dagger out. With a flick, the dagger stabbed into a large stone tablet in the corner, kept at an inconspicuous location, holding in it the script that kept the Qi away from the camp.
The demons might have thought it hidden, but after so many hundreds of years, most slaves knew what it was that kept them there.
With a single strike, Han ngli destroyed the tablet and continued on. He could hear the slight bit of cheer in the air even as he left.
Not knowing where the camp was, Han ngli ran up the mountain to get a better view of the encampnt they were in. He thought of running down when he rembered he could just fly.
He had never flown in his life outside of the mines, so he hadn’t rembered it right away.
Flying over to the next camp, he found there were more guards than he was expecting. And worse, they had noticed him flying toward them. Not knowing what else to do, Han ngli began throwing around his dagger.
The incoming demons either fended it off or dodged it.
Han ngli controlled the dagger for so ti, bringing it back around to strike them, but after a while, he imdiately gathered it all and flew away. The demons followed him, knowing they couldn’t allow him to get far away, and Han ngli hoped that was enough. For one of the daggers he had thrown had the storage bag attached to it, and he had targeted it right into the camp.
With so many guards coming after him, hopefully, one of the slaves would find the storage bag soon and start retaliating.
With nothing more to do, Han ngli ran, trying to get away from his pursuers. With nowhere else to go, he quickly ran into the mine that he was so familiar with, flying to the depths as soon as he could.
So of the demons followed, so staying behind.
He quickly arrived at the end where a massive hole lay open, spilling out light from the spirit stone mine the demons had unearthed.
Two demons were inside, working on mining the spirit stone, but Han ngli attacked before either could react. He swiftly killed them and jumped into the hollow mine, barring it close.
There, he waited with bated breath for nearly an hour before he opened the barred region again, ready to leave.
