Everyone felt that the instructor's words made sense. The disparity in Power Levels was simply too great. If the academy wanted to be fair and impartial, it couldn't favor the Basic Level students. Encountering danger was inevitable. Every powerful expert had walked the path between life and death.
"Alright! This ti, the academy will not interfere with their business. Anyone who manages to return from the Demon Beast Region will be considered to have passed the trial. However, this field activity will only last for one month. I hope all of you can go in to check on them during the last few days.
After all, we didn't distribute any healing Elixirs this ti, so there will certainly be students injured by Demon Beasts. Going in to check on them might allow us to save a few lives. That wouldn't be a violation of the rules for this activity, correct?" Xiao Wenjie added.
"Rest assured, Dean. When the ti cos, we will enter the Demon Beast Region to check on the students. We hope the casualties this ti will be minimal," a middle-aged male instructor said.
"Then it's settled. You are all free to move about during this ti. I know it's usually not easy to leave the academy grounds. Those with family may go ho to visit, and those who wish to go shopping in Lin Yuan City will have the ti. Of course, if anyone wants to enter the Demon Beast Region, you may do so as well.
However, there is one condition: you must not let the students discover you. Even if you see a Demon Beast slaying a student, you are not to help. The law of the jungle is just that cruel, and your presence cannot change it. The weak can only be eliminated. Linyuan Academy has no place for the weak. You must rember that," Xiao Wenjie said.
Although Xiao Wenjie's words seed unfeeling, he was speaking a fundantal truth. If they were to save people indiscriminately, it would defeat the entire purpose of the field activity.
Among the dozens of academy instructors, so wanted to visit family, while others planned to go out for a few drinks and enjoy the rare ti off. Of course, so also wanted to enter the Demon Beast Region to have a look. The most conspicuous among them were Lin Ling and Xiao Yaoyao. Both won were worried about Ye Tian and naturally wanted to see how the man they cared for would perform during the activity.
Another reason for their concern was that students from all three Power Levels were in the sa region. This ant Sima Tianhai of the Sima Clan would very likely try to settle his score with Ye Tian. A great battle was bound to happen. Ye Tian certainly wouldn't be afraid of a direct confrontation, but it was another matter entirely if Sima Tianhai resorted to dirty tricks.
However, the two won didn't want to seem too eager, so they decided to wait a few days before entering the Demon Beast Region. After all, everyone was currently scattered, and nobody knew anyone else's exact location.
anwhile, all the students had entered the Demon Beast Region. For many, it was their first ti slaying a Demon Beast, and the scenes were incredibly bloody.
So students, slaying a Demon Beast for the first ti, couldn't help but freeze in fear at the creature's terrifying appearance. Before they could even attack, they were wounded. The unlucky ones beca a Demon Beast's next al.
The roars of Demon Beasts and the panicked shouts of students could be heard intermittently, blanketing the entire Demon Beast Region in an aura of blood and terror.
Ye Tian had arrived alone atop a small mountain range. He was surrounded by dense forest where nurous Demon Beasts road, though they were all Low Tier. So could barely even be called Demon Beasts, qualifying as re wild animals, much like the ones back in the Liuyun Mountain Range.
Ye Tian had little interest in these creatures. However, he recalled Xiao Wenjie ntioning the possibility of a direct recomndation to the Imperial City Academy. With that in mind, he decided that slaying these Demon Beasts for their Magic Crystals was his top priority.
Ye Tian extended his Divine Sense, scanning the situation within a radius of several miles. He found that there wasn't a single other student around. There were, however, dozens of Demon Beasts, including a few that were Tier Two. To Ye Tian, these creatures posed no threat whatsoever.
With a single thought, Ye Tian shot toward a nearby Demon Beast. The Black Glaze Sword appeared in his hand. Before he even closed the distance, he swung his sword, unleashing a powerful stream of Sword Qi that struck the creature directly.
It was a Tier One Demon Beast. Faced with such a powerful strike from Ye Tian, it stood no chance. His attack had actually cleaved the creature in two.
"Pathetic," Ye Tian chuckled. "Fighting powerful Demon Beasts is much more satisfying."
His hands, however, didn't stop. He quickly extracted the Magic Crystal from the Demon Beast's corpse. In truth, Ye Tian hadn't been sure if it would even have one. After all, back in the Liuyun Mountain Range, he had encountered many Demon Beasts that didn't possess Magic Crystals.
But his luck was good this ti; he obtained a Magic Crystal the size of a soybean. 'Not a bad start. I hope my luck holds out.'
Before long, Ye Tian had slain all the Demon Beasts in the vicinity. To his frustration, however, after killing several dozen of them, he had only managed to collect five Magic Crystals. Many of them had none, simply because they were too weak.
"The Demon Beasts here are too weak. I need to find so with decent strength!" Ye Tian muttered in frustration, once again extending his Divine Sense to scan the area.
This ti, Ye Tian scanned his surroundings while on the move. After a mont, he ca to a stop. He had discovered a pack of Gale Wolves—the sa type of pack-dwelling Demon Beast he had fought before.
"And here I thought my luck was turning sour. To think I'd run into Gale Wolves... It seems fate is on my side after all!" Ye Tian grinned. He also realized there were still no other students for miles around. He had this entire area to himself.
Without a mont's hesitation, Ye Tian beca a blur as he charged into the Gale Wolf pack. The mont he entered their midst, the wolves' eyes glinted with savage light, eager to tear him to pieces and devour him.
There were about thirty Gale Wolves in the pack, and they were now slowly tightening the circle around him. This was exactly what Ye Tian wanted.
When the nearest Gale Wolf was still five ters away, Ye Tian moved. Or more accurately, the Black Glaze Sword in his hand moved.
A powerful blast of Sword Qi erupted from the Black Glaze Sword, instantly filling the air with a flurry of sword shadows. He recalled the last ti he had faced Gale Wolves. Back then, he had used the Thunderbolt Fist, and it had been an exhausting struggle that left him injured.
Now, however, dealing with these Gale Wolves was child's play. This single strike killed nearly ten of them outright. His power now was completely incomparable to what it was back then.
A commotion rippled through the Gale Wolf pack. Several of them began to let out piercing howls. It was a Sonic Attack, sothing Ye Tian had experienced before; it had nearly burst his eardrums back then.
"Screeching like that in front of ? I'll kill you so fast you won't even be able to whimper!" Ye Tian muttered, annoyed. His body flickered as he darted toward the other Gale Wolves.
Just then, two students who were traveling together so distance away heard the howling. "Listen," one of them said. "That's the sound of wolves. It ans there's a pack up ahead. Looks like we're about to get so Magic Crystals!"
The pair imdiately rushed in the direction of the sound. anwhile, Ye Tian was still busy swiftly dispatching the Gale Wolves, which now seed so weak to him...
