Chapter 1298: 1297 Tongtong’s Comfort

With Momo, and Ziyi waking up one after another, Tongtong temporarily forgot about her father’s injury.
Wen Ran heaved a sigh of relief and, with An Lin’s and the nanny’s help, dressed the three little ones, got them washed up, and took them downstairs for breakfast.

Having spent the past few days at Wen Ran’s ho, An Lin realized that while playing with these adorable little ones occasionally is delightful, being with them twenty-four hours a day without a break is trendously demanding of patience.

An Lin’s suggestion was t with a glare from Wen Ran, “You wish. It’s not easy bringing them up this big. Despite having annoying tis, it’s still better than getting pregnant all over again.”

Ziyi, sitting beside Tongtong, lovingly spooned so egg custard into Tongtong’s bowl, looking at her with a beaming smile, hoping for praise.
However, the next second Tongtong frowned and angrily pushed the bowl in front of her away, “Don’t want Egg.”
“Oh, Ziyi, Sister doesn’t eat egg custard. Don’t give it to Sister anymore.” After telling Ziyi, Wen Ran hurriedly got a new bowl for Tongtong, “Tongtong, use this one. Don’t be angry with your brother, he really, really likes you and that’s why he gave you Egg. Look, neither Auntie Lin nor I have any.”
Tongtong blinked, looked at Wen Ran, and craned her neck to peek into An Lin’s bowl—it was indeed empty.
She imdiately stopped being upset, a smile appeared on her little face, and turning her head, she saw Bai Yiyi at the dining room entrance. Tongtong’s eyes brightened, and she joyfully called out, “Mommy.”
When Wen Ran heard Tongtong calling out for Mommy, she saw that Bai Yiyi had indeed arrived. She imdiately stood up, concerned, and invited her, “Yiyi, you’re back by yourself? Co in quickly and have breakfast first.”
“Mmm, Qing Feng brought back.” Bai Yiyi entered the dining room, hugged Tongtong, who stretched out her arms wanting to be picked up. Tongtong happily kissed her on both cheeks, then offered her own little face for a kiss.
Bai Yiyi’s annoyed mood eased a lot at Tongtong’s adorable actions. She kissed Tongtong’s face, picked her up, and sat down herself.
“Yiyi, how is the situation at the hospital now?”
Wen Ran had Nanny Zhang fetch a set of utensils for Bai Yiyi and filled a bowl with porridge for her, then asked with concern.
Bai Yiyi’s eyes flickered, and with a gentle tone, she said, “Mo General and the others rushed to the hospital. I didn’t get out of the car. Just now, President Wen told to go back and rest for the morning and visit Li En in the afternoon.”
She felt that Ranran might not have seen the news, which would explain why she asked about the hospital’s situation, instead of asking about her brother and whether he was injured.
Wen Ran saw that Bai Yiyi avoided talking about Gu Kai. She looked down at Tongtong, who was sitting on her lap, not wanting to bring up Gu Kai’s injury for fear that Tongtong might get upset again, and asked, “Yiyi, did my brother tell you to visit Li En?”
“Yes, I didn’t go ho last night. I spent the whole ti at Kangning Hospital…” Bai Yiyi explained her night accompanying Gu Kai in conducting experints all night.
Normally quiet, Tongtong suddenly spoke, “Mommy, Daddy hurts. Tongtong call.”
Bai Yiyi’s words were interrupted by Tongtong, and as she looked down at her concerned and sympathetic little face, she felt a slight tightness in her heart and looked to Wen Ran for guidance with her eyes.
Wen Ran had not intended to ask about Gu Kai’s injury in front of Tongtong, as she was afraid it would upset her.
Now, hearing Tongtong bring it up herself, she had no choice but to explain: “This morning, after I received a call from Fang Zhiwei, I turned on the TV, and just then I saw the scene of my brother getting injured, which scared Tongtong into crying.”
“Mommy, phone.”
Later on, because of her younger siblings, Tongtong forgot about her daddy getting hurt, but now she suddenly rembered and insisted on calling him.
Helpless, Bai Yiyi took out her mobile phone, dialed Gu Kai’s number, and gently patted Tongtong’s back to reassure her: “Don’t be afraid, Tongtong. Your daddy is a doctor. A little injury like his will heal very quickly.”

Biting her lip, Tongtong’s expression was serious, and she listened intently to the ringing tone coming from the phone. Finally, after a long wait, her daddy’s voice ca through the waves.
“Daddy ouchie.”
As soon as Tongtong heard Gu Kai’s voice, she excitedly wanted to hold the phone herself.
Gu Kai on the other end of the phone was taken aback when he heard Tongtong’s voice, and his tone softened: “Tongtong, what did you just say?”
Tongtong frowned, anxious that her daddy hadn’t understood her, and she repeated: “Daddy blood, ouchie, Tongtong looking for you.”
Even though Tongtong’s words weren’t very clear, Gu Kai naturally understood them, feeling a warm current in his heart. He looked down at his injured hand and suddenly felt that the pain wasn’t so bad anymore.
“Tongtong, daddy isn’t in pain. Stay with mommy and sleep first; daddy will go ho after finishing work.”
Gu Kai was currently sitting in the car with Mo Xiuchen driving. Hearing what he said, Mo Xiuchen glanced at him but didn’t speak.
The originally solemn atmosphere changed because of Tongtong’s call. Gu Kai’s heavy mood also beca much lighter and more relaxed. With gentle fatherly love in his gaze and listening to Tongtong’s childish voice, he said with a heart full of tenderness: “Daddy, give injection, Tongtong waits for you.”
Unconsciously smiling, Gu Kai spoke gently: “Alright, Tongtong, wait for daddy at ho. Your mommy hasn’t had breakfast or sleep, you need to take good care of mommy, okay?”
