I left the tavern with the girls and start to look around for the blacksmith shop that this bastard should be at. The crowd was still just as big as when we first went into the tavern.
It definitely makes it a bit of a challenge to look for anything when there is so many damn people. It wasn’t enough to stop us though.
Moving through the crowd I begin to search for any sign of this old blacksmith building. She said it will have two short swords hanging over the doorway.
After about five minutes of searching I think I finally see the building we are looking for. The sign was quite rusty with the shop overall looking like it was abandoned ages ago.
"This is the place." I say with confidence.
"We are following you, we got your back." Aria responds.
I turn the knob and the door slowly begins to open... When it finally opens up the rest of the way I can see that the whole shop looks like it has seen better days.
Broken pieces of armor were scattered across the counter and even on the floors. It didn’t really seem like anyone has been in here in years.
"This place seems pretty abandoned in all honesty." Velia says with a bit of disappointnt in her voice.
"There’s probably more to it." Aria chis in while looking around.
I wonder if there is a secret door sowhere within this shop. That honestly would explain why this place feels so abandoned since this Lord might be hidden in that secret place.
Secret rooms aren’t completely uncommon for soone to go through, especially when they are considered a Lord in a place like this.
I begin to trace everything along the walls for any hopes of finding so sort of button to activate this door. Click!! Rumble! Shift!! The sound of sothing begining to open is all I can hear after pressing sothing along the wall.
"A door opened up over here." Eliza speaks up with a cautious tone in her voice.
"Secret room. Found it pretty easily at least." I say before making my way over to her.
There was a staircase going down so far that I can’t see the end of it in the slightest. It was like going into the abyss all over again with how dark it is as well.
It didn’t an anything to though since I wasn’t scared of the dark after the amount of tis I went into the abyss. That place was dark all the damn ti.
Can you sense the Lord at all? I feel like the further down the stairs you go... The easier it should be to sense him. He’ll probably be pretty strong as well.
We have a pretty strong group with us so I’m not too worried about how strong this Lord is. He’ll give us what we need before he dies afterwards.
"Rokuro you don’t mind the darkness?" Aria asks as she grabs my arm.
"Not at all. Just stay close and everything will be fine." I respond with a calm tone in my voice.
It felt as if the staircase was endless with how long we’ve been going down but I’m sure we have to be close to the end. I really hope it isn’t one of those endless staircase things that I’ve read about in horror stories.
Before I could react any further I feel my foot hit the floor, it was no longer a staircase. "We’ve reached the bottom." I say while looking ahead.
In the distance I could just barely see a light inside of a room. That is probably where our Lord resides so this is finally almost done.
"I can sense soone ahead." Eliza chis in with so concern in her voice.
"Probably the guy we are looking for." I reply with a laid back tone.
Usually I would be worried about sothing like this but I don’t have that kind of thinking process anymore. I’ll kill the guy when we get what we need and I won’t have a single problem doing it either.
I’ve learned a lot about myself in the towers so this isn’t the worst thing that I’ve gone through. Killing the other version of was probably one of the worst experiences I had so far.
"Everyone stay on guard." Eliza warns.
As I enter the room I can see a man leaning against the wall with his arms crossed. He’s wearing a long black trench coat with a silver chest piece noticeable underneath, long black hair with so bangs over his face.
He looks towards us with his crimson red eyes. "I take it you are looking for . I haven’t had anyone make it down here before since I did my best to hide everything. What is it you all want?" He questions after making his observation.
Scales form around my arms, I can slightly notice the distortion in the room which ant my eyes were probably different, and the gauntlet finally ford.
"You have information about the king who is causing this darkness, we would love for his whereabouts." I respond with a serious tone in my voice.
He doesn’t even uncross his arms as he continues to look towards now instead. "A dragon lurking with Ashline, quite the surprise. I would be a terrible lord if I just told so strangers where he is. He is quite the important man." The Lord says with a bit of a smile on his face.
"Do you really think our ho deserves to be covered in darkness?" Eliza asks, interrupting the conversation.
His gaze shifts over to her. "A woman from the church, I can’t say I’m surprised to see soone like you here. The darkness isn’t sothing we get to decide on, that is the wish of a being higher than us. You should know all about higher beings." He answers with an even bigger grin on his face.
This guy isn’t taking us seriously in the slightest and it is really starting to piss off now. I know we can’t kill him until he gives us so information to work with.... But that’s hard.
Keeping this bastard alive until we get information is going to take a lot to hold back.
"Most people looking for the king end up dead anyway. Is it really worth your lives? Hehe." He asks with a chuckle.
Ba-thump.
I could feel the anger rising within with each word he says.
Ba-thump. Ba-dum.
"Just give us what we need and you can continue leaning against the wall or whatever it is you do down here." I respond with a bit of frustration in my voice.
"Nah. I think you’ll have to work for it if you want to get anything out of ." The Lord says as his voice suddenly gets deeper and takes on more of a serious tone.
I don’t think there is any point in holding back anymore. This asshole isn’t going to cooperate no matter what we do so it is better we just deal with him now.
Crack.
Crack.
The ground shatters beneath my feet as I push myself forward, my right arm reeled back. As I reach him I swing my fist forward with as much power behind it as possible.
POW!!!! Parts of the wall behind him crack as I notice that he blocked the attack with his arm. "You definitely are a lot stronger than I expected but that’s fine by . I haven’t had fun in a long, long ti." He says as he looks at with a smile on his face.
My fist was right up against his forearm, he really blocked it with all that power behind it. Seems I’ll need to use even more power to fight against this damn guy.
Step. Step.
Swoosh. I quickly made my way back towards the group as I took another look at this Lord. His arm didn’t even look like it was damaged much from my attack.
I haven’t fought anyone who could take a punch like that... Not soone who could eat the punch without having any real damage taken.
Then again, I’m not using the full force of my power yet because I don’t want to cause this place to collapse. The girls are here with right now... They could help in this fight as well.
Velia was already rushing past when that thought finished. Her sword was in her hand like always and I could just barely see that evil grin on her face.
The grin she always has when fighting against monsters.
So I watch for a mont as she hits him with a rush of attacks. Her blade appears as if it is piercing through him multiple tis in a row before she finally backs up.
I could see it on her face that she wasn’t smiling anymore and was actually looking quite surprised. It made sense when I looked over at the Lord.
Nothing really damaged him from her attacks in the slightest either.
This won’t be an easy fight after all.
