"To think there were a couple of impressive specins like you two among the ones that got away."
"This ti, I’ll admit I underestimated you natives."
"But that old codger over there... fighting so desperately, how much longer can he possibly last?"
"Don’t say I never gave you a chance. If you surrender now, I can make an exception and take you in as my personal retainers. Consider it a gesture of my appreciation for talent."
"So, what do you say? Won’t you two consider it?"
Raging flas scorched the sea, while black serpents brought a deathly, icy stillness to all they touched.
The collision of fire and ice was destined to unleash a storm beyond all imagination.
At this mont, the Giant Governor seed to be handling the two Saint Tier Professionals with ease, even taking the rare opportunity to offer terms of surrender.
’An appreciation for talent? To beco his retainers?’
"How ridiculous! I’ve never heard of a Giant Demon keeping Human Professionals as servants. HAHA! Since when did your unbearably arrogant Alien Race resort to such pathetic verbal ploys?"
The Fla Giant, a product of Elentalization, stood nearly two thousand ters tall.
With every move, he set the surrounding sea ablaze. As his Magic Power burned, he suddenly shot out a hand, grabbing a massive, frozen black serpent. With a thunderous roar, he tore the thousand-ter-long creature in two.
Watching all this with indifference, the Giant Governor spoke coolly:
"Tis have changed. As the Governor of the continent’s Southern Cities, I have the authority to spare you in ergencies."
"If you are willing to beco my retainers and go on to perform great service, I am confident I can protect you from the more radical factions within the Empire Army Departnt."
"This is a rare opportunity. Make your choice."
The Giant Governor’s words left both the old Priest and the brawny man montarily stunned.
After all, ever since the Giant Demons’ Descent upon Karte World, their standing policy had been to slaughter all believers of the Deities.
And since Professionals drew their Power from the Underground City, they were naturally classified as followers of the Deities.
For over a hundred years, the Giant Demon Empire had wasted few words on Human Professionals. Their creed in this world was simple: slaughter them all.
So now, for this Giant Demon to suddenly offer terms, even wanting to take them as his personal retainers, led Priest Kaven and the brawny Yide to a sudden, startling speculation.
’These Giant Demons are in trouble!’
Otherwise, there was no way this Giant Demon would be saying such things.
Besides, the Giant Demons were naturally arrogant. A great figure of the Saint Tier would have no reason to deceive them.
And so, in the next mont, the brawny Yide burst out laughing.
"HAHAHA! Well, well, well, how the tables have turned!"
"What’s the matter? Has your self-important Alien Race run into a problem you can’t solve?"
"Don’t tell so great enemy of you Giant Demons has suddenly appeared in our world?"
"Interesting... very interesting indeed! HAHA! In over a hundred years, I haven’t heard news more satisfying than this!"
Faced with the Fla Giant’s taunts and wild deanor, the Giant Governor remained remarkably composed.
"It is rely a minor inconvenience."
"I’m being frank with you out of an appreciation for talent, but that doesn’t an I’m incapable of dealing with you."
"In my eyes, the fact that you two have struggled for over a hundred years to ensure your people’s survival, even holding fast to your faith... even as enemies, I find it truly admirable."
"Therefore, this is the one and only ti I will offer you this rcy. This choice!"
"Enough! Give your answer!"
The Giant Governor did, in fact, admire the two n’s perseverance.
The native Human Race’s situation had been dire for over a century, yet these two Saint Tier Professionals had managed to shelter hundreds of thousands of their people overseas for so long.
It truly made him see them in a new light.
Then again, it wasn’t as if these two Saint Tier humans had a choice.
If they hadn’t established a stronghold overseas and sheltered the survivors, how could they have ensured their civilization wasn’t extinguished?
After all, the Giant Race had never before accepted the surrender or service of any Professionals.
The arrogant Giant Demons couldn’t even be bothered to divide and conquer, or to recruit different Professionals to their cause.
At the end of the day, the Giant Demons were worried that leaving too many Professionals alive would lead to a swift revival of the Deities.
Therefore, to eliminate any future threats, the Giant Demons showed absolutely no rcy to anyone or anything related to the Deities in this war of civilizations.
And now, this Giant Governor’s desire to take them as retainers was, in the end, a way to prepare for the current chaotic situation.
They were, at the very least, two Saint Tier powerhouses.
Furthermore, they were Saint Tiers who had survived the war of civilizations up to this point; they were bound to have their own unique strengths.
They might even possess powerful artifacts left behind by the Deities.
He wanted to minimize his own losses while also reaping the greatest glory from annihilating these survivors.
Thus, the Governor had every reason to try a gentler approach.
However, his attempt at persuasion was dood to be nothing more than wishful thinking.
The hatred between the Human Race and the Giant Demons had long ago reached an irreconcilable point.
The Giant Demons wanted to sever the Human Race’s civilization from this world, taming all humans into their slaves and servants.
No one with even an ounce of pride could possibly agree to such a thing.
"Our answer?"
"Ridiculous! After you’ve slaughtered our people and murdered our children, you dare speak to of surrender? Of becoming slaves and retainers? HAHA! That’s the most ridiculous thing I’ve ever heard!"
"Hmph! Enough talk. Let’s see what you’ve really got!"
"By the lingering twilight of the Deities, I call you! Demon Slaughter, co forth! Let’s give our great Giant Demon lord a taste of the Power the Deities left behind in the mortal realm! This will be your final performance!"
