The car took a turn and settled in the parking lot beneath the Jinding Pavilion.
"You two head back first. Leave the car keys!"
Kris Cooper quietly commanded, and the driver and Tommy Taylor promptly got out of the car on either side and moved off.
The person who had feigned unconsciousness all this ti finally lifted her face cautiously. Seeing that there was no one else in the car, she quickly got out of his embrace.
Noticing a lint ball on her clothes, Kris Cooper reached out to grab Vera Wave as she attempted to slip away.
"Where do you think you’re going?!"
"Aren’t we... going to eat?" Vera Wave asked with a smile.
Kris Cooper lifted his finger, pinching the lint ball. Seeing his action, Vera Wave’s heart tightened; was he going to get frisky with her right there? She quickly grabbed his wrist.
"Can we... go eat first, and... get intimate once we get ho?"
This was a public place. He couldn’t possibly want to do it in the car, could he?

Kris Cooper plucked the lint ball from her clothing and began to speak, grinning.
"If that’s your request, then alright!"
It was clearly his idea! How did it beco her request?
"When... when did I make such a request?"
Kris Cooper raised an eyebrow, his hand deliberately reaching out to rest on her knee. "Or are you suggesting... now?!"
Vera Wave hastily caught his palm. "No, no, no, this place is too small, Mr. President. Let’s discuss this at ho..."
"What did you call ?"
"Mr. Pre— Oh, no, Brother Kris..."
"Is my na for you to call?"
’Mr. President’ wasn’t right, and ’Brother Kris’ wasn’t either. What on earth did he want?!
Annoyed by his teasing, Vera Wave beca agitated.
"So, what do you want to call you? Darling hubby?!"
"No need for such cheesy terms. I can accept it without the adjectives," Kris Cooper casually replied.
’Darling hubby’... without the adjectives... wouldn’t that just be ’hubby’?
Vera Wave raised her face in confusion, looking at Kris Cooper. What was this guy up to? One mont he wouldn’t let her call him things, the next he seed to want her to.
Kris Cooper winked at her, moving closer. "Staring at like that—do you want to eat ?"
"Who wants to eat you!" Vera Wave’s heart skipped a beat. She hurriedly pushed his arm away and scrambled out of the car. "I’m hungry! Let’s eat!"
Leisurely following her out of the car, Kris Cooper looked at the hurried girl ahead. He took out his phone and dialed Tommy Taylor’s number.
"Look into it. Find out what the deal is with that Robert Taylor, and give an explanation first thing tomorrow morning."
"Understood, Mr. President."
Vera Wave walked a distance ahead and, seeing him still standing by the car, called out.
"Hurry up!"
Kris Cooper clicked the car key, locking the car, and leaned against its body.
What was he up to now?
She ca back, frowning at him. "Why aren’t you moving?"
He nonchalantly swung the car keys in his hand, ignoring her.
"Hey, I’m talking to you!"
"My na isn’t ’Hey’!"
Vera Wave bit her lip and turned to walk away. After a few steps, she glanced back and saw he was still standing in the sa spot. Frustrated, she clenched her small fists, spun around, and marched back to him. Standing on her tiptoes, she leaned close to his ear and roared.
"Hubby, hubby, hubby... Can we go now?"
"My ears aren’t deaf. You don’t have to shout so loudly next ti," Kris Cooper said, catching her waist and whispering into her ear, "unless we’re in bed, of course!"
