"We soon discovered that the embryo cultivated using w and Yveltal genes had severe genetic defects," Dr. Fuji continued, his voice echoing in the quiet office. "It required astronomical amounts of energy just to sustain its life. Moreover, it was uncontrollable—it seed to lack all reason, like a frenzied beast that existed only to feed."
"Ultimately, we abandoned that project. But as I was preparing to destroy the 'Black wtwo' embryo, it vanished. Along with it, a massive number of Pokémon corpses stored by Team Rocket disappeared, as did the failed 'Dittos' transford from the w cloning process."
Fuji sighed heavily. "That was the infamous 'Ditto Escape Incident.' Afterward, I focused on the new wtwo embryo, but as you know, it died due to genetic collapse, and Leader Giovanni ordered the research suspended."
He looked at Feng Che with a flicker of hope. "But I still believe that missing embryo had the potential to beco a True God. It possessed w's Gene X for infinite adaptation and Yveltal's Gene Y for life-consumption. If fed powerful enough essence, it would never stop growing."
Fuji handed Feng Che a sleek USB drive. "This contains all the data from the wtwo project, including my most classified notes. If anything happens to , Feng Che, I want you to continue. Create the Ditto that can rival the High Gods."
Fuji patted Feng Che's shoulder with firm resolve and walked out.
Well, Feng Che thought with a wry smile. Fuji's theories were 100% correct. The God-tier Ditto is currently in my pocket. The ultimate wtwo is standing invisibly behind . And now, the strongest Genesect is about to be under my command. I've effectively inherited the man's entire life's work.
The War Machine Awakens
Leaving the office, Feng Che saw the armored "Genesect" standing in the center of the lab.
The back was fitted with a high-output rocket thruster designed by Team Rocket's top aerospace scientist, capable of hitting speeds of 2,000 km/h. Mounted above the thruster was a high-precision Sniper Cannon with four barrels. It could siphon energy from the Pokémon's core to fire Mirror Shots, and it featured a modular slot for specialized "Drives."
Rocket had developed five: Burn, Douse, Chill, Gale, and Shock. Depending on the Drive inserted, the cannon could fire Flathrower, Earth Power, Ice Beam, Hurricane, or Thunderbolt.
"Feng Che, it's ready. Please, test its combat threshold for ," Fuji said expectantly.
Feng Che nodded. A faint purple aura—wtwo's hidden power—surged into the deceased Genesect's fra. Under the influence of wtwo's masterful puppet-strings, the "brain-dead" machine began to whir to life.
"It's moving! It's actually moving!" the researchers cheered.
The Trial of Strength
In the Rocket testing grounds, Giovanni sat in the shadows of the observation deck as "Genesect" faced off against dozens of trained Golem.
The Golem launched a synchronized Rollout, hurtling toward the target like massive boulders. Genesect dodged with chanical fluidity, its thrusters flaring as it zipped through the gaps. It lashed out with its special alloy tal Claws, knocking the Golem back with sparks flying from their rocky hides. Then, it locked its cannon.
Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom!
Four bursts of Earth Power erupted from the barrels, cratering the battlefield and leaving the Golem team fainted in minutes.
"Bravo," a deep voice bood. Giovanni stepped into the light, clapping slowly. "Now, let personally gauge the strength of this hunter."
He released his personal, Champion-rank Golem. This beast was unique; its rocky hide was white and polished like fine marble, reflecting the overhead lights with a blinding glare.
"Golem, Rollout!"
The white Golem moved at terrifying speed—less than 0.1 seconds to reach maximum velocity. It launched itself into the air, aiming to crush Genesect.
Genesect didn't dodge. Its thrusters roared at maximum output as it dug its claws into the ground, bracing itself.
SCREEECH!
The spinning Golem slamd into Genesect's crossed tal claws. The friction created a cascade of sparks that lit up the entire arena. Genesect roared (via a synthesized speaker), hoisted the spinning Golem into the air, and slamd it toward the ground.
Mid-air, the Golem countered with Rock Tomb, raining boulders down. Genesect's Sniper Cannon whirred, firing four beams of silver light that vaporized the falling rocks instantly.
"Genesect, Giga Impact!"
The mythic bug transford into a spinning silver teor, crashing into Golem. At the mont of impact, Golem unleashed a massive Explosion. Shrapnel and debris peppered the arena walls like bullets.
When the smoke cleared, Genesect erged without a single scratch on its new armor. Its claws extended, ready to deliver the finishing blow.
"Haha! That's enough. Return, Golem," Giovanni said, recalling his Pokémon just before it could be defeated. He didn't want to lose face in front of his staff.
"Dr. Fuji, this Genesect is magnificent. Its combat potential is on par with my own primary team. Team Rocket will not forget your contribution."
Giovanni turned to leave, a wide, predatory grin on his face. If one Genesect is this powerful... with a legion of them, I could hunt the Gods themselves.
Lugia's egg is pulsing in Feng Che's bag, and he now has the data to "evolve" his Ditto into a God of Destruction. Should he leave the base to find the Soul Crystal for Rowlet, or stay to help Fuji "dispose" of the three brain-dead Genesect—right into his own collection?
