Upon hearing soone calling him, Michael did not need to turn around to know who it was. Just from the voice, which he had grown familiar to all those years back in Drenn city, Michael could tell that it was John.
And as he turned around to face the old man, who was looking at him with a beaming smile, tinged with surprise, he smiled back as he said, "I just ca by with a group of friends to taste out the new dishes of the restaurant."
The mont that John heard those words, he was surprised. He had no anticipated that Michael would co here for such a purpose.
When he first saw Michael coming in together with a group of young n and won, he thought that Michael was here to see how the business was doing.
But from the looks of it, that was not the aim that brought Michael here. Instead, he was actually here to taste out the dishes here?
John had already visited Michael’s residence in the Riverside residential community. During his visit, he had tasted the food that was prepared by Adrian.
And just like during the ti that Michael was still living in the apartnt building that he had bought, the food was just as exquisite. It was extrely delicious, that he always felt that the food prepared at ho was kind of bland.
The only reason why he could continue eating the food prepared by Rebecca was simply because it was sothing that his wife had prepared. Additionally, the food that she prepared had a special taste, sothing that he just could not get used to.
And of course, having tasted the food that was prepared by Adrian, there was no way that he believed that Michael would be interested by the food here. At least, the quality of the food here was not in any way better than the one that was prepared by Adrian.
And in fact, since the food was not directly prepared by Benjamin, but by the chefs that had been trained to prepare those dishes, they were definitely worse as compared to those prepared by Adrian.
But as soon as he thought about this, John realized sothing. Looking at the group of young people that was gazing at him, he thought that, maybe they did not know that Michael was the owner of this restaurant chain.
It seed that Michael had the intention of keeping the ownership of this restaurant chain as a secret from this group of people. And looking at the way that they were dressed, they were obviously from a high social class within the city.
Since that was the case, the old man was not intending to reveal anything about Michael’s relationship to this restaurant chain. So, he also refrained from linking himself to this restaurant chain.
"Oh, since that is the case, then you guys go ahead. But make sure to visit us. It has already been quite a while since you ca ho." The old man nodded as he waved at the group of youngsters.
Michael nodded back at the old man, and watched as John left. Initially, Michael had thought that John would ntion about the restaurant. But seemingly, the old man had already realized that this group of people around him did not know about his relationship with this restaurant.
Michael obviously appreciated this. And since that was the case, he decided, he would pay the old man a visit soon. Anyway, it had already been about 2 weeks since he visited the old man.
"That is a surprise. Looking at that old man, the way that he is dressed, it is quite difficult to be able to associate him with you." Alex approached Michael and spoke.
The others also nodded in agreent. The way that all John was dressed was just too simple. At least, it did not match the level of those high class people that they had good news to being associated with.
And looking at how John was so familiar with Michael, it was quite a surprise to them. At the sa ti, they could not help but contemplate, what kind of relationship was there between John and this old man.
Additionally, since the old man had invited Michael to his place, it was clear that the relationship between the two of them was quite deep.
At this mont, they thought, maybe there was a possibility that they might be able to know of Michael’s origins by investigating the old man?
But then again, they thought against it. After all, if they tried doing sothing like this and Michael found out, the trust that was already beginning to form between them would crumble.
At that ti, there was a possibility that Michael might decide not to associate with them any longer.
If that happened, they would surely regret it. After all, they understood, if they continued sticking with Michael, there was a possibility that they could gain more benefits.
And, there was no reason for them to throw away those benefits just to satiate their curiosity.
To Alex’s words, Michael did not comnt. Instead, he just said that they should find a place to taste the dishes.
Quickly, one of the waitresses within the restaurant approached them. After all, the way that Alex and the others carried themselves was so easy to give out their origin.
Additionally, the way that they were dressed was just too high-end and eye-catching. It was impossible for them to be ignored.
"Excuse , ladies and gentlen. Do you have a reservation, or would you like to make one?" The waitress asked politely.
"We have not made any reservations. Do you perhaps have any private dining rooms available? If there is any, the best of the best, we would like to take that one." Raymond responded.
The waitress was montarily stunned. But then, she reacted quickly as she nodded and said, "This way, please. We have a few empty private rooms."
The private rooms that she was talking about were the most expensive ones available. Due to the price, not many people could afford.
This was an arrangent made by Benjamin. Since this was going to be an elite establishnt, then it had to set standards.
For that reason, those who could afford to get the private rooms would be able to have access to a different nu. And the dishes on that nu were different as compared to those that could be found on the ground floor’s open dining area.
First of all, the dishes were much more delicious. And more than that, they were personally prepared by the head chef of the restaurant.
It was more like the signature dishes of the restaurant.
Soon, Michael and the others entered into the private room. The private room itself was quite big, which was to be expected considering that it was the most expensive one available.
The VIP private room at Starlight Restaurant was set apart from the rest of the building, hidden behind a soundless door of smoked glass and brushed steel.
Inside, the space was wide and, a single oval table of polished dark wood sat at the center, laid with silver cutlery that caught the light like quiet sparks.
The ceiling glowed with soft, star-like points of light, mirrored faintly in the black marble floor. Thick upholstered chairs, hand-stitched and heavy, absorbed every sound.
Everyone who had never visited starlight restaurant was amazed. And after they finished ordering the dishes, when they tasted them, they were all awed.
At that mont, they began swearing, that they would be eating here. None of them wanted to go back to the hotels that they had been eating before.
"Damn! Just how are these dishes prepared?"
"Exactly! There is not even a single one of them that I can point fingers at. All of them are very well prepared, and the taste is just too amazing."
"From now on, I guess I will be having all my als here. It doesn’t matter if it is breakfast, lunch, or dinner. All of them, I will be coming here everyday."
"You are saying that, but are you sure that your pockets will be able to support you for that? After all, the dishes themselves are not that cheap."
"You are right, but the price is worth it. As compared to those dishes that have inflated prices in those five-star hotels that we have gone to, do you think that they can compare to these dishes here?"
"That is true. But, with my current allowance, it is impossible for to be able to afford all the three als a day here for an extended duration. I guess I will be coming here for at least 1 al a day."
Listening to the group chattering about, Michael said nothing. But internally, he thought, Benjamin was managing this restaurant chain quite well.
Even though the food prepared here had several things that could be improved, but at least, Michael had not found anything that he could complain about.
From the looks of it, Benjamin had made sure that all those chefs that prepared the dishes here had been trained well enough. Otherwise, these dishes would not have been prepared to this extent. After all, they were all new dishes, ones that could not be found anywhere else apart from starlight restaurant chain.
"By the way, there is a golf club not far from here. Are you interested in paying it a visit?" After they had finished eating, Alex looked at Michael and asked, anticipation clear in his voice.
