Was Reacher angry?
Of course he was angry. Even with his current strength and status, he had never forgotten his original resolve.
Born a soldier, the bonds between comrades-in-arms, honor, and loyalty were all carved into his very bones.
Anyone who dared harm his comrades would have faced Reacher's retaliation in the past, no matter who they were.
And now was no different.
At the sa ti, he was rational.
He had not rushed to start a fight with Magneto because he wanted those weaker soldiers to be escorted away first.
He was confident that the two great warbands under his command would definitely hold the advantage against Magneto.
But a battle of this scale would cause equally astonishing destruction. He would not sacrifice those soldiers because of his anger.
As the soldiers were taken away from the old theater, Reacher stopped pretending completely.
Since Magneto had chosen to be forceful, then to Reacher, that was the signal to begin the battle.
Boom!!
Without the slightest hesitation, Reacher ruthlessly raised his right leg and, under the shocked gazes of Magneto and Mystique, stomped down hard.
With a sound like a waterlon bursting apart, Sabretooth Victor's head was crushed beneath his foot.
And to the warriors of the two warbands, that was the signal.
Neagley had the fastest reflexes and moved the quickest. She was as fierce as a cheetah as she activated Shave (Soru), her right-hand finger piercing through the air like a javelin, aid straight at Magneto's head.
However, it was stopped by an invisible magnetic-field barrier.
Although it blocked the attack, Magneto was still startled. The speed at which Neagley launched her Finger Pistol (Shigan) and the force of its penetration were beyond imagination.
The magnetic-field barrier he had laid down in advance had nearly been pierced through.
That finger was less than twenty centiters from his head.
The most terrifying part was that, aside from Neagley, the rest of the warriors followed imdiately after. Fortunately, the battle-hardened Magneto reacted just as quickly. The mont the intent to raise his power appeared in his mind, his ability activated instantly.
A terrifying electromagnetic energy shockwave burst forth.
Dazzling arcs of electricity crackled and exploded all around him. Dense plasma, like lead and rcury, swept across the area. The soldiers of the two warbands reacted extrely quickly, and the instant they charged in, they imdiately activated Shave (Soru) again and vanished from where they stood.
Rumble!
The explosive plasma swept across the entire old theater. The surrounding ground trembled, and the old theater began to collapse. The ceiling, rocks, chandeliers, and everything else ca crashing down.
Very soon, the old theater completely caved in, burying Magneto and Mystique beneath it.
After the collapse, dust billowed into the sky.
Reacher, Roscoe, Neagley, and the other soldiers were positioned around the old theater, so even leaping onto the rooftops of nearby buildings, their gazes locked tightly onto the collapsed structure.
Reacher's burly body stood at the edge of a balcony, with Neagley and Roscoe beside him.
"Did that old bastard slip into the underground city?" Neagley asked from where she crouched nearby, wearing a windbreaker with twin pistols at her waist.
"He didn't get the chance. Look," Roscoe's lips curved slightly as she lifted her delicate chin, signaling for Neagley to look.
Neagley followed her gaze and discovered that at so point, transparent crystals as clear as mirror surfaces had appeared across the surrounding sky.
Because it was night, ordinary people would basically find them difficult to notice.
But a super soldier like Neagley could naturally see them clearly. She smiled. "The BOSS is here."
Mirror Dinsion magic. Magic was not classified information among the soldiers of the two warbands, and they also knew that their BOSS had learned quite a few spells.
Neagley was very clear on what mirror magic did.
Naturally, she knew Matthew had arrived.
By pulling them into the Mirror Dinsion, his aning was obvious.
Take down that old bastard.
Gang up on him hard. No need to be polite.
"I just love the BOSS's personality. I love him to death. Later, I absolutely have to give him a hard kiss."
Neagley stood up and stretched her body.
Especially her fingers.
It was done. She had just jabbed Magneto once, and that magnetic-field power truly had sothing to it. Had her body not been tough enough, that finger of hers probably would have been gone.
As for whether those words had been ant for Matthew to hear, only Neagley herself knew.
"Are you sure that's not a punishnt?" Roscoe joked.
Now that their greatest insurance had arrived, morale had already soared through the roof.
"Heh. Am I that bad?" Neagley smiled confidently. Although her skin was dark, it was different from the pitch-black complexion of ordinary Black people. It was more like a bronze tone.
After being injected with the serum, and through continuous training, her level of life had been evolving without pause.
Her complexion had gradually beco darker, while her figure and facial features were evolving toward perfection.
This was an inevitable trend.
A constant leap in the level of life ant that the underlying genetic code was also being optimized again and again, and that optimization was an all-around enhancent.
The underlying genetic code included reproduction.
For the sake of easier reproduction, human aesthetics were contained within the genetic code.
Often, the better a person looked, the better their genes were.
In other words, evolution also included optimizing appearance.
If the old Neagley could at most be considered fairly good-looking among Black won, the heroic type, then the current her was a Black beauty.
For example, Storm from the X-n was a standard Black beauty.
Neagley was no worse.
Reacher listened to the two won joking without any change in expression. Then he suddenly said, "That old bastard is coming out."
Boom!
The mont his words fell, the old theater, which had collapsed and was settling into calm, erupted with surging electric light. Countless broken stones and rocks all floated into the air.
Along with steel bars and dense clusters of tal particles, Magneto's figure drifted up from within.
He looked like a god.
However, this god's aged face was terrifyingly gloomy.
Floating in mid-air, he scanned the soldiers on the nearby rooftops, all of whom stared back with killing intent. Rage burned in his heart.
"What exactly have you done?"
"Where… is this?"
Magneto's seemingly baffled words were perfectly clear to Reacher and the others.
They all understood that Magneto's earlier outburst, which destroyed the old theater, had probably been an attempt to escape into the underground city through the ventilation shaft on the stage.
After all, with Magneto's ability, as long as he could flee into the underground city, escaping from everyone's pursuit afterward would not be difficult.
Magneto's idea had been very good, and it fit his sharp mind and judgnt perfectly.
Unfortunately, their BOSS had acted.
Inside the Mirror Dinsion, the BOSS was God. With a single thought, he could alter the terrain, including the underground city.
Magneto had probably just been about to take Mystique and Sabretooth Victor, whose head had been crushed, down through the opening, only to discover that all around him was a thick layer of wall.
The underground city was gone.
And the ones who had vanished along with it were not just the underground city. Mystique and Sabretooth had likely disappeared as well.
The senses of soldiers like Reacher far surpassed those of ordinary people. Since they could neither hear Mystique's heartbeat nor sense her presence, they knew this was their Boss's doing.
"Ah-oh. Looks like we've been locked inside an octagon." Neagley wore an appreciative expression.
She loved seeing enemies break down in confusion. It was simply too amusing.
"Astartes, Raven, the exam officially begins."
"Objective: Defeat Magneto."
"Loser has to wash socks for a month."
