Capítulo 1886: Chapter 1863: Too Many People Break the Rules

“Justin is not dead, he went into hiding, but do you know what the biggest discovery is?”

“What?”

“The reason for the internal strife in the Cicero Family, and why Justin was attacked by other family mbers, is that the old head of the Cicero Family, before dying, passed the position of head to Justin. Not to soone more powerful, not to soone who perford better, but to Justin, a small figure in the Cicero Family.”

Gao Yang was taken aback for a mont, then said, “Wow, what’s this? A modern version of court intrigue?”

“This is a family feud, but you have to understand, Italians are very family-oriented. Whether it’s the Mafia or so ancient family, internal strife rarely happens. Before an old godfather dies, a successor is chosen, and regardless of other family mbers’ recognition, they would choose to obey. However, this internal strife in the Cicero Family is very unusual; it’s the first ti in their history, and the impact is significant with very serious consequences.”

“How serious?”

“The world’s largest underground intelligence network, independent of any national intelligence network, might split. Do you think that’s a big impact?”

“Just because of one Justin?”

“No, Justin is just the catalyst. Angelo Cicero, the current number one figure in the Cicero Family, and Diego Cicero, the number two, both had high hopes of getting the godfather’s position. But they didn’t. Justin got the position that should have belonged to the two of them, so the internal strife happened. Angelo and Diego tead up to oust Justin, but now the problem arises, who will beco the head, Angelo or Diego?”

“So the feud will continue and might escalate?”

“Exactly, the legitimate heir is gone, Justin is not dead but has run away, and it seems he has no hope of taking down his two brothers from the sa family. But once an internal strife starts, it’s hard to stop. Angelo and Diego, either one backs down, one dies, or they split and form separate systems. But regardless, the Cicero Family, this massive intelligence network untethered to any nation, will inevitably fracture.”

“Wow, the consequences do seem severe, but this doesn’t seem to affect much. I just want to know where Justin is.”

“No one knows where Justin is. Moreover, the Cicero Family’s split greatly affects you. Where do you think the intelligence you easily obtained ca from? Let tell you, if the Cicero Family splits, everyone who relies on this family for intelligence will be severely impacted. No one knows what will happen when an originally large and well-structured network disintegrates. One plus one is sotis greater than two, and two minus one is sotis zero, even less than zero. What if these two forces start fighting each other? We must be prepared for intelligence not being as easily accessible as before.”

Gao Yang sighed, “We can’t interfere with this; we can only hope the Cicero Family ends its internal conflict soon. Seriously, what’s up with the underworld lately? Lots of people are breaking the rules and causing chaos.”

After hanging up the phone, Gao Yang helplessly said to the people around him, “Justin isn’t in a good situation. This guy is actually the heir of the Cicero Family, but unfortunately, his two brothers weren’t satisfied and tead up to force him out. If Justin were killed, that would be one thing, but he ran off. You know, as long as the legitimate heir is alive, the usurpers can’t be at ease, so I reckon Justin won’t survive long, or he might already be dead and we just don’t know it.”

Glolov said leisurely, “This has nothing to do with us. Honestly, I’ve never liked Justin. In fact, I don’t like any intelligence dealer; they make more money than us just by talking.”

Gao Yang said softly, “That’s jealousy.”

“Yes, it’s jealousy. They make more money by talking than we do by risking our lives. It’s not fair.”

After Glolov straightforwardly admitted, he clapped his hands and said, “We’ve eaten, let’s go back and let soone else eat.”

Jerry murmured quietly, “You guys can eat this food.”

Glolov patted Jerry on the shoulder and said with emotion, “Being able to eat hot als during warti, be content.”

Li Jinfang was also in a low mood, so he wasn’t interested in talking. Gao Yang, however, said emotionally, “Jerry, if you had Liang Dong’s skills, and we didn’t need a big kitchen and many, many ingredients to cook, we wouldn’t have to eat this cauldron food. But unfortunately, everyone loves French cuisine, but we need the right conditions to make it, right?”

Jerry had nothing to say, while Glolov quietly asked, “What about that nutritionist and the two chefs with him?”

“They’ve taken care of you for so long, so of course, send them to a safe place before letting them go back themselves, Nate doesn’t need a nutritionist.”

As they were talking and walking back, Gao Yang’s phone rang. He glanced at the number and said quietly, “Poloneshenko, everyone be quiet, hello?”

“We got in touch, but there’s a problem. You might not be able to leave until the battle over there ends.”

Gao Yang’s face turned ugly upon hearing this and he said loudly, “Why?”

“The situation at the front line is sothing I can’t fully control. Alright, I’ll be straight with you. The situation over there is rather complicated. So people are not in Ukraine’s combat sequence and are not under our command. Our front-line commanders can’t grasp the whole situation. If you insist on leaving, so accidents may occur. To ensure your safety, the front-line commanders, including those from the 72nd Brigade, hmm, in short, please wait until the battle settles down before leaving; that’s the safest result.”

Poloneshenko’s words carried a lot of information. Gao Yang didn’t say anything; he was analyzing what this newly acquired information ant.

“Please don’t worry too much. The situation isn’t unchangeable. I’ve already inford the 72nd Brigade about your situation. As soon as a suitable opportunity presents itself, soone will arrange for your departure. I will notify you then. Also, to provide more security for your people, the 72nd Brigade’s commander has already inford the Khartsyzk personnel. Although you can’t leave yet, even if you encounter, um, uncontrolled groups, as long as you reveal your identity, you shouldn’t be in danger. That point should still be guaranteed.”

“Alright, what’s our identity, and how should we communicate it?”
