Luna walked all the way to her forr classroom. Everyone she encountered along the way greeted her, and Luna responded to each one chanically. Having been with Loren all this ti, she actually didn't have a strong sense of her current status. Now, she understood.
A feeling of unreality followed. Luna found it difficult to connect her present self with her past self.
When Luna pushed open the door, all eyes instantly converged on her.
This reminded Luna of so unpleasant mories. The last ti this happened was when she was late because Sylvia had her minions cut off a section of Luna's hair, and Luna had to trim her hair properly before returning to class.
Luna still vividly rembered the mocking looks in her classmates' eyes that ti. However, the emotion in their eyes now had transford into envy, jealousy, or even fear.
Especially Sylvia. She was, after all, the princess, and had returned to class after the storm had passed.
Upon seeing Luna, she imdiately shrank under her desk, terrified of facing retribution.
Luna didn't pay her any mind either, directly taking a seat next to her friend.
"Jessica, long ti no see..."
"Long ti no see. Where have you been playing with your Master ntor all this ti? I went to your house several tis and couldn't find you. Your mother said you went to another country with Master ntor."
Jessica teased. Hearing her talk like this actually made Luna feel a bit more at ease. It ant that, at the very least, Jessica's attitude towards her hadn't changed along with Luna's status.
"Stop joking. I ca to find you because I have sothing..."
Class was currently in session, yet the two of them just chatted away in the back row. Even if the teacher saw this, he wouldn't dare say anything. Ever since Loren's visit, the entire academy had been shrouded in Loren's shadow.
These teachers were nothing compared to Loren, especially since he taught the Supernatural Creatures class, the very sa subject Loren had lectured on that day.
Knowing that Luna was Loren's student, he absolutely dared not disturb her. He even lowered his voice while lecturing, afraid of bothering Luna.
"Is it about the relationship between you and Master ntor?"
A knowing, matchmaker-like smile hung on Jessica's face, making Luna feel a wave of awkwardness. But she had no one else to confide in, so she could only lay everything out to Jessica.
Only in front of her friend would Luna completely let go of her reserve. She explained everything in minute detail, even pulling out a diary she carried with her to check when she got flustered. It ticulously recorded the exact day and mont Loren had patted her head.
These things had been bottled up in Luna's heart for a long ti. She talked for a long ti in one go, until class ended.
"..."
Luna felt a bit awkward. Jessica, in order to listen to her talk, hadn't paid any attention to the lesson at all.
These ordinary people weren't like nobles who had so many fallback options. Getting into this academy was a trendous opportunity for them. Their talent was also inferior to those nobles. If they didn't work a little harder, they would truly be ruined.
So Luna felt sowhat guilty and spoke up:
"Jessica... let treat you to a al. You can also help figure things out..."
"Alright. We have no classes this afternoon anyway. This kind of problem is exactly what you should ask ."
"Do you have any romantic experience?"
"If we don't bring up sore points, we can still be good friends..."
...
Luna led Jessica out of the academy. Jessica, in a way, was also riding on Luna's coattails, looking down her nose at those noble students who usually looked down on her. With Luna by her side, they didn't dare utter a single peep.
Luna didn't put too much thought into choosing a place to eat either. After leaving the academy, she just casually entered a high-end restaurant. When Luna headed in that direction, Jessica was startled.
The two sat down. Jessica glanced at the nu and got even more scared. Leaning close to Luna's ear, she whispered:
"Are you sure it's okay for us to co here? I've only ever seen Sylvia co here with her minions..."
"It's fine..."
As she spoke, Luna placed several gold coins on the table. Jessica imdiately fell silent.
This was Luna's saved-up allowance. Loren had always been giving her an allowance. Loren's thod of giving her allowance was to casually grab a handful of gold coins and place them in her hand.
The allowance Loren casually gave her was money her parents could never earn in a lifeti.
Luna had tried to refuse, but Loren would forcefully stuff it into her hand.
So Luna hadn't spent a single penny. She gave so to her parents, but the vast majority was saved by Luna. She thought that if Loren ever needed money one day, the money she had saved might help him in his ti of need.
"Then I won't hold back."
Jessica picked up the nu. Although she said she wouldn't hold back, in the end, she only ordered the cheapest dish.
She never felt jealous of Luna; she was only happy for her. That's why Luna ca to her.
Right now, Luna wasn't really in the mood to eat either. She just wanted to hear Jessica's opinion. Luna had already explained the situation pretty thoroughly during class.
"You haven't told Master ntor about your upcoming eighteenth birthday, have you?"
"No..."
"I knew it."
Jessica's face was full of calm composure. She wasn't surprised by Luna's behavior.
"So, do you plan to invite Master ntor?"
"I want to..."
"Then just say it!"
Jessica suddenly slapped the table, but quickly rembered this was a high-end restaurant and imdiately felt a wave of embarrassnt.
The people nearby initially wanted to say sothing to her, but soone noticed that the person next to Jessica was Luna, Loren's student, and imdiately sat back down obediently.
"Your birthday is only two days away. If you hurry back now to tell Master ntor, there's still ti."
"No need for all that trouble. Master ntor's pet crow is temporarily staying with . I can have the crow deliver a letter back for anyti..."
Hearing this information, Jessica sighed and then said:
"Master ntor really likes his pet, right? Since he's willing to entrust his pet to you, it ans he pays a lot of attention to you and is very worried about your safety!"
"This..."
"You wanted to tell you if you have a chance, right? I'll tell you now."
Jessica directly cut off Luna's speech because she knew Luna would just hem and haw for ages without saying anything substantial.
At that mont, the attendant was already bringing the dishes. Originally, Jessica had ordered the cheapest, but what the attendant served was the most luxurious set al.
"Was there a mistake?"
Jessica asked. The attendant, however, shook his head and spoke:
"This is from our owner, a gift for you."
Not taking advantage of a freebie would be foolish. Seeing this, Jessica didn't say anything more. After taking a bite of food, she continued:
"I'm telling you, you've already won. Won completely!"
