[3rd POV]
"What do you an you got a damn Ferrari!?" Claire yelled at her daughter, who groaned and leaned back. She wanted to give Billie a glare for putting her like that, but she understood that she kind of deserved it.
"It's exactly what she said mom. I bought a Ferrari, my dream car actually. It's all ready to be picked up, I just have to go by the local dealership later on to get it. I even customized it and everything. It's purple. I was originally going to go with red but I decided that that was basic" Haley replied rapidly, deciding to try to distract her mother with that information in hopes that she was not going to be yelled at more than she already had been.
Her hopes were just hopes.
"That doesn't make a difference Haley! You bought a Ferrari, a car that's worth hundreds of thousands of dollars at least! Not only that, but you got it without informing or your father, and we can't just let you do that!" Claire yelled at her daughter, while Billie sat back sowhat awkwardly.
"What your mother said. And I'd like to add that Lamborghini's are way better" Phil added his own two sense, which only got a response in the form of a sharp glare from his wife, a snort from Billie, and an eye roll from his daughter.
"Mom, I am eighteen now. I am old enough that I can buy my own things, and own my own things. Legally you can't really do anything about it, regardless of how much you want to. And while I love you mom, I really do, I won't let you dictate my decisions from now on. I appreciate your concern and help, but I'm buying this car" Haley replied to her mother, who looked shocked at the words that were leaving her daughter.
They were...mature. Very mature. Not only that, but she seed absolutely resolute with what she was saying, and Billie knew the mont that her girlfriend had said these words to Claire, that this was going to explode into an even bigger argunt.
Because Claire was not the type to back down.
"Yeah well until you move out and have your own place, you will follow our damn rules! And one of those rules is not letting you spend egregious amounts of money on a car you probably won't even use!" Claire said in response, giving her daughter a fierce glare.
Haley returned it "Then it's a good thing that I won't be living here much longer".
When Billie heard her girlfriend say these words, she let out a sigh knowing what was about to happen. She had hoped that they would bring it up in a more...you know, comfortable and calm atmosphere, but it would seem that Haley has decided she wanted to bring it up now.
"W-What? What is that supposed to an?" Claire asked, her rage disappearing at these words, and her voice quietening noticeably.
"You're moving out?" Phil added, eyes wide in shock.
"Not yet, no. But Billie and I had talked about it. And I want to move in with her, to be with her. We had planned on bringing this up in a way that won't cause mom to pop a blood vessel, but obviously that didn't work. Mostly because we actually might need your help finding a place, Dad" Haley replied, as Claire just sat in gobsmacked silence.
"A place? You want to buy a ho with Billie? No offense honey, but you two are...young, and have only been together for a short while. Are you sure that you want to rush into sothing like that?" Phil asked, knowing that trying to persuade his daughter out of this path was...not going to work.
"Mmhmm. I know you might not believe , dad. But I-I'm confident that what I have with Billie, what we have together...it's not going to end. This isn't like when I was with Dylan or any of those other idiots. This is real, dad. And I want it to last for the rest of my life. So, finding a house to live in together is a part of it" Haley replied, before continuing.
"Plus it's not like we are getting married. So if we ever did break up - which is never going to happen - then it would be as simple as moving out. Billie's already said she'll be buying the place herself" Haley added, as Billie nodded.
"I planned on eventually getting myself a house either way, so this just made it an easier decision. What we need your help with is finding a nice place. You know, one that is not too big and not too small. Price isn't really a problem for , but we both figured that since you have connections and sell houses for a living, you might be able to help us" Billie said, which made Phil nod slowly.
"What's your target price? How many rooms? Any add ons you want? What about acre's?" Phil asked a list of simple pieces of information he needs to know.
"Preferably? Like 5 or 6 rooms, not including the add ons. We need rooms for a recording studio, ho gym, ga room, and stuff like that at the very least. And a place with a sizeable front and backyard would be nice, since I do actually want to get a dog at so point" Billie replied.
"A-Are you really serious about this, Haley? You-you two haven't even-" "Yes I am serious mom. And yes, mom, we have" Haley cut her off, knowing exactly what she was about to say.
Claire cringed at that new information, before Phil cut in.
"I can look into it. But for a place with that many add ons it might be a bit bigger than you are wanting, and a heck of a lot more expensive" Phil said, knowing that the argunt was basically over.
That and he had to actually think about what they were saying. There was a few houses that he knew of that could work, but they'd need to tour it first. And he had no idea how big they actually wanted it to be.
He wanted to help them find a ho, because then at the very least he could help them make the right decision. And he could help them learn a bit more about what's necessary when dealing with hos and stuff.
He knew that Billie owned so apartnt complexes and other businesses, but that was quite different than owning real estate like a ho. So he imagined that him helping her learn could be useful to her growing little Empire.
An Empire that Haley was already getting involved in slowly but surely. It was only a matter of ti before she too started to invest in things like Billie, since the girl would likely be teaching her a bit about it.
"Mom, I know it's...sad to hear that I want to move out, but at least I'm not going to be far! We want to live in LA for a lot longer, and we figured we could get a place within 20 or 30 minutes from here, like Grandpa Jay's" Haley said to her mother who was silent.
"I-I know honey, it's just a lot to hear that my little girl wants to move out. I-I just can't believe that you are leaving. I figured you'd still be here for another few years at least" Claire said, looking like she was about to cry. Haley's eyes softened at this, as she moved forward and hugged her mother.
"I know mom, but I won't be moving out just yet. And we won't be far, I promise" Haley said, hugging her mother as the older woman hugged her back.
Phil had a small smile on his face at the interaction. All the while Billie was watching with a smile of her own, all the while, she had only one thought on her mind.
'That went a lot better than I was expecting'
