"Bitch!"
Joel Quinn grew anxious. He shouted loudly, raising the knife in his hand, ready to stab Claire Sullivan’s back.
"Mom!"
Serena Sullivan shouted urgently.
She always hated herself for losing the use of her legs, unable to walk.
Seeing Claire being violently attacked by Joel Quinn, her heart was filled with a sense of helplessness. She wanted to rush forward to save Claire but fell heavily from the wheelchair to the ground.
Her outstretched hand was just a short distance from the knife, unable to reach it. Dragging her useless legs, she could only crawl forward.
Crawl! But how could she be faster than Joel Quinn’s descending knife?
Serena raised her head, only able to watch the knife plunge into Claire’s body, up and down, blood red everywhere.
"Help! Quickly, soone!"
Pain rapidly spread through Claire’s body. She saw Serena rolling on the ground. She dared not let go of Joel Quinn; even if today she were stabbed like a beehive by him, she wouldn’t dare to release him.
Soon people rushed in.
Joel Quinn saw Claire still holding onto him tightly. His eyes, lit by rage, t her hands.
The knife ca down again, and Serena grabbed a cell phone nearby, throwing it fiercely at Joel Quinn’s face.
The phone smashed against him, causing Joel Quinn to tremble with pain, but the knife was still coming down, its sharp blade slicing across Claire’s hand.
"Miss!"
Mrs. Chen rushed in with others, seeing blood everywhere and Claire clinging tightly to Joel Quinn, her face turned pale with fright, hurriedly asking the others to capture the escaping Joel Quinn.
Joel Quinn was pinned to the ground. He looked at Claire, who had just released him, realizing she bore the pain and held onto his legs tightly.
"Serena!"
With her senses intact, Claire climbed up from the ground. Her quick movents barely showed any injury.
Serena was helped up by the servants. She was like a puppet, allowing them to arrange her. Upon opening her eyes again, she saw Claire’s face pale and, looking down, saw Claire’s hand covered in blood.
"Let’s go to the hospital."
"Alright!"
Claire responded.
"It’s okay; we’ll head to the hospital right away."
Claire reached over, touching Serena’s cold hand, realizing her hand was bloodied from Joel Quinn’s knife. Only then did she feel pain in her hand and back.
"You don’t need to save ."
Serena replied with a smile, asking Claire to go to the hospital.
Claire shook her head repeatedly with tears, refusing to not save Serena even if it cost her life.
Back then, she fought so hard to bring Serena into the world, hoping for her happiness, not for Serena to beco like this.
Now, with a chance to make ands, if it ans losing her life, so be it!
"Serena, I’m sorry."
After saying this, Claire fainted.
Serena imdiately asked Mrs. Chen to carry Claire out first, following behind in her wheelchair.
"Mom, you really don’t need to save ."
If Claire truly exchanged her life to keep her alive, it wouldn’t be worth it.
"Madam." Sister Ann rushed in, seeing the bloodstains on Serena’s neck, thinking her injuries weren’t as severe as Claire’s, about to breathe a sigh of relief when suddenly, Serena closed her eyes and fainted.
At this point, Sister Ann and The Sullivan Family panicked even more.
That day, chaos reigned at The Sullivan Residence, sending Joel Quinn to the police station and Serena and Claire to the hospital.
The news of the mother-daughter duo being stabbed by Joel Quinn quickly spread throughout Solaria.
