Now reading: Chapter 148 - 111: [Drug Tester] [Soldier Nurturer] from My Professions Have Too Much Personality, a Eastern novel by Tuan You Yuan.

"It feels similar to the resonance I had with the last profession, just much weaker," he said, holding back. Last ti, he wanted to get the Saint profession as quickly as possible, so he had finished it in three days. This ti, however, he didn’t plan on being so fast.

"Prove it to ." Sang Hanhai pointed to the Holy Word Stone. He appeared amiable, which was because he genuinely had a good impression of Su Chen.

But that didn’t an he couldn’t lose his temper.

Sang Hanhai was a little suspicious. ’What is Su Chen’s deal? Is he just grandstanding?’

’It doesn’t seem like it. Could a Celestial-Appointed Translator really resonate with all Holy Word Stones?’

He felt that was even more unlikely. His gaze fixed on Su Chen as he walked toward the Holy Word Stone.

Su Chen put on a show of picking up the Holy Word Stone. He had no idea what resonating was supposed to feel like, so he just furrowed his brow and made a constipated face.

"Professor Sang, Su Chen might just be experiencing so sort of illusion. The material of the Holy Word Stones is special; things like this have happened before..." Jin Yunxuan spoke up from the side.

Unfortunately, before he could finish, Sang Hanhai raised a hand to cut him off. "Say no more."

Jin Yunxuan shrugged. It wasn’t like he was genuinely trying to make excuses for Su Chen; he was just making a token gesture. The words had been said, and that was enough.

A mont later, Su Chen let out a long breath and said, "It feels like... it’s digesting sothing..."

Jin Yunxuan’s expression changed in an instant, his face a mask of utter astonishnt. Before Su Chen had arrived, he and Sang Hanhai had been arguing over whether the process was "digestion" or "creation."

’This guy... can he really resonate with this Holy Word Stone? And by extension, all of them?’

’Impossible!’

Jin Yunxuan subconsciously refused to believe it, feeling an indescribable sense of defeat.

The Translation Departnt’s entrance examinations were even more stringent than the Judicial Court’s; they only recruited one person every two or three years. His own professional Talent wasn’t considered high—only Canyin rank.

But his Talent for ancient languages and translating Holy Word Stones had been praised by several old professors.

The nearby staff mbers exchanged glances, finding the situation utterly inconceivable.

’He can actually resonate with it!’

Sang Hanhai’s remaining eye twitched, and the deep furrows in his brow gradually smoothed out. He looked at Jin Yunxuan. "Ah, Xiao Jin... it seems I was right."

Jin Yunxuan forced a smile. "Your experience is profound, sir. I still have much to learn."

’The information I gave them... they must have already deciphered most of it.’ Seeing their reactions, Su Chen understood.

"Su Chen..." Sang Hanhai mused, then turned to Jin Yunxuan. "Xiao Jin, you can go back for now."

Jin Yunxuan’s expression flickered. He wanted to learn more about Su Chen’s situation, but Sang Hanhai had already dismissed him. He had no choice but to turn and leave.

"If anyone dares to leak a single word of what happened today, they will be punished according to the confidentiality clause." Sang Hanhai’s voice turned cold as he swept his gaze over all the staff mbers present.

Su Chen could clearly see so of them tremble.

The support staff who worked here had been ticulously selected and were not the types to have ostentatious personalities.

They had also signed non-disclosure agreents. Generous compensation was inevitably accompanied by a steep price for breach of contract.

Without another word, Sang Hanhai led Su Chen to a lounge. His expression was complex, shifting several tis before he finally couldn’t help but say, "It’s actually true."

"The essence of a Celestial-Appointed Translator isn’t resonating with a profession, but with the Holy Word Stones themselves. It’s just that other people’s resonance isn’t strong enough..."

Without Su Chen needing to say anything, he had already co up with an explanation on his own.

"Is that so..." Su Chen feigned bewildernt and couldn’t help but suggest, "Why don’t we find a few more Holy Word Stones to test it out?"

"There are no more," Sang Hanhai said, waving his hand dismissively.

"No more?" Su Chen’s voice rose, his attempt to get more freebies having failed.

Sang Hanhai explained, "For us in the Translation Departnt, the only value in a Holy Word Stone is the profession it records. Once the profession is deciphered and confird to be safe..."

"...the Holy Word Stone itself has no more value to us. Other departnts need the material itself, so we’ve already submitted all the ones we had."

"Besides, even if we don’t have the old ones, there will be new ones in the future. We’ll have a chance to verify it then."

Sang Hanhai didn’t seem to mind, but Su Chen realized that the value of the Holy Word Stones was even greater than he had anticipated.

"In that case, if I help you decipher this profession, can I trade it for the Soldier Nurturer?" Su Chen asked.

"You’re still thinking about that, huh?" Sang Hanhai seed distracted. "We’ll talk after we’ve assigned it a rating..."

Su Chen was speechless. ’That profession is the only thing I care about!’

"Do not tell anyone about this," Sang Hanhai said, suddenly focused, his voice low and serious. "And that includes Xia Hanshi."

"Understood." Su Chen nodded solemnly, trying his best to look like he was listening intently.

"You may go back for now."

Unexpectedly, Sang Hanhai dismissed him.

"Uh, should I co back tomorrow then?" Su Chen asked tentatively.

"Yes." Sang Hanhai nodded. Only then did Su Chen cautiously make his way out. Just as he reached the door of the lounge, he hesitated and turned back.

"I heard people say that Holy Word Stones are an important dium for communicating with the Deceitful Gods. Do we in Ying Feng have other uses for them?"

Sang Hanhai still seed a bit dazed. It took him a mont to respond. "Do you know how the various subordinate cities are able to break through the mist and communicate with Ying Feng remotely?"

He didn’t wait for Su Chen to ask before providing the answer: "They consu Holy Word Stones to do it. Of course, the process is quite complex. You just need to understand the gist of it."

"And that is just one of the uses for a Holy Word Stone."

"Then it really is important..." Su Chen looked enlightened on the surface, but inwardly he sighed. ’So that stuff really is an essential commodity. Sang Hanhai wasn’t lying to .’

From what he knew, Southwind had to contact Ying Feng more than ten tis a month. Otherwise, with such a great distance between them, Ying Feng wouldn’t even know if Southwind were to be suddenly wiped out.

’I guess I won’t be seeing any of those old Holy Word Stones.’

Watching Su Chen leave, Sang Hanhai sank into a chair, looking lost in thought. After a long while, he stood up again and hurried out of the lab, heading deeper into the Translation Departnt.

After a series of twists and turns, he arrived at a small grove deep within the Translation Departnt’s grounds. Hidden among the overlapping trees stood a small building.

"Senior Brother..." He knocked and entered, making his way to a study.

An old man with a full head of white hair and a matching beard sat before a desk. In his left hand, he held a small jade awl, and in his right, he cradled a palm-sized stone.

It flickered with a luster similar to a Holy Word Stone, yet it bore no words or symbols.

"Ah, Hanhai..." The old man set down the stone and sighed. "This Divine Language... it’s truly difficult."
