Rasa walked back into Sunagakure with the full Uchiha clan genealogy in hand.
First thing he did was line it up against Danzo's so-called evidence. And holy shit, he found holes—more than one.
One na, Uchiha En, had already been dead and buried in Konoha before the rebellion even started.
Another, Uchiha Haru, was only three years old.
Danzo wasn't the type to make rookie mistakes like that.
Rasa figured so underling had cooked the list without checking the real family records. Half the nas were legit, half were bullshit inventions. The two fakes just happened to match real entries in the Uchiha tree.
No hesitation. Rasa had the findings printed in the Ninja World Big Events Weekly—prominent spot, not the headline.
The headline stayed on Grass Village, laying out every dirty cri so Sunagakure's invasion looked completely justified and righteous.
He opened with a short fictional story as the hook.
"Extra! Extra! Ninja World Big Events Weekly!"
Newspaper kids shouted up and down the streets. Sunagakure still wasn't charging for the paper—just running ads and paying the kids a little running money.
"One copy."
A young guy tossed a bill and snatched the paper.
"Grass Village got exactly what they deserved."
"Tiny village acting that cocky, pulling that kind of shit? They really thought the big dogs wouldn't bite back."
"Now they're paying for it."
"Serves them right."
Plenty of people were eating it up.
The guy kept reading.
First the story: a little girl supposedly bullied by so middle-aged man. At first the reader was pissed at the guy and sorry for the girl. The man gets dragged into court and the reader cheers.
Then sothing felt wrong.
"She described everything perfectly—the shape of my cellar, exactly what was inside it… but my house doesn't even have a cellar."
That's when it clicked. The "innocent" little girl had frad the man the whole ti.
He kept going.
This was Danzo's big public announcent about the Uchiha mbers supposedly involved in Rin Nohara's death.
Two nas were highlighted in bold.
Uchiha En.
Uchiha Haru.
The guy's eyes went wide.
"Wait… does this an Konoha's whole 'truth' is fake?"
"It wasn't the Uchiha at all?"
"They blad Uchiha En and Uchiha Haru, but En was already dead and Haru is three years old. How the fuck could they have done it?"
"Konoha's report is straight-up bullshit!"
The story spread like wildfire.
"Sand Village!"
"Rasa!"
Danzo was losing his mind.
"What the hell is that desert rat trying to pull?"
Sunagakure's official reply was cold and professional: the Ninja World Big Events Weekly was about truth and hype. This wasn't personal against Danzo—they'd print the sa dirt on anyone.
If the paper didn't run juicy stuff like this, what was the point?
If Danzo had anything that hot, he was welco to submit it. The Weekly took submissions from everyone.
"Get Rasa on the line!"
Saki's answer was ice.
"This is small potatoes. No need to bother Lord Kazekage. I can handle it myself."
Danzo hung up and headed straight for the Hokage Tower.
Hiruzen Sarutobi shook his head the second Danzo walked in.
"Danzo, you've disappointed . You can't even handle sothing this simple. What's the difference between you and Homura?"
Danzo was pissed—he was still light-years ahead of Homura Mitokado—but he had to admit this screw-up was on him.
"Hiruzen, I ssed up. Those two nas were wrong. I'll have a clarification out today and—"
"Put it in the main Konoha paper," Hiruzen cut in. "Give the text and I'll personally hand it to Homura."
"…Fine. Thanks, Hiruzen."
"Get out."
Danzo turned and left without another word.
Homura Mitokado still hadn't landed a killer story, but Konoha Weekly kept printing on schedule—three days behind the Sand paper.
Right now he sat in his office, flipping through the latest Ninja World Big Events Weekly, studying the layout.
When he hit the piece on Danzo, his mouth curved into a satisfied smirk.
Ever since the Root incident, the two of them had been at each other's throats. Watching Danzo eat shit always brightened his day.
"Got to hand it to them—the Sand Village really knows how to run a paper. Not just the story, the whole package pulls you in way better than ours."
"Our Leaf just doesn't have the talent."
He blad Hiruzen for not giving him enough support to recruit real writers.
"Sa teacher, but Hiruzen always favored Danzo over ."
Homura glanced toward the Hokage Tower with a flash of resentnt, then went back to the paper.
The One Piece-inspired story had reached its second chapter.
"This one's solid too. It's got hooks. Can't wait for the next part…"
"Damn it. How does the Sand Village keep finding this kind of talent? The Leaf's got nothing."
Homura was straight-up jealous.
"Sailing the open sea, exploring, chasing treasure… becoming legends overnight. Just reading it makes you want to drop everything and go."
"But this Navy… isn't that a jab at the Hidden Mist Village?"
Over in Kirigakure, Yagura read the sa lines and felt the sting.
"The sea belongs to everyone?"
"Treasure has no owner?"
"Anyone can take what they want?"
"So my Hidden Mist is just pretending to be the good guys while we're actually the villains?"
"Sand Village… you vicious bastards."
"This is straight-up character assassination."
"Too far."
"Completely shaless."
"You're trying to turn the civilians of the Land of Water against us!"
"Son of a bitch!"
"We need our own damn newspaper."
