On the Other Side of the Village
Peter walked with Nami slung over his shoulder, heading toward what appeared to be an orange grove.
Nami, who was usually mischievous, had fallen into an abrupt silence, piquing Peter’s curiosity.
"What’s wrong? Where’d my troublemaking kitten go? Did you wake up from your tantrum and realize how embarrassing you’ve been?"
Nami sighed in response. "It’s not that... This grove belonged to my mother."
"Oh!" Peter finally rembered—it must’ve been ntioned in the ani. "I don’t know much about her, but I think she’d be proud of you."
Nami lifted her nose haughtily. "Hmph! Of course that old hag would be! If only that shark had kept his promise, I’d have saved the village single-handedly!"
"Sorry for your loss," Peter offered gently, recognizing the lancholy beneath her bravado.
Nami stayed silent for a mont before finally speaking.
"It’s fine. If she were here, she’d scold for taking on so much responsibility alone... But deep down, she’d be proud of and Nojiko."
Peter smirked, lightening the mood. "So, what’s your reward gonna be? Gonna map out the orange trees?"
Nami laughed at his teasing. "Haha! If trees paid berries, I’d have charted them already!" She paused, tapping her chin thoughtfully. "By the way, Peter—"

Peter nodded, joining in on the joke. "That girl’s always bored. Wouldn’t surprise if she started trimming the trees’ nails if they had any!"
Pfft—HAHAHA! Nami burst out laughing, already picturing it.
"By the way, mind putting down? It’s embarrassing talking while I’m dangling in the air—Eeek~!" Her complaint was cut short by a sharp smack on her rear.
"Gotta discipline you properly, or who knows what you’ll say about in public next!"
Peter stopped in front of a modest house adorned with roses and trees, giving it a quaint charm.
"Wait—!" Before either could speak, a distant shout interrupted them.
Peter turned around while Nami lifted her head, squinting at the horizon.
"Nojiko?!" Nami gasped in surprise.
Hah~ Hah~ Nojiko panted, hands on her knees as she caught her breath.

Peter and Nami gave her a mont before bombarding her with questions.

Peter stayed silent, watching the sisters bicker.
"Nojiko, that’s rude! He’s our savior!" Nami defended, but Nojiko scoffed.
"That’s different! I’m grateful, but that doesn’t an he can make such indecent demands!"
Nojiko’s face flushed crimson.
Nami noticed and smirked mischievously.
"Ohhh~ I see! Rember our pact? Sa husband if we ever found one!"
"W-Wha—?! How do you even rember that?!" Nojiko’s face turned scarlet as her thoughts were exposed.
Peter, intrigued, chid in.
"Well then, why not join us? Just be ready to beco part of my crew—I don’t let my won wander far."
He was already admiring her protective nature and beauty.
