Fluffy Zane remained silent. To be honest, she had no idea what ga she could play. It seed... she couldn’t play anything.
William Guillen pulled her arm, leading her to a gambling table. "Sit down, and I’ll teach you how to play."
"No need," Fluffy Zane refused, her tone blunt and indifferent.
"No need? So you already know how to play?"
Fluffy Zane stubbornly pressed her lips together, saying nothing.
"Don’t be difficult. I’ll teach you."
William Guillen signaled the croupier to deal the cards. Fluffy Zane sat quietly as William leaned in and whispered the rules into her ear.
He leaned extrely close. Fluffy Zane couldn’t focus on what he was saying at all; all her senses were heightened. His voice, his breath... and the faint, crisp masculine scent he exuded.
William Guillen repeated the rules twice, but Fluffy Zane showed no reaction. He turned his head, looking at her profile. "Did you hear , Fluffy?"
Fluffy Zane remained silent, giving no response.
His handso face drew closer, and he kissed her cheek. "Fluffy, did you hear?"
A shiver ran through her.
Fluffy Zane’s eyes widened instantly. What was he... doing?
She unconsciously raised her hand and gently stroked the skin where he had kissed her, her fingertips lightly caressing the spot.
He kissed her... Not because she asked, not because she pleaded, but... he did it on his own.
At that mont, it was as if a stone had been cast into the calm lake of her heart, sending ripples spreading out, one after another.
She slowly turned her head, looking at him in stunned confusion, her eyes filled with disbelief.
Watching her dazed and foolish expression, William Guillen chuckled. "It seems this thod is still the most effective."
Fluffy Zane continued to stare at him blankly, her expression endearingly foolish.
He took her head in one hand and turned it to the side. "Stop staring at . Look at the cards."
How could Fluffy Zane possibly pay attention to any cards? In her eyes, in her heart, there was only William Guillen.
This man she had loved for eight years...
What did he an by this?
Was this so small show of guilt, so attempt to compensate her after framing Jim Jones?
Fluffy Zane suddenly laughed. She stood up abruptly and, without warning, turned and walked out.
William Guillen watched her retreating figure, his brows knitting together, and quickly followed her out.
Fluffy Zane walked quickly, but William Guillen still caught up to her easily.
At the bustling entrance of the Golden Wing Palace, William Guillen grabbed her arm, his handso face tinged with impatience. "Where are you going?"
"Let go of !"
"Tell where you’re going first."
Fluffy Zane suddenly spun around, glaring at him. "Where I’m going is none of your business, is it?"
She struggled even harder. "Let go of !"
William Guillen paused, then released her hand. A slight, cold smile touched the corner of his lips. "Where you go, of course, has nothing to do with . I’m just curious, what’s made you suddenly lose your temper like this?"
Last ti, it was because of Jim Jones. And this ti? What was it now?
"You don’t know what it’s about?" Fluffy Zane stared at him unblinkingly. "The despicable things you’ve done—do you really not know, or do you need to remind you?"
Despicable things? William Guillen chuckled inwardly; he’d done plenty of those. Which one could she possibly an?
"Nothing to say?"
"No, I just don’t know which particular despicable thing you’re referring to."
Fluffy Zane trembled with anger. "Do you need to remind you? The despicable thing you did—framing Jim Jones!"
