"Are you concerned about ?" Fluffy Zane asked softly. Because of her illness, her eyes were moist, and she was listless, making her resemble a helpless child.
William Guillen had to suppress his temper. Losing his temper with a patient wasn’t the conduct of a tough man. He endured it.
He glanced at the ti. "I’ll have soone bring you so food. You need to take your dicine later."
With that, he turned and started to walk out.
Fluffy Zane clutched the thin quilt, calling out to his retreating figure, "William Guillen, are you really concerned about ?"
The man stopped. His cold sneer echoed, "Are you blind? If I’m not caring for you, do you think I’m trying to harm you?"
How despicable... Fluffy Zane knew. His gentlemanly deanor and gentle warmth were reserved for outsiders. Only she saw his worst side.
Birds of a feather flock together. When Young Master Shannon used his sharp tongue, he could make people wish they were dead. As Young Master Shannon’s friend, William Guillen was certainly no different.
Fluffy Zane lowered her eyelids, dejected. "It must be because I was blind that I fell for you..."
Otherwise, would she be the person she was today?
Everyone in the Upper Class knew Fluffy Zane had been pursuing William Guillen, and she had been doing so for eight years.
Throughout these eight years, he had never once truly looked at her.
She had beco the enduring joke of Upper Class society and a cautionary tale in the eyes of parents.
What parent would want their precious daughter to shalessly pursue a man who didn’t like her, and for eight long years at that?
It was humiliating just to talk about it!
"What did you say?" William Guillen hadn’t heard her muttering, so he turned back to look at her.
Fluffy Zane obediently lifted her gaze. "I said, I’m so hungry..."
"I’ll go get you sothing to eat right away. Wait for ."
With that, William Guillen left the room.
In less than ten minutes, William Guillen returned with breakfast.
He placed a small tray table on the bed. The breakfast was simple; she was ill and couldn’t eat anything too greasy or spicy.
The white porridge was glistening and thick, accompanied by a few appetizing dishes. It looked quite good.
"Eat." William Guillen placed a spoon by her hand, gesturing for her to eat quickly.
"Oh." Fluffy Zane picked up the spoon. Just as she was about to eat, she saw William Guillen start eating as well.
She looked up at him, puzzled. William Guillen glanced at her sideways. "If you have sothing to say, say it."
"Why are you eating my breakfast?"
William Guillen nearly choked, almost spitting blood from sheer exasperation. He slamd his bowl down on the small tray table, the spoon in his hand rapping against her bowl. "Fluffy Zane, you’re truly heartless! I took care of you all night, so what’s wrong with eating *your* breakfast? I have to go to the company later. Can’t I eat your breakfast now?"
"Why are you so angry? That’s not what I ant." Fluffy Zane wanted to retort sharply, but because of her illness, she was weak, and her words lacked any real force.
"Then what did you an?" William Guillen couldn’t believe he couldn’t manage her!
"Don’t you prefer heavy tastes? Would you eat such a plain breakfast?"
"After being accustod to rich and exotic foods, it’s good to switch to plain porridge and small dishes occasionally."
William Guillen snorted coldly and retrieved his spoon. "Eat your breakfast. Less nonsense."
Fluffy Zane lowered her head and began to eat the porridge. It was soft, thick, and glistening. Paired with the small dishes, it was especially appetizing.
Perhaps it was the breakfast...
