She heard the sound of cars, and her eyebrows rose. She rembered the map and didn’t rember seeing a road. Of course, there could be a pathway, but it was hidden by the forest. However, if so, then it couldn’t be a wide road.
Naia just went to follow the sound and, sure enough, she saw that there was a makeshift road just wide enough for one car. At this ti, a high-chassis military-grade jeep was using it.
Her eyes sparkled at the sight of the vehicle. Didn’t she want sothing like that?
It was the kind of car that could climb high-angle roads and not destroy itself when going through an obstacle course!
In the apocalypse, deadly obstacle courses would be everywhere!
She ran parallel to the road, climbing trees and jumping from branch to branch. She could also make so estimates in the direction it was heading toward, so she would not be left behind.
The terrain was rough, so the cars could not go too quickly. When she used her blink skill, there were tis she’d even be ahead of the car. After a while, she realized they were heading to her target location—the sperm donor’s land!
The road ended in a clearing with a hill. There was a large rock in the middle, and she watched as the car stopped in front of it. Naia wasn’t sure what was happening until she heard a new rumbling sound coming from where the car was.
Surprisingly, hidden inside the big rock was actually a chanical rolling door!
She watched as the door rolled up like that of a garage, except 10 tis bigger and 100 tis more advanced. She could see that there were more cars inside, and there were also a few ard n waiting for the car to enter.
Sadly, it closed before she could see what was inside.
She activated her ability again, wondering if she could teleport in. Sadly, as before, she could not go through solid walls.
This was one of the differences between her ability and Kael’s. Kael could travel through walls and could travel a massive distance. He showed off his improvents very often, and his ability’s growth had always been impressive.
In retrospect, regarding her two abilities, Naia rembered that she hadn’t really mastered either of them yet.
Then she rembered that through her space, she could get clues from areas she would normally have access to.
The caveat was that, since her space was only a hundred square ters or so, she had to be close enough to the target—within several ters.
Hoping that there were no caras to capture her, she went around the forest and behind the hill. She reckoned that caras would only be pointing at the front-facing the door, but it wouldn’t hurt to be careful.
For now, she could see depths up to five ters and 2D distances of ten. She activated it at a random direction behind the door, only to realize that there was more than just the room above ground there, and there was also a larger basent area.
Five ters down was just enough to see beyond one floor, so although she couldn’t ’see’ what was in the basent, she had an idea how big it was.
Anyway, just by the number on the ground floor, she could not carelessly head in.
As long as they were within her scope, she could see the number of people. In her mind’s eye, they were like little floating balls of energy, like the will-o-wisps, except much bigger and fuller.
Naia continued to watch their movents under her feet, staring at the energy balls while she drank her favorite chocomilk tetrapack drink.
Sip
With the enhanced senses within her space, she had a rough idea about the room dinsions. In her limited scope, she could see that there were (at least) seven n on the ground floor.
She could not sense anything beyond that, however. She didn’t have x-ray vision to know what equipnt they were currently holding or if their guards were let down enough their side could finally move.
Her space was 5 ters high, so she could see up to five ters below. For now, the wisps were less than 4 ters underground. She walked around, making a ntal map, especially when the n moved. She also went down the slope to see if there was more to see deeper in.
This might be the reason why the sperm donor was so desperate to get this lot. Weren’t they afraid they’d get discovered if the police decided to investigate this lot? They must be confident with their stealth skills.
Then again, had she not followed the car, she might’ve had a hard ti finding this place, so maybe their confidence had basis.
She wanted to go in to see though, mostly out of curiosity.
The question was: Was it worth it?
She’d have to wait until the door opened, and then she’d sneak in. What if she were seen? What if they attacked her? While she was pretty strong, she didn’t know what kind of people were in there. What if they were all seasoned rcenaries?
She was not in full power and limited by Nadia’s physique, she could very much get herself killed.
Sigh, she wished she bought so sleeping bombs or sothing. This way she’d just throw it in randomly if she managed to get inside, but that wasn’t exactly accessible for her (yet).
So what to do? It really felt too careless to head inside alone. She pondered whether to call the police, but she wasn’t sure if what was happening was really illegal. Besides, what if there were good things in there?
She was in dire need of money right now...
While she was Naia was ruminating whether to succumb to (potential) treasure or her safety, the door rolled open and revealed the parking area again.
The next thing she knew, she found herself inside.
"..."
It was a reflex! A reflex!
