Now reading: Chapter 863: God of the Seas from Pokémon: Chronicles of Freedom (Re-Upload), a Fantasy novel by GoldenDragonKing.

After installing all the devices, Cain activated them across the entire island.

Imdiately, the whole island beca completely camouflaged.

From the inside, Cain and the others noticed no difference; everything looked the sa. However, from the outside, the island had vanished completely into the ocean.

Under normal circumstances, this action wouldn’t have drawn any attention, since this island held no significance to anyone who might spot it, whether human or Pokémon.

But today wasn’t just any day.

The previous night, while Altaria attempted to achieve ga Evolution, a flash of light had attracted special attention.

Whoever had noticed it remained outside the island, not daring to enter. He rembered well his mother’s warnings and restrained himself from acting impulsively.

However, curiosity gnawed at him. He wanted to know what had caused that bright light he saw the previous night. That’s why he spent the whole night circling the nearby waters, unable to decide whether to leave.

But what he patiently waited for was not an answer to his questions, but an even more astonishing scene: the entire island vanished without warning.

He was left completely stunned.

He had spent his entire life in the ocean and had never seen anything like this. He had witnessed islands destroyed by storms or erosion, but never a disappearance so sudden, without any disturbance in the water.

Combining what he had seen the night before with this event, his curiosity reached an unsustainable level.

His mother’s warnings were completely forgotten.

Flapping his large wings underwater, he quickly rose to the surface without making many waves and hovered in the air.

His wings not only allowed him to move skillfully in the water, but also to fly freely through the sky, which was extrely useful.

He extended his wings and cautiously approached the area where the island had disappeared.

Then, sothing incredible happened: as he brought the tip of his wings near the spot, they vanished from his sight.

Frightened, he pulled them back quickly, but upon doing so, he confird he was unhard.

He breathed a sigh of relief.

He tried again and saw the tip of his wings disappear once more. This ti, he felt intrigued instead of scared.

It was... fun!

Determined to explore, he extended both wings and moved forward. Before long, not only his wings but also his head passed through that invisible barrier.

He blinked and, to his amazent, his head was now inside the island.

He looked around.

The island hadn’t disappeared.

It was rely hidden behind a barrier that made it invisible from the outside.

He turned his head to look at his own body. As long as he was inside the barrier, he could see himself clearly, but pulling his head out made the island vanish again, replaced by the vast expanse of ocean.

Instead of calming his curiosity, this scene only fueled it further.

Determined to find out more, he flapped his wings powerfully and passed completely through the barrier.

In the blink of an eye, he was inside the island.

Upon confirming that his body was still unhard, he let out a sigh of relief and began to explore.

He observed that the field hiding the island seed to emanate from a strange object installed on the ground.

An island that had once seed irrelevant to him now felt like a new world full of mysteries.

anwhile, Cain, who had just activated the camouflage field and the devices, was getting ready to rest when he received an alert.

Sothing—or soone—had passed through the barrier and entered the island.

At first, Cain didn’t think much of it. There were no ships nearby, so it could only be a sea Pokémon.

With so many Pokémon in the ocean, it wasn’t unusual for one to enter by accident.

But soon the alerts repeated.

Again and again.

This was too much.

It was one thing for a Pokémon to enter, but why cross the barrier so many tis?

Annoyed, Cain, accompanied by Slowking and a sleepy Ralts in his arms, decided to head to the shore where the alerts were coming from.

Using Slowking’s Teleport move, they quickly arrived at the location.

When Cain opened his eyes again, he was completely paralyzed.

He saw the Pokémon playing at the edge of the barrier.

It was a Pokémon he couldn’t believe he was seeing.

Its body was mostly white, with a light blue shade on its abdon. It had blue protrusions on its back and around its eyes. Its wings, which looked like a mix between arms and wings, spread out to let it fly gracefully. A sturdy tail and strong legs completed its imposing figure.

From a distance, it could be mistaken for a bird, but on closer inspection, its body had unique characteristics.

There was no doubt: the Pokémon in front of him was Lugia, the legendary God of the Seas.

Lugia was known for its imnse power, able to cause forty-day storms with a single flap of its wings. For this reason, it chose to hide in the depths of the ocean.

Though astonished, Cain soon noticed that this Lugia was different from the one described in legends.

The Lugia from the stories was a huge Pokémon, over five ters tall.

However, this one was much smaller, barely exceeding two ters.

The conclusion was clear: this was a young Lugia.

Cain rembered stories about a small Lugia that would later be captured by Team Rocket.

This confird his suspicion: the Pokémon in front of him was that young Lugia.

A bold thought crossed Cain’s mind:

Capture it.

Ta it.

The true God of the Seas was unattainable, but this young Lugia was different.

It seed to notice Cain’s intentions, for it stopped in the air and looked directly at him, with a reflective expression.

Cain felt all his thoughts vanish under the Pokémon’s gaze.

It was like facing death itself.
