"Bini?"
High in the air, Victini also noticed the commotion below.
"What's going on?"
Through her talent for making friends, Victini had already pieced together Volcanion's movent patterns and roughly determined where he was most likely staying.
But she had only just arrived when she saw this scene.
"Wow… so many Pokémon."
Victini had rarely witnessed such a massive gathering.
The last ti had been when she and Sora passed through the settlent of the People of the Land, where hundreds of Bouffalant charged wildly across the wasteland.
Soon, however, Victini spotted two familiar figures leading the crowd of Pokémon—
Her own Ogerpon and Buneary.
"Huh?"
Victini froze for a mont, then imdiately flew toward them.
"What happened here?"
"Ponii?"
Seeing Victini, Ogerpon bead.
"I think I found the target."
Afterward, Ogerpon briefly explained what had happened along the way.
Through strength—and a fair amount of beating—she had extracted a great deal of information about Volcanion from the local lords and bosses, finally confirming his current location.
"On that mountain over there, there's a lake. Volcanion usually rests there."
"That's great!"
Victini didn't feel discouraged by Ogerpon's good luck. Instead, she grew excited.
"I'll go find Sora and bring him here right away!"
"Mm-hmm."
Having finally made herself useful, Ogerpon was already anticipating the praise she would receive.
Ponpon, you did great.
That's my Ponpon—so capable.
You're actually amazing, you know. You can be more confident.
"Ponii~~"
Covering her face, Ogerpon squird shyly, completely lost in her happy daydream.
"Mi…"
Buneary could only sigh in exasperation.
She tugged on Ogerpon's cloak, silently reminding her of the situation.
There were so many Pokémon watching.
Could she at least maintain so dignity as the boss?
Didn't she see that everyone was starting to question reality?
"Your Highness."
Inside the royal capital of the Azoth Kingdom, Princess Kimia had changed into clothing suitable for going out. Amid greetings from servants, she hurried into her private workshop.
Inside were all kinds of advanced devices personally designed and built by the princess herself—true black-tech inventions.
She swung a leg over a motorcycle-like machine.
With the push of an air cushion, her entire body launched off the top of a tower more than a hundred ters tall.
Click—clack!
The vehicle transford midair, instantly reshaping into a compact personal flight suit that wrapped around her body and carried the princess toward the distant plateau.
The technological gap within the Pokémon world could feel almost surreal.
In so regions, people still lived in near-primitive conditions.
In others, the wealthy possessed massive aerial warships, fossil resurrection technology, cloning technology—even ti machines.
Among all regions, Kalos was undoubtedly one of the most technologically advanced.
Compared to Sinnoh or Kanto, many of Kalos's civilian devices were far more sophisticated.
And the Azoth Kingdom—
As the birthplace of mysterious science, many of its technologies bordered on science fiction.
It was precisely this technological foundation that allowed Azoth, despite being a kingdom, to join the Kalos League as an equal.
"What exactly happened?"
Flying through the sky, Kimia felt deeply uneasy.
Since her father's death, only she and her younger brother, Raleigh, remained in the royal family.
The siblings relied on each other and shared a close bond.
They had never fought over the succession to the throne.
In fact, compared to becoming queen, Kimia would rather travel the world as a Trainer.
As for Raleigh, he had no interest in ruling either.
He aspired to beco a mysterious scientist like Alva, using inventions to revitalize the Azoth Kingdom.
Everything should have been moving in a positive direction.
However, in recent years, Minister Jarvis had grown increasingly restless.
He had arrived in the kingdom while Kimia's father was still alive.
In terms of knowledge and ability, Jarvis was undeniably talented.
Many of his inventions had brought great convenience to Azoth.
Even Raleigh had been captivated by him and beca his student.
"Could this be another incident caused by Jarvis?"
Every ti Kimia thought of the minister, a headache followed.
The man was ambitious—far too ambitious.
She didn't trust him in the slightest.
Yet her brother had been influenced by him and placed imnse faith in the minister. Sotis, even as his sister, she found it difficult to understand.
So when unusual activity erupted on the Nebel Plateau, Kimia's first suspicion naturally fell on Jarvis.
After all, many of the strange incidents in recent years had been tied to his research.
"Bini-bini~~"
In a distant forest, Sora was searching for Volcanion with his newly captured Amaura, along with Lilligant and Sylveon.
Suddenly, he looked up—
and saw Victini streaking toward him like a red teor.
"Whoa!"
The little one plunged straight down and crashed into his arms.
Fortunately, Victini slowed down beforehand. Otherwise, the impact alone might have sent him rolling across the ground.
That was thanks to his strengthened body.
If this had happened back when he lived on Earth, that hit alone might have knocked him out on the spot.
It really showed just how tough humans in the Pokémon world were—
Creatures capable of living under the sa sky as Pokémon.
"You little troublemaker," Sora said, half annoyed, lifting Victini up and giving her a light smack on the backside.
"Trying to knock out?"
"Bini~~"
Victini giggled.
She had simply been in a hurry to share the news.
"Bini-bini, bini-ni~"
After an animated round of gestures and explanations, Sora finally understood the situation on Ogerpon's side.
"You're saying Ogerpon defeated a bunch of boss-level Pokémon and learned Volcanion's location from them?"
"Bini!"
"Looks like that kid's luck is pretty good," Sora said with a smile.
He called out to the others:
"Let's go. Ti to et up with them."
"Roar~~"
He recalled the Pokémon scattered nearby, then mounted Ursaluna in one smooth motion.
The massive beast charged across the plateau like a living tank, racing toward the direction Victini indicated.
anwhile, back in the royal capital of Azoth, Minister Jarvis received a report from the spies assigned to monitor Princess Kimia—
The princess had left the city.
