While Meiko was asleep, she had a dream in which she was a legendary warrior who specialised in wielding a divine whip that could transform into nine different dragon heads.
Although the dream began with her being looked down upon by her sisters and the people she had once considered friends, it soon took a different turn in her life. She became cheerful, fiercely petitive, and endlessly passionate about battle.
She challenged every warrior she deemed worthy, and perhaps to prove her worth to everyone, she defeated them with overwhelming ease.
During the dream, she met a blacksmith who became the first person to ever defeat her. From that day onward, she became infatuated with him to the point where she chased away anyone who dared approach him, especially women.
Then, just before she awoke from the dream, she saw herself fighting in one of history’s greatest wars, dying with a smile on her face.
Waking up would have been one of the saddest moments of her life, had it not been for Kent smiling back at her the moment she opened her eyes.
The first thought that crossed her mind was to attack Kent.
However, that impulse wasn’t nearly as intense as it usually was whenever her master’s life was threatened.
That realisation made her hand instinctively move to her neck, but she felt nothing...
For a brief moment, she froze.
’This feeling...’
She could feel it.
The pulsion she always experienced whenever she learned that someone intended to harm her master was gone. In fact, she now felt incredibly free.
Her mind had been cleared of all the anger-filled thoughts that had constantly plagued it, and as she looked at Kent now, she felt absolutely no pulsion to kill him.
"Told ya," Kent said with a grin as he walked toward the window, gazing outside at the dozens of people Kenna had freed after he killed Lord Deckins.
"I’ve already killed Lord Deckins and freed you from your shackles, so you’re a free woman now."
Meiko was stunned.
Naturally, she had never imagined that she would one day be freed from the shackles that had bound her neck for thousands of years. In her mind, she was destined to remain her master’s slave forever.
But things were different now, leaving her in utter disbelief.
"It is over now, Meiko. You are free. So the next thing you need to do is reclaim your life and continue walking the path you once tread."
Kent waved his hand, and a small jade token appeared in his palm.
"Contained within this token are the memories of a life you once lived. Along with them, your legacy as the Nine Dragon Whip Goddess has also been preserved. Absorb it, bee who you have always been, and fulfil the destiny that has always belonged to you."
Kent released the token, and it floated toward Meiko. Still in a state of shock, she instinctively reached out and caught it.
Kent then manded the ship to exit the space channel and hover somewhere within the endless expanse of space. Receiving a quest for everyone he had interacted with in his past lives almost seemed like the universe’s own doing.
First was Sahir, who returned to his peak in merely a few hours.
Now, it was Meiko’s turn, and Kent couldn’t wait to see her return to the pinnacle of her strength once more.
Just like him, she also had unfinished business with the Soul Temple.
"When you’re ready, just press the jade token against your forehead, and everything will proceed from there."
Kent spoke, and Meiko turned to look at him, yet she remained silent. Deep down, she had countless questions, but for reasons she couldn’t explain, everything about what was about to happen simply felt right.
Kent couldn’t help but wonder whether the other people he had interacted with in his previous lives would also have tragic fates like Sahir and Meiko.
The thought alone made him question whether the universe was acting intentionally or if it was simply the fate they had always been destined to endure.
Sahir had been an ordinary person before meeting Kevin Sage. Meiko had also been mediocre at best until she experienced her breakthrough, and Fjorge forged the Nine Dragon Whip for her.
’’Maybe it’s simply a repetition of their past lives. The only difference this time is that I’ll be the one to awaken them from their slumber.’’
With that thought, he quietly waited for Meiko.
A few minutes later, Meiko raised the jade token to her forehead and pressed it against her skin.
Almost instantly, a tremendous wave of energy erupted from her body.
Moments later, she was encased within a cocoon woven from countless elemental energies.
Meiko herself possessed no elemental affinity. Instead, what she had was an extraordinarily vast and powerful soul capable of manifesting into physical constructs. The more she harnessed the power of her soul, the greater her control over the laws of the universe became.
Her very presence alone influenced the laws.
Thus, when Fjorge forged the Nine Dragon Whip for her and she inherited the countless elemental powers it contained, she became an unstoppable force.
Now, the cocoon surrounding her contained flames, ice, water, lightning, wind, earth, and every other elemental law.
Kent remained seated, keeping a close watch on what would happen next.
Ten hours later, the entire ship began to tremble violently.
Kent immediately manded Tower to send everyone aboard into the Tower Garden.
The very next second—
BOOOM
The ship exploded.
Kent was blasted several miles away, cursing as his body shot through the vacuum of space. He had pletely forgotten what had happened with Sahir.
Fortunately, there were no asteroids nearby this time. After hurtling through space for several thousand kilometres, he summoned the Jade Void Wings and finally managed to stabilise himself.
WHOOSH
The Nine Dragon Whip flew out from the Tower’s storage before vanishing into the distance.
Having learned his lesson, Kent made no attempt to approach the destruction in the distance.
However...
The carnage came to him instead.
The moment the Nine Dragon Whip disappeared, a violent gust of wind erupted before him, followed by an ocean of flames, ice, water, lightning, and countless other elemental forces.
Standing at the centre of that elemental maelstrom was a Meiko with a broad, athletic frame, a bountiful chest, and a fierce, battle-hardened aura.
She stood 6’2" tall, with jade-like crimson eyes and crimson hair braided behind her head, giving her the unmistakable appearance of a seasoned warrior. In her hand is the Nine Dragon Whip, now humming with energy.
It had finally reunited with its true master after billions of years.
The reason Fjorge had fallen in love with this crazy woman was that the two of them shared the same temperament.
Fjorge bees extremely chaotic whenever he is angry.
Meiko, on the other hand...
She was chaotic every single day.
Not a single day passed without her picking a fight.
In fact, she alone had singlehandedly killed more Soul Temple agents than anyone else in history.
While others fled from danger, Meiko charged straight toward it...
Or better yet, went looking for it.
So the moment she appeared before Kent, the dragon knew his life was about to bee exceedingly painful.
"Don’t die."
She said, then she attacked.
Kent didn’t even have time to summon a weapon. He instinctively met the descending whip with his bare fist, channelling as much strength as he could summon in that moment. It was instantaneous, and she came fully prepared for him.
BOOM!!
His body was blasted away, shooting through space like a falling star.
Yet before he could even process how fast he was travelling, a massive crimson dragon head materialised directly in front of him.
"Oh, e—"
He hadn’t even finished summoning the Chaos Scale Shield before the enormous dragon head slammed into him.
BOOOM
Kent was blasted away once again, blood spraying from his mouth as he tumbled uncontrollably through space.
’This bitch...
