Christopher Turner had many questions he wanted to ask Thomas Fisher, but he didn’t want to be too direct. If it turned out he was mistaken, asking would make things awkward. It was really uncomfortable to hold back and not ask.
"Uncle! Aunt! I have sothing to attend to today, I’ll visit you both another day." Thomas Fisher didn’t really want to leave so soon, but Alice Turner, sitting beside him, kept giving him signals to leave quickly. Not wanting to upset her, he reluctantly stood up to say goodbye.
Seeing this, Christopher Turner quickly stood up as well, "Is the matter urgent? I had hoped you’d stay and have dinner with us."
He genuinely tried to keep the departing guest, but the outco seed less than satisfactory.
"It’s a bit urgent, I’ll definitely stay for dinner another day." Thomas Fisher really wanted to stay for dinner, but thinking about the consequences of doing so, he decisively refused. Next ti he visits for real, he’ll definitely hang around until evening.
Hearing Thomas Fisher’s response, Alice Turner relaxed. Earlier, when her dad invited Thomas to dinner, she almost spoke up to refuse on his behalf.
Christopher Turner sighed regretfully, "We’ll have to wait for next ti then."
He thought the guest was being polite about "next ti," unaware that Thomas was seriously promising sothing significant.
"Uncle! Aunt! I’m leaving now." Thomas Fisher’s eyes shifted, landing on the two lovely ladies standing by the sofa, Alice and Lily Turner. "Bye-bye, beautiful ladies!"
He waved to the sisters and stepped towards the living room door.
"Alice, see Thomas out."
Christopher Turner instinctively wanted to escort the guest but paused, turning to ask Alice to see Thomas out.
Hearing this, Thomas Fisher couldn’t help but smile, slowing his steps deliberately, waiting for a certain soone to see him out.
"Got it."
Alice Turner responded, circling the coffee table to see Thomas Fisher out.
Once away from the living room, Thomas Fisher glanced back to make sure the occupants couldn’t see him and Alice. He reached out and took her hand, "I’ll pick you up for work tomorrow."
His voice was soft but carried significant weight.
"No need, I’ll take a taxi to work myself." Alice Turner didn’t hesitate to shake her head and firmly refuse.
Seeing her reject him so decisively, Thomas Fisher’s face showed imdiate displeasure, "You’re my girlfriend now; picking you up for work is my responsibility and duty."
He squeezed her hand firmly to protest against her rejection.
"Not now. Whether it’s okay in the future will be announced later." Alice Turner pretended not to notice Thomas Fisher’s displeasure, rejecting him even more firmly than before.

Thomas Fisher couldn’t understand Alice Turner’s attitude; he couldn’t accept it in his heart. Could he never walk under the sun with her?
When she hadn’t been divorced, he endured it. But now that she’s divorced, he couldn’t endure it anymore. He no longer wanted to love her secretly; he wanted to love her openly.
"I can’t comply with that; I’ll co to pick you up tomorrow." Thomas Fisher’s stance was much more determined and assertive than Alice Turner’s. After saying this, he glanced at her, let go of her hand, and strode out the door.
What a stubborn man! Can’t we just talk this out?
Facing the door that had just closed, Alice Turner sighed helplessly and turned back to the living room.
