"What’s going on between you and Thomas?"
Alice Turner had just walked into the living room when Christopher Turner looked over at her, his face expressionless, and Alice couldn’t tell his mood.
Taking a deep breath to quickly calm her nerves, Alice steadied herself and walked inside, saying calmly, "What do you an what’s going on? He just gave a ride ho."
She walked over and sat down where she had just been sitting.
"I just heard Thomas say that you’ve known each other for a long ti, even before you t Benjamin?" Christopher didn’t believe it was as simple as Alice made it out to be. Earlier, he couldn’t directly ask Thomas about it, but with Alice, he didn’t need to hold back.
Upon hearing Christopher’s words, Sophia Wood and Lily Turner looked over at Alice, surprised by the revelation they were hearing for the first ti. They always thought Alice t Thomas after marrying Benjamin, but it seems that’s not the case.
What on earth did Thomas say to her father just now?
In her mind, Alice rolled her eyes at Thomas who had just left, steadied herself, and looked at Christopher, "He’s right, we did know each other early on."
It’s just that the circumstances of their eting were hard to explain. They knew each other early, but afterwards, they lost contact and never reached out to each other again.
Were it not for Benjamin, they might have never t again in this lifeti, let alone fall in love.
"Then why haven’t you ntioned it before?" Ever since hearing Thomas say they had known each other for a long ti, Christopher had been puzzled by this. He got a vague answer from Thomas earlier, and now he wanted a clear answer from Alice herself.
Alice didn’t know Christopher had asked Thomas the sa question, nor that Thomas had already replied. She was taken aback for a mont before casually responding, "What’s the big deal? He’s not so incredible big shot."
Their eting was difficult to broach anyway, not to ntion she’s grown up now—why would she need to report knowing soone to her parents? She’s not a kindergartner.
"And why isn’t he an incredible big shot? He’s the renowned Mr. Ning of Fla City." Christopher said this with a face full of pride and boastfulness, as if Thomas shared a special connection with him.
Seeing him like this, the other three were taken aback, not with surprise, but with resignation and displeasure.
Sophia Wood didn’t notice Christopher’s snobbery when they first t, but gradually realized it over the years, especially in recent years as it beca increasingly obvious, and she felt it had reached the point of no redy.
Alice Turner and Lily Turner had long been unhappy with Christopher’s behavior, but as younger mbers of the family, all they could feel was dissatisfaction.
"What’s the big deal with the renowned Mr. Ning? He’s just like us, with two eyes, a nose, and a mouth. Does he have three heads and six arms?" Alice hadn’t intended to speak about Thomas this way, but she couldn’t stand seeing Christopher venerate power and status any longer.
