The responsibility of talking to Athena was handed over to Serena. After dinner, she took Athena to her room.
"Mom! What do you want to tell ? Why such a serious expression?" Athena looked at her mom with a puzzled face, quickly thinking about what her mom wanted to talk about. She hadn’t done anything wrong today, had she?
She had just spent extra ti with Lily, but that shouldn’t be enough to make her mom this serious, right?
Serena did not imdiately say what it was, but instead took Athena and sat down by the bedside. She stared at her daughter for quite a while before slowly speaking: "Athena! Do you want to go to Fla City with your brother and sister-in-law?"
She didn’t dare directly ntion the transfer, and instead asked in such a roundabout way.
"Of course I want to go, Mom! You an for to go with my goddess sister to Fla City tomorrow?" Athena didn’t think too much about it. Hearing her mom say this, she thought her mom wanted her to go to Fla City with Lily to play. At this mont, she hadn’t thought at all about the issue of transferring schools.
Serena was not surprised by her daughter’s reaction; she had seen how attached Athena was to Lily firsthand. It was precisely because she knew this that she approached it from this angle.
"Yes! I’m not asking you to go with your brother and sister-in-law to play, but for you to go to school in Fla City..."
"You want to go to school in Fla City? Really? Are you sure you’re not joking?"
Upon hearing that her mom wanted her to go to school in Fla City, Athena interrupted her mom excitedly before she could finish, looking particularly thrilled.
This...
Serena wasn’t surprised by Athena’s reaction, but seeing her daughter so excited and lively, she felt a bit bittersweet inside.
"Do I look like I’m joking with you?" Seeing her daughter so happy to leave ho for Fla City, she couldn’t help but sigh.
"Not at all!" Athena shook her head, but she didn’t let the good news cloud her judgnt. She turned to face her mom, "Mom! Why do you want to transfer to Fla City? Has sothing happened? Does dad agree too?"
She’s currently in her senior year, with one sester left before the college entrance exam. Her mom wanting her to transfer now seed unwise, definitely unwise.
"Your brother said there’s a good boarding school in Fla City. Your dad and I discussed it and decided to transfer you to the school your brother ntioned," Serena avoided ntioning Autumn Gower’s visit. In her view, there was no need for Athena to know about it, besides, those matters had little to do with her daughter.
Upon hearing that, Athena exclaid, "A boarding school?! Why do I have to go to a boarding school? Can’t I go to another type of school?"
A boarding school! Why should she have to go to a boarding school?
"Your brother said that boarding school is quite good, and your dad and I also want you to experience group living in advance, so you won’t be clueless when you go to college later on." If it weren’t for Grant Heath causing such a stir, Serena wouldn’t have wanted to send Athena so far away. Athena had never been away from her before; she would feel both heartache and worry.
Athena was skeptical: "Is it really just for to get used to group living ahead of ti?"
