Faced with Lily Turner’s persistent questioning, Sophia Wood fell into silence for a mont. It wasn’t until she heard Christopher Turner coming in from outside that she slowly erged from her silence and turned to look at Christopher as he entered.
"Has he left?"
At this mont, her expression appeared much calr than before, lacking the previous irritability and agitation; she had completely changed her deanor.
Seeing Sophia Wood’s attitude shift in just a few minutes, Lily Turner felt a deep sense of desolation inside. This was her mom, her mom who treated everyone better than her own daughter.
Is this her real mom? Is this truly her biological mother???
Lily Turner drew three big question marks in her heart. Other people’s moms were not like this to their own children; she had seen how other moms treated their kids.
Every ti she saw other moms happily interacting with their children on the street, she felt so envious, so envious.
While being envious, she also felt very pitiful, very sad for herself.
How could her mom treat her like this? Who could unravel this mystery that had troubled her for so many years?
"Mmm!"
Christopher Turner only responded with a hum, looking at Lily Turner who stood in a daze. He walked over and sat on the sofa.
Sophia Wood could tell her husband was very displeased, and she was well aware of the reason for his displeasure.
"Stop standing there; seeing you annoys ." Sophia Wood shot an annoyed glare at Lily Turner and walked towards Christopher Turner, who was sitting on the sofa.
Hearing the scolding from her mom, Lily Turner suddenly snapped out of her daze, glanced at Christopher Turner and Sophia Wood on the sofa, and turned to walk out of the living room.
The mont she turned around, tears glistened in her eyes.
Her pace quickened involuntarily, and the closer she got to the door, the faster her steps beca.
"Second Miss!"
Lily Turner seed not to notice Sister Hua greeting her. She kept pace briskly, quickly reaching the door, opened it, and walked out of the stifling house.
As she closed the door, her steps paused, and she turned to look at the door she just closed. Disheartened, she walked towards the yard exit.
Waiting not far from the yard gate, Easton Hols saw Lily Turner coming out. He opened the car door and got out to welco her.
"You knew I was coming..."
As Lily Turner approached, she didn’t say anything and just threw herself into Easton Hols’s arms.
Her sudden embrace left him montarily stunned, but he soon sensed sothing was wrong. Her mood was very low, very low. He looked down at her nestled in his arms, "What’s wrong?"
Earlier, when Easton Hols drove over, Charles Thompson and Amber Wood had already left by car. Though they passed each other, they didn’t recognize one another, nor did they pay attention.
Although he didn’t know exactly what had happened, he could sense that her mood was very low, a sense of desolation emanating from her.
"Don’t ask anything, just let hold you for a mont, just a mont." Lily Turner snuggled deeper into Easton Hols’s embrace, wrapping her arms around his trim waist. She didn’t want him to see her tears, so she turned her face towards his chest.
Easton Hols, having keen ears, caught the faint sob in Lily Turner’s voice, and his eyebrows knitted tightly. He looked towards the house she had just exited, a thoughtful expression on his face.
