The intimate interaction between Easton Hols and Lily Turner was clearly noticed by Callix Linton, who instantly activated his stealth mode until he heard Lily Turner’s plea for help, at which point he automatically deactivated it.
"Just bully him back."
As Callix Linton spoke, he had already stood up from the sofa. While lifting his foot to walk out, he didn’t forget to playfully cheer Lily Turner on, "I’m rooting for you!"
With that, he headed toward the living room exit. He couldn’t continue being this third wheel anymore; his presence was not needed.
"Mr. Linton! You’re being unfair. We’re not friends anymore." Watching his strong back walking away, Lily Turner called out with so dissatisfaction.
Because she was unhappy, she didn’t control her volu.
Upon hearing this, Callix Linton stopped in his tracks, turned around, and looked at Lily Turner, who was ’threatening’ him. Even though he knew she was only saying it on purpose, he still began to plead for himself, "Please don’t! Right now, you’re my only friend to hang out with."
Most of his friends had already passed away. The few war comrades still living were not in the sa city, and so of them had mobility issues or other health problems, big and small.
"Speak up, how can I help you?"
As Callix Linton asked, he took steps back towards her.
This scene shocked Lily Turner. She had just casually said it, and she had never expected Callix Linton to take it seriously, to the point of even coming back to help her.
This scene also shocked Easton Hols. He glanced at Callix Linton, who was walking closer and closer, then turned to look at Lily Turner sitting next to him, his face full of incredulity.
When did these two beco such good friends? And by the looks of it, they seed ready to gang up on him.
"This guy is getting too arrogant, please help teach him a lesson." Lily Turner was the first to snap out of her shock. Once she was back to her senses, she pointed at Easton Hols, asking Callix Linton to give him a good talking to.
Worried about being retaliated against, she got ready to move to the side. But before she could make a move, soone grabbed her in place.
This guy?!
This girl, is she getting a bit too cocky?
Before Callix Linton ca over, Easton Hols pulled Lily Turner up and led her around the coffee table towards the living room exit, "Grandpa! If you want great-grandchildren in the future, stop ssing with my wife, or I will take her back to live with us."
He glanced at his own grandpa and, with determination, led her out of the living room.
This strategy worked well on Callix Linton—sure enough, he didn’t respond further and just stood there watching the couple leave.
"It’s still early, how about we go for a walk?" Lily Turner, fully aware of her previous actions having upset Easton Hols, also knew what he intended to do when he pulled her back to the room. So she negotiated, tugging on his arm.
All of Lily Turner’s little thoughts were written on her face, and Easton Hols could see them clearly. He stopped and silently turned to stare at her, saying nothing for a long ti.
"Well, aren’t you going to say sothing? Yes? Or no?" Being wordlessly stared at by Easton Hols made Lily Turner’s skin crawl. She couldn’t bear the silence any longer and reached out to nudge him.
"Of course... yes!"
Easton Hols shouted back and, at the sa ti, changed direction, pulling Lily Turner once more towards the door.
In that instant of turning around, Lily Turner’s mouth involuntarily turned up into a smile. Little did she know, this small action didn’t escape Easton Hols’s eyes.
