"Easton!"
At the gate, Lily Turner and Easton Hols ran into Evelyn Taylor. From afar, Evelyn saw the couple holding hands, and her eyes instantly erupted with rage.
However, as she approached them, she quickly concealed the anger in her eyes, but she couldn’t help gazing at their interlocked hands.
Easton had actually noticed Evelyn early on, but he didn’t shy away from anything, walking openly hand in hand with Lily.
"What’s this?"
Easton glanced at the items Evelyn was carrying. With just one look, he keenly noticed they were nutritional supplents and clearly understood her intentions. His question was largely rhetorical.
Evelyn took a big step forward, standing directly beside Easton, "I’ve co to see grandpa."
As she spoke, she lifted the things in her hand to show him she was there to see Mr. Linton and not to cause trouble for soone.
"Grandpa is watching TV, go ahead."
Easton looked at Evelyn, who had moved closer to him, and was about to lead Lily around her to leave. But as he took a step, his right arm was caught by Evelyn. He turned to her, "What’s up?"
As he asked, he discreetly pulled his arm back.
"These are too heavy. Help carry them inside."
Evelyn was not willing to back down, and she reached out again to grab Easton’s arm. This ti she intentionally increased her grip, "Easton! Please, just help out."
She knew full well that her strength wasn’t enough to hold him back, so before he could shake her off, she played her trump card, pleading coquettishly.
"Honey! Help Evelyn carry them inside."
Co to see grandpa? Does she think I’m foolish? Or blind?
Lily Turner didn’t believe for a second that Evelyn was there to see Callix Linton; she knew very well whom she was really there to see.
Easton looked at Lily, who had responded on his behalf, and squeezed her hand tightly, "As you command, my lady!"
With that, he let go of her hand, withdrew his other hand, and took the things from Evelyn.
"Let’s go!"
Easton carried the nutritional supplents with one hand and tugged on Evelyn’s sleeve with the other, striding toward the house entrance.
This wasn’t the scenario Evelyn wanted. She wanted Easton to carry things for her with genuine delight and walk inside with her happily, not to have Lily make decisions for him.
Evelyn turned back and glared angrily at Lily. Despite the limited lighting, this gesture wasn’t lost on Lily.
Just as the words left her lips, she saw Lily waving at her, and she could feel that Lily was smiling at her now.
Already suppressing her anger toward Lily, Evelyn’s fury grew with the current situation. She felt a burning desire to turn back and confront Lily fiercely.
But at this mont, she couldn’t do so. If she did, the man beside her would definitely turn against her.
She had to swallow her pride; otherwise, not only would she fail to win back the man she loved, but she’d also end up tricked by that woman.
"Easton! Why are you staying at grandpa’s place?"
Evelyn diverted her gaze from Lily and looked at Easton, who was pulling her into the house.
Hearing her question, Easton imdiately replied, "My wife wanted to co here to spend ti with grandpa, so I had to accompany her."
