Callix Linton actually didn’t know who the call was for. He stopped Lily Turner from answering because he didn’t want her to pick up calls from Fabian Hols or Alia Linton.
Those two have now been blacklisted by him; he no longer wants to waste ti and energy on them.
"Then I’ll go wash my face in the bathroom."
After saying a sentence to Callix Linton, Lily Turner strode towards the bathroom.
This fitted perfectly with what Old Mr. Linton wanted. He was just thinking about how to make her leave; unexpectedly, she left voluntarily. He didn’t have ti to think too much and imdiately walked in the opposite direction.
When Callix Linton walked over, the phone had rung for the second ti. He quickly picked up the receiver and put it to his ear, "Who is this?"
After asking, he waited quietly for a response from the other side of the phone.
"Dad! What do you an by this? Why did you have soone stop outside?" The caller was Alia Linton. Upon hearing Callix Linton’s voice, she angrily demanded.
"You’re calling the wrong person; there is no dad here for you to find." Callix Linton replied and then hung up the phone with a snap. He didn’t care whether the other person was angry or hurt. At the sa ti as hanging up the phone, he also unplugged the phone line.
Alia Linton, standing at the courtyard gate, didn’t know this. She dialed the ho landline again, but although it connected, nobody answered.
She didn’t give up and dialed again, but still, nobody answered. Unaware that her father had unplugged the line.
After two calls, nobody answered, so Alia Linton stomped her foot in anger. Just as she was about to call again, Easton Hols’ car drove out from inside the courtyard.
Without thinking, she rushed up to intercept the car driving out.
Screech!
Seeing soone suddenly appear beside him, Easton Hols was startled and instinctively stepped on the brakes.
Fortunately, everyone in the car was wearing seat belts; otherwise, the sudden brake would have caused chaos.
Upon seeing who intercepted the car, Easton Hols’ face suddenly turned grim. Rolling down the window, he was about to reprimand the car blocker when Michael Linton chid in first, "Sis! Are you out of your mind!"
Michael Linton looked unsatisfied at Alia Linton suddenly appearing in front of the car, filled with both discontent and confusion.
Thinking Easton was alone in the car, Alia Linton was taken aback upon hearing Michael’s voice. After recovering from her shock, she walked over to the driver’s side door.
"You all..."
Alia Linton bent down and looked through the fully open window; not only did she see Michael, but also Serena Zimrman and Athena Linton. She suddenly felt perplexed, "Where are you all going?"
While speaking, she looked carefully into the car again, seeing just her brother’s family of three. No one else there added to her confusion.
"Sis! We’re heading back today; Easton is giving us a ride to the airport." Before Easton Hols could speak, Serena Zimrman had already extended her head out of the car window and straightforwardly told Alia Linton outside the car.
Upon hearing this, Alia Linton’s confusion and questions were imdiately dispelled. She stood up and walked to the car’s rear door, "Why are you going back so soon? I haven’t had a good chat with you yet."
The confusion and perplexity on her face vanished, replaced by regret and remorse.
