Alice Turner kept revealing one truth after another today, leaving Sophia Wood utterly shocked. She was so stunned that she didn’t know what to say. It took her a long while to recover from the shock.
"You two aren’t living together? Where have you both been living for the past six months?" Upon learning that the two hadn’t been living together for half a year, Sophia Wood suddenly felt guilty. As a mother, she realized she was quite incompetent, being completely unaware of the situation between her daughter and son-in-law after so many years of marriage.
Her daughter hadn’t co ho lately, nor had she been living with her son-in-law. So where exactly had her daughter been living these past six months? Knowing her daughter had been wandering like this for over half a year made her feel really uncomfortable and distressed.
Alice Turner truthfully inford, "I’ve been living in an apartnt. As for where he’s been staying these days, I have no idea."
In any case, he hadn’t co ho. Whether or not he’d been staying with that woman, she didn’t know, and it wasn’t sothing she could be bothered with.
"Benjamin isn’t coming ho?" Knowing that Benjamin Shaw hadn’t been coming ho filled Sophia Wood with instant anger instead of worry. Her daughter was such a good woman, and yet he didn’t appreciate her after marrying her.

It must be, otherwise, how could he not co ho? He couldn’t possibly be wandering outside every day.

Alice Turner didn’t respond to Sophia Wood’s question but instead emphasized again about her divorce with Benjamin Shaw, "Mom! You must keep our divorce a secret for , or we won’t be able to go through with it."
The worst-case scenario was if the divorce couldn’t happen. She could foresee the difficulty her father would have accepting their divorce.
"Have you two really thought this through? Do you really want to get a divorce?" Even though she knew a lot already, Sophia Wood still hoped that Alice Turner and Benjamin Shaw wouldn’t get a divorce. They seed well-matched, and both families were satisfied with each other’s child. She thought them being together was the best choice.
Hearing this, Alice Turner let out a deep sigh, "Mom! Do you think the two of us could be happy together in this situation?"
Not to even ntion happiness, even eting each other was tough for them, so where would happiness possibly co from?
"But..."
"Mom! There’s no ’but.’ Our divorce is already a done deal, and it’s only a matter of ti now."
As soon as Sophia Wood opened her mouth, Alice Turner knew what she wanted to say, cutting her off decisively without waiting for her to finish.
Once those words were out, Sophia Wood swallowed back what she wanted to say, but she couldn’t keep silent, "Do Benjamin’s parents know about your divorce?"
She guessed they didn’t, otherwise there wouldn’t be such peace on their side.
"They don’t know. The divorce was sothing we decided between the two of us. You’re the first of the four parents to know, and the only one to know in advance." Alice Turner emphasized the last sentence, aning to tell Sophia Wood that she was the first to know; if any of the other three found out, it would an she had leaked the secret.
Upon hearing this, Sophia Wood sighed deeply, "This situation is really hard on us as parents."
She felt quite uncomfortable already, and she was sure the other three would share her feeling; their union was the result of their combined efforts, and this was an outco none of them wanted to see.
