Benjamin Shaw pulled out the buzzing phone from his pocket and glanced at it. He didn’t pick up, choosing instead to hang up.
After hanging up, he put the phone back in his pocket. Before he could take his hand out, the phone started ringing again.
When he heard the phone ring again, Benjamin furrowed his brow slightly. Alice Turner caught this little expression as she looked at him.
She glanced at him without saying a word and walked toward the living room, leaving the space for him to mull over the phone.
When Alice reached the living room door, she heard Benjamin answer the phone, "What’s up?"
His tone and attitude were not pleasant. Whether it was because of the person on the other end or because of her going into the living room, it wasn’t clear.
"What’s wrong? Did soone upset you?"
Calling was Sophie Snow, and even through the phone, she sensed Benjamin’s bad mood. Not knowing what had happened, she was filled with doubt.
Benjamin was quite irritable at the mont. Hearing Sophie’s question, he felt rather impatient, "What exactly do you want from ?"
His tone worsened compared to before, and his attitude followed suit.
"I just wanted to ask if you have ti tomorrow morning? I..."
"I have ti all day tomorrow."
Sophie hadn’t finished speaking when Benjamin quickly interrupted, without even asking what she wanted, he declared he had ti tomorrow without hesitation.
Upon hearing this, Sophie was thrilled, "Really?"
The surprise was so sudden she almost couldn’t believe it was real.
"It’s true."
Benjamin still didn’t ask why Sophie wanted to see him, just confidently assured her with words.
After Sophie received confirmation from Benjamin again, she believed what she had just heard was true. She didn’t continue to ask anything but expressed her happiness to him on the other end, "Benjamin! You’re great, you didn’t even ask why I..."
"I have things to do now, I’m hanging up."
Benjamin cut Sophie off and hung up the call. He utterly disregarded what she wanted to say or her reaction, hanging up without a care.
After hanging up, Benjamin glanced toward the living room, then turned and headed to the door. As he neared the entrance, Alice suddenly called after him, "Benjamin Shaw! Wait a minute."
Upon hearing Alice call him, Benjamin instinctively stopped his stride toward the door and turned to look at her coming out of the living room, puzzled, "Do you need sothing?"
He stood there puzzled, facing her, not intending to walk over.
"You have all day tomorrow, so give half an hour for us to go to the Civil Affairs Bureau to handle the paperwork." Benjamin’s previous loud words had been clearly heard by Alice in the living room. She wasn’t at all interested in who was on that call; she was concerned about his availability tomorrow.
He indeed had ti tomorrow, and a whole day at that. She must seize this opportunity to go to the Civil Affairs Bureau with him to finalize their divorce proceedings; she didn’t want to delay any longer.
