Now reading: Chapter 222 222: 222-The attendant from Reborn: The Rookie Detective, a Action novel by jackrose.

As the plane flew smoothly above the clouds, the seatbelt indicator lights went out, and flight attendants pushed carts, serving drinks and food to the passengers.

This seed to be a newly established airline, appearing small in scale and operating like a budget airline, yet the drinks and food were surprisingly plentiful.

The steak in business class, though microwaved, tasted alright, and Jack even ordered a glass of gin to calm his nerves. Anyway, they were already tens of thousands of ters above the ground, and the system hadn't given him any flying skills or anything to turn him into a superhero. He could only hope that nothing would happen, and that any trouble would only begin after landing.

Whether Tokyo or Los Angeles, it was better than sothing happening in the air.

But clearly, Jack's hopes were dashed. With a slight turbulence, the ding-dong warning sounded, and the captain's voice ca through the cabin again.

"Ladies and gentlen, this is the captain. The seatbelt indicator is on. Please remain seated and fasten your seatbelts. Thank you."

At the sa ti, the push-back sensation increased slightly. Jack keenly sensed the plane was gaining altitude, but the surrounding clouds were becoming increasingly dense.

Unbeknownst to him, in low latitudes, the troposphere doesn't extend to just over 10,000 ters, but exceeds 17,000 ters, or 56,000 feet.

When traversing low latitudes, no passenger plane can fly above the troposphere and into the relatively safe lower stratosphere. Encountering abnormal weather, they usually have no choice but to detour or try to fly overhead.

The raindrops outside the window grew larger, pelting the glass. Lightning flashed more intensely in the dark clouds that seed to cling to the plane's belly.

As the plane continued to shake, Jack's heart pounded in his chest, and JJ's face began to show her tension. Passengers in the economy class frequently gasped in surprise.

A loud bang rang out, a huge flash of lightning illuminated the window, and the plane shook violently. A flight attendant cried out in alarm, followed by several thuds as heavy objects hit the ground.

Jack grabbed JJ's hand, his healing spell ready to be cast. If anything went wrong, as long as they didn't disintegrate on the spot or crash directly into the sea or land, he was confident he could keep her alive until the end.

Fortunately, it was a close call. As the turbulence gradually subsided, the plane finally returned to stable flight.

From the back of the cabin ca the sobs of a female passenger and the sounds of soone vomiting. Jack turned to look at the rear; the curtain separating business class and economy class had just been pulled open, and two female flight attendants were unbuckled and heading towards economy class.

So overhead bins in economy class had been knocked open, and several small suitcases had fallen to the floor. The crew was quietly reassuring the panicked passengers while stuffing the fallen suitcases back into place.

The seatbelt indicator light remained on for a long ti. After gathering her belongings, the flight attendant quickly returned and re-fastened her seatbelt.

"Jack, look," JJ suddenly gestured for Jack to look out the window.

To the right of the plane, below and to the left, a huge vortex of dark clouds was slowly rotating, with dense lightning flashing intermittently, illuminating the area clearly.

It was a newly ford tropical storm, a scene of apocalyptic grandeur that most people would never witness in their lifeti. Of course, Jack wasn't happy about his "luck."

Several passengers sitting in the right-side window seats also noticed this spectacle and gasped in surprise.

A short while later, a "ding-dong" sound rang out, and the seatbelt indicator light finally went out. Everyone in the cabin breathed a sigh of relief.

Jack released JJ's hand, finding both of their palms covered in cold sweat.

A female flight attendant loosened her seatbelt and was about to stand up when suddenly, lightning flashed and thunder roared again outside, the entire aircraft shook violently, and then the seatbelt indicator light ca on again.

Just as everyone's hearts were gripped again, an incredibly bright bolt of lightning suddenly shot out from the cockpit at the nose of the plane. A ball of lightning, traveled at an extrely fast speed along the aisle between the seats, finally disappearing into the tail.

"What was that?"

"Damn it, I can't see anything."

"What kind of monster is that? It's crawled into the plane."

"Is it an alien?"

Just as the passengers were screaming, the cabin lights suddenly went out, followed by a violent jolt, and everyone felt weightless.

In an instant, everyone's heart felt like it was in their throat, in a physical sense, and their buttocks felt like they were about to be lifted off their seats. If it weren't for their seatbelts, so people might have already hit the ceiling.

"Isabella!" the flight attendant nad Bonnie scread.

Jack turned around and saw the flight attendant who hadn't had ti to fasten her seatbelt lying in the aisle, her neck bent at an odd angle.

"Damn it, is she still alive?" The Interpol officer nad Karam on the other side quickly unbuckled his seatbelt, wanting to check on her.

"Get back in your seat and fasten your seatbelt!" Bonnie scread, reminding the well-aning Interpol officer.

The feeling of weightlessness returned, this ti with even more violent turbulence, and the plane tilted noticeably to one side.

Fortunately, Jack acted quickly, grabbing the Interpol officer's arm and pulling him back before his head hit the ceiling.

"She's dead. Get back in and fasten your seatbelt. This isn't the ti for you to be reckless."

The plane continued to shake violently, and the airliner was steadily descending. Cries and screams filled the cabin.

An ominous humming sound emanated from the fuselage, as if it would break apart at any mont.

How long it lasted — it felt like an eternity, yet also like only a few minutes — the feeling of weightlessness disappeared, and the cabin lights ca back on, this ti as yellow ergency lights.

Although the fuselage was still shaking, the terrifying humming sound had finally subsided.

Feeling the discomfort in his eardrums from the change in air pressure, Jack realized the plane had just dropped a significant amount of altitude.

At that mont, the flight attendant, Bonnie, bravely unbuckled her seatbelt, stumbled to the flight attendant's body, felt for her carotid artery, then covered her mouth, forcing back a low cry of grief.

[A/n: Is this true?

Almost unbearable urge to urinate indicated that the airliner was steadily descending
