Jack picked up his two handguns from the ground. He noticed two fine scratches on the ivory plaque of the Python revolver's handle, feeling a pang of regret. This large weapon, more of an art piece than a tool, was far more expensive than his old, beat-up car.

Two wounded paradics were rushed in for ergency treatnt, and the female gunman was also taken to the hospital by her colleagues from the police station.

Dr. Morgan, seemingly used to big scenes, showed little panic. She nodded to Jack, one hand covering her abraded arm with gauze.

"Let's go. Officer Bradford needs to be quarantined for 24 hours. You co with to get your injuries treated."

Jack entered the hospital, but his mind was elsewhere. It wouldn't have been a big deal, but what had just happened gave him a headache. Zoe would definitely be incredibly busy tonight, and the bespectacled girl had reportedly gone to assist the FBI with profiling a serial killer a few days ago, possibly not returning until Christmas.

Would he have to go ho alone tonight? The thought made him feel miserable.

The graze on his arm from Angela's bullet was reapplied and bandaged. The small cut on his forehead wasn't even red or swollen; a little ointnt was all it took. The burn on his left hand had been secretly healed with a healing spell, leaving only slight redness and swelling.

Soon, the incredibly brave Jack had fled the hospital in a sorry state. Not only did a young female nurse directly ask for his contact information, but several middle-aged won even tried to slip notes into his pocket.

Outside, he saw Nolan and his group still there, being interviewed by a beautifully made-up blonde female reporter with a caraman. Hungry and ready to make a hasty escape, Jack was stopped by the sharp-eyed Lucy.

"Jack, this is the heroic police officer who was so brave just now. You can ask him any questions you have."

The group of idiots all took a step back in unison, and a microphone was imdiately thrust to Jack's mouth.

"Hello, Officer Jack Tavelor, this is Tyler Kelly, a Channel 8 news anchor. Would you be willing to speak on cara about how you stopped this attack? The public will definitely be interested in you."

This was the first ti in Jack's life that a television cara had been pointed directly at his face. He was slightly nervous, but still managed his characteristic shy smile,.

"Protecting the public is our duty at the LAPD. Stopping this preditated terrorist attack was achieved through the teamwork of all the officers at our Wilshire Precinct."

"I'm sorry, the case isn't completely closed yet, and I don't have the authority to reveal too many details. My colleagues and I have been working from morning till late at night, barely eating anything. I wonder if it's alright?"

The young and beautiful female anchor seed particularly understanding, waving her hand to signal the caraman behind her to turn off the cara, but she didn't imdiately let Jack go. Instead, she bit her lip and turned her head to look at him with a particularly alluring gaze.

"Then may I have the honor of inviting the valiant officer to dinner?"

"Huh?" Jack quickly dropped his business smile. Wasn't that smile supposed to only work on mature won overflowing with maternal instincts? How co this young lady looked about the sa age as Hannah?

"Um, I already have plans with my colleagues, they're all waiting for ."

He wasn't good at rejecting won, and looked at her with an awkward smile.

The blonde female anchor nad Tyler Kelly didn't say anything more, but simply stuffed a business card into Jack's uniform jacket pocket. Her fair hand seed to press on his pectoral muscle intentionally or unintentionally, then she made a phone call gesture with her fingers near her ear, without making a sound, but her mouth clearly said two words: "CALL ."

"I saw her assault a police officer. Do you want to help you arrest her?"

After the journalists left, Nolan stood next to Jack, teasing him with an uncle-like smile.

Jack rolled his eyes at him with disgust. His hobby was eating gossip, not being eaten gossiped about, and then glared at Angela across from him with a strange expression.

"I'll treat you and Wesley to dinner tonight, but you still have to pay back for the uniforms. Don't tell Hannah."

It was called dinner, but it was really just a simple burger joint to fill their stomachs. Everyone went ho afterward. Regardless of whether they were given administrative leave tomorrow, everyone still had to go back to the police station to fill out reports. Today, everyone except Lucy had fired at least one magazine.

Still troubled, Jack drove his secondhand Chevrolet ho. He'd just parked in the garage and was about to get out and close the door when a pretty figure opened the passenger door and slipped in.

Jack was startled, but quickly realized it was Zoe. His hand, which had been resting on his Glock, imdiately shifted.

"I thought you'd be very busy today," Jack asked after a passionate, almost suffocating kiss.

Zoe's tongue licked her slightly swollen red lips. Her shapely upper body leaned over the center console, reclining the driver's seat and pressing herself against Jack, her eyes turning dangerous.

"Is that Channel 8 anchor pretty?"

Jack's survival instincts kicked in, and he imdiately pulled out the business card from his pocket and handed it to her.

"She's way less attractive than you, and her skin is terrible too. She relies entirely on expensive costics. Look at you, you don't even need wax anymore."

He gently stroked her smooth cheek with the back of his hand. Zoe flipped his hand over and pressed it against her face, sighing.

"I'm just telling you that Tyler Kelly's father is a judge in the LA Supre Court. She's vaguely heard about your relationship with Hannah, and she's deliberately trying to provoke you."

"Huh?" Jack was quite surprised, not expecting this news anchor to have such a powerful background.

"They have a grudge?"

Zoe shook her head: "She was Hannah's high school classmate after she ca to LA, and they're mortal enemies, the kind who compete in everything."

"Besides not being able to beat Hannah, they compare everything from grades to extracurricular competitions, even their clothes. Their war has been going on for many years."

Jack suddenly realized: "So she deliberately seduced to embarrass Hannah?"

Zoe frowned and thought for a mont: "Maybe? Or maybe she's just curious. I even thought she had a crush on Hannah at one point."

"Hiss!" Jack gasped. So she might be a rival with complicated feelings.

"Don't worry, I'll definitely keep my chastity for you all, and I won't give the enemy any chance."

Zoe laughed and leaned against him. "I know you too well; you're just not good at saying no, especially to pretty won."

At a ti like this, you absolutely can't just go along with it and say, "Yeah, yeah, you're right." Jack had that much awareness, practically swearing an oath for his chastity.
