Zoe completely disregarded Jack's oath, instead leaning in with seductive eyes and licking his ear with her tongue.
Jack trembled from the lick and asked incredulously, "Here?"
"We've never tried this in the car before, have we?"
"My garage door isn't closed."
"Just close the windows, right?"
"I think I should consider getting a new car."
Lost in the embrace of her gentle touch, he finally found his relief for the night.
The successful resolution of this terrorist attack case certainly brought great pride to the LAPD leadership. Commander Grey's promotion seed a certainty, and Nolan and Lucy would face their assessnts early after the Christmas holidays; passing would end their rookie status.
The higher-ups had even generously allocated funds as bonuses for several ritorious officers, which was undoubtedly good news for Jack; his bathroom renovation plan could finally begin.
Because the case involved multiple units and was inherently complex, everyone was given two weeks of administrative leave, a rare treat for police officers who usually only get ti off during Christmas.
However, this also led to the cancellation of their planned dinner party. Nolan flew back to Pennsylvania to see his son and deal with his property issues with his ex-wife.
Tim, perhaps having survived a near-death experience and gained so insight, also returned to his hotown to visit his long-lost sister.
Angela and Wesley, the two forr rivals, were now inseparable, not only officially living together but also vacationing in Hawaii. Lucy subtly gossiped that Wesley might use the opportunity to propose.
Jack, who enjoyed gossip but disliked being seen with couples, didn't bother to inquire about their relationship. Besides being busy with exercise and studies, he gained another custor: Nyla Harper, who loved sweet food and was also a heavy drinker, no less than Tim.
This woman was quite pitiful. She abandoned her family for her career, going undercover in a gang for years, only to end up divorced and separated from her daughter.
Now, she's co to her senses, giving up her career to beco a regular patrol officer, hoping for a stable job so she can spend more ti with her daughter — of course, custody is out of the question.
Her experience solidified Jack's resolve: anyone who tries to persuade him to go undercover will have their brains knocked out!
Of course, Jack didn't feed for nothing. After a few als, he extracted a wealth of information from Harper about drugs, drug dealers, and related gangs — information that wouldn't be found in books, only a seasoned undercover agent like her could know so well.
Now, Jack can tell if a street thug has killed anyone, belongs to any gang, and the nature of those gangs just by glancing at their tattoos. He can also understand most gang slang and jargon with a high degree of accuracy.
Besides that, he wasn't idle either. After ssing around with the kitchen, he started ssing around with the bathroom. He smashed the old bathtub and simply built a large fra with cent, taking up two-thirds of the original bathroom space.
Next, they bought a bunch of anti-corrosion marine oak planks, applied three thick layers of waterproof paint to the cent fra, carefully pieced the oak planks together to the inner wall, and finally sanded them smooth. A luxurious bathtub that could accommodate at least three people was completed.
The comfort was undeniable; Zoe and Maureen both loved it.
However, due to so unspeakable reasons, neither of them could spend Christmas with Jack. Maureen had to attend the Anderson family's Christmas dinner as her partner.
Jack wasn't particularly fond of Christmas anyway, but he was a little disappointed that his planned Christmas dinner with Nolan and the others was canceled. He ended up going to the Hunters' house instead and making dumplings for the two childless elderly people, which was quite enjoyable.
In the first week after New Year's Day, just before the holiday ended, everyone, including Angela who was vacationing in Hawaii, rushed back to attend the LAPD's annual New Year's Eve dinner.
Besides the LAPD's Chief of Police, even the Governor was present at the dinner, invited to present dals to the officers.
Besides Jack and four other officers from the precinct receiving Police Stars, Nolan and Lucy, as rookie officers, unexpectedly received a dal of Distinguished Service. Adding to this, the Wilshire Precinct received a Comndation for Outstanding Collective Service, making today's event a resounding success for the precinct.
Commander Grey, representing the precinct to receive the Comndation for Outstanding Collective Service, was beaming with excitent. After a stamring speech, tears even glistened in his eyes.
Jack, wearing his dal and standing on the stage alongside him, chuckled to himself. It seed the day everyone would start calling him Chief wouldn't be far off.
Bored, he glanced down furtively. Many familiar faces were present at the banquet. Maureen, Zoe's date was there. The two stunningly beautiful won, one in uniform and the other in a glamorous evening gown, kept glancing at Jack.
Hunter's couple were also here, Zoe's grandfather, Mr. Anderson, was also present. Jack recognized him from Zoe's family photo; the old man seed to have a good relationship with the Hunters, and they were whispering to each other, seemingly engrossed in their conversation.
Jack rembered Zoe ntioning that the congressman behind the Kleiner Foundation seed to be on the verge of falling from power, with Mr. Anderson playing a significant role in pushing things along. He hadn't expected the Anderson family, a powerful force in California, to actually extend their influence to Washington when provoked.
He considered contacting the accountant, Christian Wolff, as soon as possible. From the terrorist attack and the two dals, he had earned a total of six system coins, far exceeding his expectations.
This ant that the original three-month agreent could be brought forward significantly. He wanted to gain favor with the accountant sooner, leveraging his and Justin's connections to conduct preliminary research on the Kleiner Foundation.
After all, when he watched the show, he was too focused on the explosive action scenes. Aside from a certain morable scene, all he rembered was the na of the Kleiner Foundation and the criminal organization's counterfeit money printing process.
Lost in thought, Jack suddenly felt a strange gaze fixed on him from below the stage. Following the direction, he saw a news anchor nad Tyler Kelly, dressed in a low-cut blue starry evening gown, arm in arm with a middle-aged (or perhaps elderly?) man in his fifties or sixties, exuding a rather dignified air. Her beautiful eyes were fixed on him without blinking.
