Upon hearing this, a look of schadenfreude appeared on everyone’s faces.
Originally, with the big boss off to take the college entrance exam, they could have let loose. Instead, they were told that a new executive director had arrived. Before his arrival, they were concerned about what kind of executive director he might be and whether he was soone sent by the higher-ups. But when the door opened, they saw a young man, and everyone breathed a collective sigh of relief.
He might be handso, but he still looks like a college student. And college students are the easiest to bully.
But since he was here, they had to show so basic respect, so no one left. They wanted to see what he was made of so they could decide how to proceed. He does look a little familiar, though.
Xue Yang’s eyebrow twitched. The sales director was making him, the new boss, wait.
Interesting.
"Since Manager Wu is so busy, we won’t wait for her," he announced. "Let’s begin the eting. First, I’ll introduce myself. My na is Xue Yang, and I’m the new executive director. I look forward to working with you all."
Xue Yang? Why does that na sound so familiar?
Yang Yunfeng, the logistics manager, was the first to react. "Xue Yang? Isn’t that our company’s new brand ambassador? So it’s you!"
The brand ambassador is now the executive director?
The expressions on their faces were just as stunned as Jennifer’s, if not more so. After all, while Jennifer knew Xue Yang well, the others only knew him as the company’s brand ambassador and a college student. Now, there was no way to hide his student status.
If I can’t hide it, then I won’t.
"Manager Yang has a good mory," Xue Yang said. "Yes, I am indeed Xue Yang, the company’s brand ambassador."
So he really is just a college student. Nothing to be afraid of. And here we thought the big boss would bring in soone formidable. No wonder he looked so familiar when we walked in. His photo is plastered all over the company, isn’t it? We probably see it eight hundred tis a day. We’ve seen it so often that we couldn’t even recognize him in person.
"I generally rember anyone who has registered with the company, let alone our own brand ambassador," Yang Yunfeng said.
Xue Yang nodded. "Manager Yang is very professional."

Being praised by a superior should have been a happy occasion, but praise from Xue Yang feels strangely off. Was he calling out for not recognizing him when he first walked in? I’ve never dealt with him directly before, so isn’t it normal not to recognize him? But why do I feel a little guilty? What the hell?
"Manager Yang, please compile a file of all company personnel for after the eting. Thank you," Xue Yang requested.
"Of course, President Xue."
Huh? Did I agree a little too quickly? But I’ve already said yes, so I’ll just have to make a note of it. It’s just personnel files, anyway. I can just give them to him. Compared to what others might be asked, my task is probably the simplest.
"Jennifer, how is the sumr clothing line progressing?" Xue Yang asked, turning to her.
"President Xue, I’m halfway done," Jennifer replied. "We should have the finished products in another week. You can try them on then, and we can proceed with the photoshoot."
"Good, very good."
Xue Yang then addressed the finance manager. "Also, I’d like the company’s financial statents since its establishnt. Thank you."
Manager Zeng was slightly startled. "Xue Yang, the company’s annual reports are all on file. I can send you a copy later."
"I want the detailed reports. The more detailed, the better."
At these words, the color drained from Zeng Xiaoli’s face. Financial reports from the very beginning of the company were a massive undertaking. It also demonstrated one thing: asking to see the financial reports ant this new director would not be easy to fool.
"I’m a finance student at Yannorth University," Xue Yang added. "While there might be so things I don’t understand, if I run into anything, I can always ask my professor for help."
If Zeng Xiaoli had rely been troubled before, now she was terrified.
A finance professor from Yannorth personally examining her reports? That would be a disaster.
Zeng Xiaoli grew restless, wanting to rush back to her office and start on the statents imdiately. He’s a tough one, she thought, her heart pounding with panic. This is bad. There’s no way to hide it now.
As for Zhang Yao, the procurent manager...
"President Xue, after the eting, I will compile the detailed procurent records from over the years for your review," Zhang Yao said, taking the initiative.
"Okay, thank you."
With most matters arranged, Wu iju, the general manager of the sales departnt, finally sauntered in.
"Are you the new executive director?" she asked the mont she walked in. Her tone was so dismissive it was as if Xue Yang were a new hire in her departnt.
Xue Yang answered with a smile, "That’s right."
This sales GM, Wu iju, seed to be about the sa age as Zhang Yao. However, from dealing with clients year-round, she dressed much more fashionably. Even though spring hadn’t arrived and the temperature was still more than ten degrees below zero, she wore very little. As the older generation would say, she chose style over warmth. She was also quite beautiful. If Xue Yang hadn’t already seen beauties on the level of Lin Xi and Si Wen, he might have been impressed. As it was, he just thought she looked decent.
As he was pondering, Wu iju walked up to the seat beside him. Up close, the heavy scent of her perfu was unmistakable. Xue Yang instinctively furrowed his brow.
How many layers of perfu did she put on? Isn’t she worried she’ll scare off clients?
"Judging by your age, you must be quite young, right?"
Hearing Wu iju’s question, Xue Yang’s expression didn’t change much, but he couldn’t help his inner thoughts. I knew people might look down on because of my age, but I didn’t expect soone to question it right off the bat. Aren’t I supposed to be her boss now?
"My age has nothing to do with this eting, does it?"
"True, it doesn’t. In that case, let ask you: do you know anything about sales?"
"Isn’t that your job, Manager Wu?"
"What I an is, if I wanted to expand the market overseas right now, would you consider it necessary?"
Questioning about market expansion from the get-go is a clear power play, an attempt to put in my place. How amusing. Shouldn’t it be the boss intimidating the subordinate, not the other way around?
"I think it’s completely unnecessary to rush into overseas expansion just yet," Xue Yang stated. "Street fashion is a brand type that only erged in the last two years. Its dostic sales are in a period of stable growth. The focus should be on stabilizing the brand and developing new dostic custors, not blindly shifting targets. Doing so would only lead to losing our existing custor base."
Wu iju scoffed. "This is why professional matters should be left to the professionals. You should know that the dostic market is already nearing saturation. That’s why I want to expand our business overseas. I see no problem with that."
He’s just a kid. How could she not be able to handle him?
