'What a lovely, elaborate inheritance. So much effort was put into ticulously designing it... a pity,' he mused to himself. It consisted of several sections beyond the cavern where the Regret Gu were kept. However, he was able to unravel them all with a wave of his hand and walked through the entrance of the cavern where the Regret Gu were and proceeded to go deeper down via its exit which had appeared with a wave of his hand.
"Hmm," Bai Ning Bing said, stopping by so of the clues left behind by the Thought Ruler Demon Lord. "It looks like he was soone who could have gotten to Rank 6 and had discovered how to do so, but his deductions told him that he would fail over and over."
This was certainly valuable information to Bai Ning Bing, who knew that she would have to ascend to beco an Immortal at so point in order to escape from the limitations of the Northern Dark Ice Soul Physique she had been born with.
"Haha, Fang Yuan, do you think that you can get to Rank 6 using this inheritance? It doesn't seem to be too easy. The Thought Ruler Demon Lord went on and on about how he was preparing for decades for his Immortal ascension but was ultimately still unable to satisfactorily have a counter to the trials that would await him, and could only wait and give up, dying of old age once his additional lifespan from the 80 Years Lifespan Gu had run out," she said.
"Oh? It seems that I will have great trouble reaching Rank 6 then. The exit is over here. Hurry up," Fang Yuan said, bored out of his mind by these findings.
Beyond this cavern with the Regret Gu there was another section of the inheritance filled with spiked pits. If one was not careful, they would fall to their death and impale themselves upon them. They would have to solve an intricate puzzle in a certain way in order to prevent their demise. At least ordinarily, that is what they would have to do.
Fang Yuan, though, simply constructed a path and walked over it.
"Hey, aren't you being a bit too carefree with this!?" Bai Ning Bing shouted after him, certain that Fang Yuan was sohow marching off towards his death.
To her surprise, however, Fang Yuan simply continued to walk forward as if he were taking a leisurely stroll in the park rather than infiltrating a demonic inheritance.
"I knew it. You know sothing about this that I don't, right?" she shouted out as Fang Yuan made it to the end of this section without a scratch on him.
"Co over, Bai Ning Bing. We can talk about this later," Fang Yuan said, waving her over.
Thanks to the binding effects of the Poison Vow Gu, Bai Ning Bing did not hesitate and assud since Fang Yuan could walk across, she too would be safe. She headed across and followed him down the next section of the inheritance, which was a maze with shifting sections that would, without a doubt, have been dizzying to anyone else. Yet Fang Yuan found the exit almost imdiately.
"Stop lying. You do know about this from beforehand, don't you?" Bai Ning Bing asked.
"Don't be ridiculous. Our agreent says that we cannot lie to each other," Fang Yuan said. "And the truth of the matter is, I have no foreknowledge of this section. It's just that this demonic inheritance is very easy to get through. I think the Thought Ruler Demon Lord was just a real softy at heart and was just maligned by the world, much like myself."
Bai Ning Bing snorted as they continued going down.
There were more ssages left by the Thought Ruler Demon Lord.
There was even a small diagram of the Imperial Court Blessed Land where he had obtained this inheritance. To Bai Ning Bing's surprise, this was the one thing that Fang Yuan seed to be mildly interested in, as he walked over to it and seed to be trying to record it within an Information Path Gu worm.
"The Imperial Court is in the Northern Plains," Bai Ning Bing pointed out. "What's even the point of that map? Surely you can't be planning to go over there." She sneered further. "As I've heard, it doesn't even matter if you reach the Northern Plains. Unless you manage to join up with one of the mbers of Giant Sun Immortal Venerable's lineage, they won't let you in. And being an outsider from the Southern Border, you most definitely will not be welcod."
She was looking to get a rise out of him, but he simply walked on further.
'Damn it,' she thought to herself.
Although they had made good progress while exploring the inheritance, they hadn't really found anything that was too valuable. So wild Rank 4 Gu worms here and there which they could sell, but nothing out of the ordinary.
Where was the massive wealth that the Thought Ruler Demon Lord was said to have?
"Ordinarily, we would have to go past that room," Fang Yuan said, pointing down a dark corridor. "But we can easily go ahead and bypass it here."
Fang Yuan ducked after pressing a small stone which opened up a side passage and went down it.
"You really are being a bit too carefree. This is a demonic inheritance," Bai Ning Bing yelled out after him, trying to remind him, but Fang Yuan seed to move without a care in the world. Back with the Flesh Bone Lord's inheritance, where he had been quite careful, testing things out and sotis running into dead ends. Right now, though, he was simply going through things with the attitude of a charging bull, as if nothing could stop him.
"Here it is," Fang Yuan said after they had gone through the small corridor and opened up into a clearing. There was a stone pedestal in the middle of the room, and there was a gu worm hibernating being sustained by a field of Cranium Mushrooms, its aura weak but still noticeable.
Bai Ning Bing's eyes widened. A Rank 5 gu worm!
Rank 5 Depression Millipede!
"Fang Yuan, you must hand over this gu worm entirely to . You still owe for the Frost Lance Gu, and also for everything I had to pay for while coming to get you," she said.
"Hmm?" Fang Yuan muttered as if he hadn't even heard her, nor did he care. "Oh yeah, sure, whatever."
Bai Ning Bing was getting this excited and nearly jumping up and down at the thought of getting a single Rank 5 Depression Millipede.
Fang Yuan had several hundreds of them within his aperture which he had bought on Yellow Treasure Heaven. He was not interested in this gu worm, but rather what lay around it.
This room had several of the Thought Ruler Demon Lord's treasures. There were several storage-type gu worms that contained tens of thousands of prival stones.
The Thought Ruler Demon Lord may have been a demonic cultivator, but clearly he did not lack for resources despite this. The racket he kept ongoing in the area provided him with a large stash to work with as evidenced by his treasure hoard. There were nearly two million prival stones in total, more than enough to wipe out Fang Yuan's debt if he still cared about that. Not to ntion recipes for Wisdom and Emotion Path gu worms like the Depression Millipede and ways to help rear them.
Fang Yuan did not bother with any such things. He turned his attention to the nurous books that were left scattered around. Journals in which the Thought Ruler Demon Lord had inscribed his journey, and potentially, a portion of the inheritance he had received in the Imperial Court Blessed Land. Did he really stumble upon sothing left behind by Giant Sun Immortal Venerable?
