Fang Yuan entered the dream realm and found himself standing in a valley with a clear sky above him. The vast open plain was littered with small groves of trees though not as tall as those in the Southern Border region. He glanced around and instantly a wave of nostalgia hit him. He recognized this valley.
He had been here before!
He checked the gu worms within his aperture and found that he was currently a Rank 6 Gu Immortal. But his aperture was not the one he had in reality, and despite its similarities to the one he had during his previous life, it also had its differences. In other words, this was the aperture of a Blood Path Gu Immortal.
He had initially assud that this dream realm might have belonged to the first-generation Gu Yue ancestor, but if that person had managed to get to Rank 6 at any point, there was no way that Fang Yuan would have survived an encounter with him.
Moreover, there was the scenery around him.
Fang Yuan had been to this place in his previous life, though not as this person. This was the area on the Central Continent wherein he had encountered an inheritance left behind by the Blood Sea Ancestor, an inheritance that had drastically shifted his trajectory in life. After he had stumbled upon this inheritance, he was able to cultivate to Rank 6 and set out on the path of cultivating as a Blood Path Gu Immortal.
So things were different - the small obelisk that had been there when he was here looked like it hadn't been erected yet.
The person that Fang Yuan was in the dream realm laid down their aperture in this area. An Immortal's aperture was a reflection of their life experiences, so even if two Gu Immortals cultivated the sa path, their apertures would still be slightly different. With that said, Fang Yuan was experienced enough when it ca to cultivating the Blood Path to figure out the general layout of this person's aperture and what they were trying to do with their resources. He could see several areas for improvent when it ca to resource managent, but it seed like this person had attempted to do a reasonable job of managing their aperture.
It quickly beca clear as to why it was that they had decided to lay down their aperture, as a massive amount of Heaven and Earth qi rushed in. This person was about to undergo a Heavenly Tribulation. Based on what Fang Yuan could see of their dao marks, it looked like they had already been through two, aning that this person was close to becoming a Rank 7 Gu Immortal.
"Not yet, not yet, I just need so more ti," the person whom Fang Yuan was playing in the dream realm said.
Fang Yuan did not have control over this person's actions imdiately. This person took out a massive set of gu worms which began trying to arrange themselves, nervously glancing out at the tribulation forming. It was then that Fang Yuan was allowed to take over.
Glancing over at this construct of gu worms, it seed that this Gu Immortal was trying to create a kind of Gu House. A Blood Path Gu House, no less, though Fang Yuan could not feel any traces of an Immortal aura from it aning it was only a Rank 5 Gu House.
The Gu House in question seed to only be forty percent complete.
Fang Yuan scanned the gu worms used to make the Gu House. Many of them were a kind of old Blood Path Gu worm, and those which were available for him to assemble were also a bit old-fashioned. He had created many of his own Blood Path recipes during his old life, and was able to reasonably deduce what so of these gu worms did, even if they had sowhat fallen out of use in the future.
The only problem was trying to actually build the Gu House in question. It appeared that that was the ultimate aim of this dream realm. This would've been a complex enough project without the fear of there being a tribulation hanging over his head. While going over things Fang Yuan quickly realized that he was going to fail unless he had external help.
Fang Yuan kept his heart and mind steady as he activated the killer move that he had created, using Dreams of Love and Happiness as its focal point and various Emotion and Dream Path Gu worms as accessories.
Wisdom Path Gu Masters needed to place great emphasis on the emotions that they felt, because these emotions could be premonitions for what might happen in the future, as well as a warning regarding danger that might be right around the corner.
Furthermore, there was so nuance with this - as for when the Wisdom Path Gu Master would get a premonition would depend upon their knowledge of other paths. The Ti as well as Luck Path attainnt of the Gu Immortal in question was important. If their Ti Path attainnt was high, then it was highly likely that they would be able to get this premonition before the event occurred. Otherwise, it might happen afterwards, which would ultimately be pointless.
The Thought Ruler Demon Lord knew of this concept.
And while these kinds of feelings could co to Gu Masters on their own, he had tried to create a killer move in order to sense these feelings at any ti. It was called Emotional Guidance, though he had ultimately failed in constructing this as the killer move was too complex for a mortal to use.
Fang Yuan had taken this incomplete killer move and modified it, using Unravel Dream as a basis, to create a move that could give him emotional guidance specifically within dreams. Therefore, he called this killer move Dream Realm Emotional Compass.
Its greatest flaw was that, much like Familial Emotion, it consud a large number of gu worms while being used, both of the Emotion Path as well as of the Dream Path, aning it could not be spamd over and over. With that said, Fang Yuan didn't think he was going to get any bit further when it ca to exploring this dream realm without using it, so he activated it. Not to ntion until Fang Yuan tested it out, he couldn't know if there were any areas to improve it or not even if this would further deplete his reserves of those gu worms.
Once he activated this killer move, several of the gu worms around him seed to give him a warm feeling in his stomach. The other gu worms in question made him feel ill at ease, almost as if they disgusted him.
Relying upon this instinct, Fang Yuan took many of the Gu worms which were giving him a nice feeling and began trying to assemble them within the Gu House in question. As he began building it, he would occasionally get a nasty pit forming in his stomach, signaling that he was on the wrong track, and he would have to hastily try and fix it.
This was ant to mimic the effect of Unravel Dream, but it was very clearly inferior as it did not give Fang Yuan any direct answers or solve a portion of it for him. But it was still better than trying to get through things blindly.
Unfortunately, he was unable to perfect it in ti, as the tribulation above precipitated and materialized into a snake that was nearly as thick as a modern-day skyscraper and four tis as long. The snake was covered in crimson-red scales from head to toe, and its venomous gaze imdiately locked onto Fang Yuan. This was the heavenly calamity Vajra Blood Serpent! It was a desolate beast with incredible defensive prowess owing to the scales that covered its body.
With the Gu House in question still only about seventy percent done, Fang Yuan could not rely upon it to strike out at the Vajra Blood Serpent. There were nurous Blood Path killer moves that he knew which might have still caused a significant amount of damage to it, but that was not how the logic of this dream realm worked.
As Fang Yuan flew up to try and fight it, he ultimately lost, being defeated by this Heavenly Calamity, and the dream realm ended.
