With sufficient Spirit Stones loaded, the cannons could seriously injure Nascent Soul realm cultivators.

That alone made them terrifying.

There were only three.

Han Yu stored them imdiately.

’Qing Luan’s people will love these.’ He thought.

Perhaps they could replicate them.

Even partial success would be worthwhile.

Imagine rchant caravans carrying hidden artillery.

Han Yu almost smiled.

The idea was beautiful.

He continued searching.

Palm Hand Lu had accumulated wealth for decades and it showed.

Storage rooms filled with Spirit Stones.

Rare ores.

Formation materials.

Spirit herbs.

Several spatial bags.

Weapon racks.

Alchemy ingredients.

Han Yu collected everything.

He did not even hesitate.

If Palm Hand Lu complained...

Well.

The man was dead.

Eventually Han Yu reached the study.

This place interested him more.

Docunts.

Records.

Maps.

Correspondence.

These often carried more value than treasure.

He sat down and began reading.

Several docunts would need to be preserved for Lady Rot Rose.

Proof.

Reports.

Information regarding the rituals.

He set those aside.

The rest... He kept.

And soon he found sothing interesting.

Palm Hand Lu’s background.

Han Yu raised his brows while reading.

"So that was it..."

Palm Hand Lu was not rely so local tyrant. He was actually the illegitimate son of a mber of the Thunderclap Clan hidden sowhere in the south.

"No wonder he had the cannons." Han Yu muttered.

The docunts continued.

Apparently the Thunderclap Clan had fragnted long ago. Branches split repeatedly over generations. Many no longer even knew of each other. Palm Hand Lu’s father ca from one such hidden branch.

Even more interesting...

That branch had discovered remnants relating to the Frost Bat Clan.

Old records.

Ruins.

Fragnts.

And among them... The smiling ritual.

Palm Hand Lu misunderstood it completely. He thought it was rely a longevity thod. As such, he had stolen the docunts and run away from his clan.

Han Yu sighed.

Greed truly destroyed people.

The man had chased immortality and ended up becoming a stepping stone.

Hours passed.

Eventually Chitterfang and his children returned. The fat rat climbed onto a table with considerable effort. He had grown even rounder sohow.

"How was cleanup?" Han Yu asked.

"Excellent!" Chitterfang puffed out his chest proudly. "The children gathered everything!"

Han Yu nodded.

"Good."

The rat then leaned closer.

"We also found shiny stones."

Of course.

Han Yu sighed and stored them all into the beast bracelet. The rat battalions entered one after another.

Thousands vanished.

Soon only Chitterfang remained.

The fat rat looked at him hopefully.

Han Yu stared.

"No."

The rat drooped.

"You are going in too."

A tragic squeak echoed through the room.

After everything was done... Han Yu finally departed.

The journey back to the sect began.

Thankfully the mission had not taken excessively long.

The return trip passed quietly.

Yet during the journey Han Yu’s mind remained busy.

Work.

His peak.

The Jiangshi.

The contracts.

The maintenance clauses.

He suddenly felt a headache.

When he first started selling Jiangshi he never expected this scale.

Now the entire sect wanted them.

Every sale beca future work.

Maintenance.

Repairs.

Upgrades.

Replacents.

He was drowning in his own success.

"I need limits..." Han Yu muttered.

The ti had co.

Most of the sect already possessed Jiangshi.

He could reduce production now.

Limit sales.

Slow expansion.

People would complain.

He knew it.

Without doubt.

So would throw tantrums.

Others would protest.

A few would probably cry.

Han Yu already prepared excuses.

Limited production.

Rare materials.

Research.

Quality control.

New models.

He had many reasons ready.

The maintenance clause itself remained troubleso though. He could only hope his Jiangshi improved enough to assist more.

Several months later...

The familiar sight of the sect finally appeared in the distance.

Towering peaks rose into the sky while a bleeding red moon hovered above them. Blood colored formations shimred and disciples moved like ants below.

Han Yu let out a breath.

Ho.

Or as close to ho as this cursed place could be.

He did not stop.

He flew directly toward his peak.

No mission pavilion.

No reports.

Not yet.

He landed at the palatial residence and imdiately entered. He already knew soone would co find him. Lady Rot Rose certainly knew he had returned. The mission token alone probably inford her already.

There was no escaping the report.

Still...

Han Yu intended to rest first.

And more importantly... Prepare his complaints.

Because this mission had been ridiculous.

He nearly died.

Fought an ancient ritual.

Helped stop a deity.

Found hidden clans.

Ford an alliance.

Advanced his soul cultivation.

And discovered the history of an exterminated race.

If Lady Rot Rose did not compensate him properly... Han Yu was absolutely going to complain.

A lot.

Very eloquently too.

The mont Han Yu returned to his peak, work imdiately descended upon him. The peaceful image he had built in his head during the journey back shattered almost instantly.

Scrolls were stacked on tables.

Orders waited for approval.

Reports had accumulated.

Requests from disciples had piled into small hills.

Maintenance records occupied an entire shelf.

Han Yu stood there silently for a few seconds before turning toward ng Jueyan.

"...How bad?" he asked.

ng Jueyan stood beside a table filled with docunts and calmly replied.

"Manageable."

Han Yu looked at the mountain of paperwork.

"You and I have very different definitions of manageable."

ng Jueyan ignored that.

She handed him several ledgers first.

"These are the production reports for the Jiangshi workshop. Sales continued while you were away. We delayed several deliveries but there are still many waiting orders." She paused before adding. "Also three inner disciples tried bribing the attendants for priority access."

Han Yu rubbed his forehead.

"Of course they did."

He sat down and began looking through the numbers.

The more he read the more horrified he beca.

Sales had exploded.

The waiting list was absurd.

The maintenance contracts alone were enough to bury him.

Even now his peak resembled a small administration departnt more than a cultivator residence.

Han Yu put the papers down.

"No. Enough." He exhaled. "We reduce production."

ng Jueyan nodded imdiately.

"I expected that."

Han Yu looked at her.

"You already knew?"

"You looked exhausted before sleeping."
