Han Yu had no response.
The woman was terrifying sotis.
He thought for a bit before speaking.
"We reduce monthly output. Existing contracts remain. Maintenance continues. New sales beco limited." He thought further. "Priority goes to existing clients and sect elders."
ng Jueyan began writing imdiately.
"I’ll prepare notices."
"Also prepare excuses."
She paused.
"Excuses?"
"Yes." Han Yu looked deeply tired already. "There will be complaints. Many complaints."
ng Jueyan considered it.
"Limited resources?"
"Good."
"Research delays?"
"Excellent."
"Quality control improvents?"
Han Yu nodded approvingly.
"You’re talented."
ng Jueyan ignored the complint.
"I’ll prepare paperwork and notices."
Then she looked at him carefully.
"You should rest."
Han Yu wanted to object.
Then he thought about everything.
The rituals.
The Eternal Smiling Ancestor.
Madam Cold Fang.
The soul breakthrough.
The journey.
The battle.
The hidden clans.
The endless planning.
He suddenly realized sothing.
ntally...
He really was tired.
Physically he felt perfectly fine.
ntally he felt like his thoughts had been ground into powder.
"...Fine." Han Yu stood up. "Wake if the sect explodes."
ng Jueyan simply nodded.
Han Yu entered his room and collapsed into the luxurious bed. It had been nearly eight months. Eight months since he had last slept properly here. The mattress felt heavenly and the mont he closed his eyes, he instantly fell asleep.
Han Yu woke up at noon the next day.
Sunlight mixed with the red glow of the moon filtered through the windows.
For a second he forgot everything.
Then reality returned.
He sat up.
Several scrolls already waited beside the bed.
Han Yu stared at them.
"They found already..."
He opened the first one.
Mission Pavilion.
They requested his mission report.
Thankfully ng Jueyan had already handled it.
A note attached beside it read: Mission report submitted.
Han Yu silently thanked her.
Then he opened the second letter.
His expression imdiately beca complicated.
Lady Rot Rose.
The letter still carried cursed wax.
Han Yu casually dealt with it now.
The seal dissolved.
He opened it.
The contents were brief.
Co visit.
Location attached.
Han Yu blinked.
Not her peak.
Instead... The Core Disciple Garden.
He actually raised his brows.
That place was unusual. The Blood Sect was not exactly known for beauty. Most places looked murderous but the garden was one of the few exceptions. It resembled a proper cultivation sect.
Flowers.
Streams.
Stone paths.
Pavilions.
Peaceful scenery.
Almost suspiciously normal.
Han Yu changed robes and headed out.
By the ti he arrived the area was already lively.
Core disciples moved around.
So cultivated.
Others talked.
The atmosphere felt oddly relaxed.
The mont they noticed him though... Everything changed.
"Greetings Legacy Disciple Ju Fan!"
"Senior Ju Fan!"
"Senior Brother Ju!"
People imdiately bowed.
So lowered their heads.
Han Yu instantly returned to his cold Ju Fan persona.
His expression flattened.
His eyes turned indifferent.
He rely glanced at them.
No words.
No acknowledgent.
Just a look.
The disciples imdiately moved aside.
Han Yu walked through calmly.
Inside though...
’This persona is exhausting after acting normal in the past few months.’
Soon he reached the pavilion.
Several guards stood openly.
More hid nearby.
Formation arrays surrounded the place.
Security was absurd.
Han Yu entered without issue.
Inside sat Lady Rot Rose.
She leaned against the pavilion railing, long pipe in hand.
Several wine bottles rested nearby.
The afternoon breeze moved her robes lightly.
She looked up.
"Ju Fan."
Han Yu greeted her and sat down.
She smiled faintly.
"So?" she asked. "How did it go?"
Han Yu looked at her.
"I assu your informants already gave reports."
"They did." She took a sip of wine. "But I prefer hearing it from your lips."
Han Yu smiled internally.
Perfect.
He had prepared for this.
He straightened slightly.
Then began.
"At first the mission seed simple."
Lady Rot Rose listened quietly.
"I arrived at the frontier expecting missing people." Han Yu sighed dramatically. "Instead I discovered an ancient conspiracy."
Her brows rose slightly.
Han Yu continued.
"There were frozen corpses everywhere. Smiling corpses. Rituals. Secret organizations."
Lady Rot Rose leaned in a little.
"I followed clues through forests, hidden caves and ancient ruins." Han Yu shook his head sadly. "Several tis I nearly died."
"How many tis?" she asked with amusent.
Han Yu thought.
"Minimum seven."
The real number was much lower.
Lady Rot Rose hid a smile.
Han Yu continued seriously.
"I discovered an ancient sealed deity."
This made her pause.
"A deity?"
Han Yu nodded solemnly.
"Ancient. Terrifying. World ending."
Lady Rot Rose finally sat upright.
Han Yu lowered his voice dramatically.
"It almost revived."
She stared.
Han Yu sighed.
"At one point I looked death in the eye."
"What happened?"
Han Yu put a hand on his chest.
"The deity looked back."
Lady Rot Rose nearly laughed.
Han Yu continued regardless.
"There were rituals everywhere. Thousands dead over the ages. Hidden spatial realms. Ancient races."
He shook his head.
"I fought strange creatures."
"Strong?"
"Peak Nascent Soul."
"That is manageable."
Han Yu imdiately looked offended.
"There were many."
"How many?"
Han Yu thought again.
"...Emotionally?"
Lady Rot Rose finally laughed.
Han Yu continued shalessly.
"The final battle nearly destroyed the region." He sighed heavily. "I had to stop an ancient resurrection while battling impossible odds."
He placed a hand dramatically on the table.
"If not for my exceptional intelligence..."
Lady Rot Rose raised a brow.
Han Yu nodded seriously.
"...and unparalleled adaptability..."
She took another sip.
"...and unmatched talent..."
Her shoulders trembled slightly.
"...and extraordinary foresight..."
Now she openly smiled.
"...the entire world might have ended."
Silence followed.
Lady Rot Rose stared at him.
Then laughed softly.
"You rehearsed this."
Han Yu looked offended again.
"I suffered."
"You dramatized."
"I nearly died."
"You exaggerate."
Han Yu leaned forward.
"The mission involved ancient deities!"
Lady Rot Rose laughed again.
That beautiful, composed woman actually looked genuinely amused now.
Finally she took a breath.
"Fine." She smiled. "You suffered greatly."
Han Yu nodded imdiately.
"Terribly."
She lifted the wine bottle.
"Then tell everything again."
Her eyes glead.
"This ti without the embellishnts."
Han Yu sighed internally.
She saw through him far too easily.
