Luo Zheng looked around, quickly selected a pile of snow, and hid himself about a ter from it. His white camouflage completely concealed his body; at first glance, one might think it was just another pile of snow. He then covered the surrounding snowflakes over his gun, not even exposing the muzzle. Luo Zheng lay in wait, his icy gaze fixed on the area ahead, his expression growing grave.

In the cold wind, Luo Zheng closely watched the front. Suddenly, a black dot appeared in his sniper scope. Luo Zheng was greatly surprised and quickly observed through the scope. Amid the swirling snow, several figures were rapidly advancing, about eight hundred ters away. The maximum killing range of the SVD could reach around three thousand eight hundred ters, while the range of the optical sight was about one thousand three hundred ters.

Eight hundred ters was within the effective range, but the strong wind combined with the glare from the snow made sniping extrely difficult. Nevertheless, Luo Zheng decisively took the shot, hoping to scare off the pursuers, reasoning that to delay even by a minute was to gain a minute.

"Whoosh!" A bullet whistled away, shattering the stillness of the snowfield. Through the sniper scope, Luo Zheng saw the Black Shadow up ahead drop to the ground and remain motionless. He couldn't help but sneer, not bothering to look for a second shot. As long as the enemy stayed put, it was all Luo Zheng could ask for, and he patiently continued to observe through the scope.

Three minutes later, a Black Shadow dashed through the scope's view. Luo Zheng didn't hesitate to lock onto the target and take aim once more. A chilling murderous intent burst forth from his cold eyes. His index finger quickly pressed the trigger, but the mont he was about to shoot, Luo Zheng's sharp senses detected the target's body tilt and swiftly roll to the side.

"Such keen intuition?" Luo Zheng was startled. The enemy had sensed his murderous intent right as it erupted, clearly a veteran and not easy to deal with. As long as the enemy didn't pursue him, Luo Zheng preferred not to provoke further encounters. Through the sniper scope, Luo Zheng watched as the opponent quickly got up and ran to the other side.

"Eh?" Luo Zheng was surprised, noticing that the enemy's running direction was to the side, which would only increase the distance between them. Could the enemy be planning a flanking maneuver? With this in mind, Luo Zheng decided to continue shooting. This ti he half-closed his eyes, concealing his killing intent, held his breath, and imagined himself as a snowflake, so as not to let even a trace of his presence leak out.

As the gun barrel followed the target's running speed in the sniper scope, Luo Zheng fixated on the opponent. In such adverse conditions, the difficulty of sniping was too great. Luo Zheng had given up on a headshot, aiming instead at the easier target of the chest, familiarizing himself with the enemy's running pattern. Too quick, too erratic, it was hard to lock on.

Having no choice, Luo Zheng abandoned accurate shooting, deciding instead to focus on intimidation. Hitting the target would be best, but frightening them would also suffice. With a relaxed mind, he entered a mysterious, ethereal state as if the swirling snowflakes no longer existed around him, and he was the bullet inside the icy barrel.

"Whoosh!" The gun fired without warning. Luo Zheng wasn't even sure how he had pulled the trigger; it felt as though all his spirit and energy were carried away with the bullet, leaving his body in a state of collapse. His eyes, through the sniper scope, witnessed the target stumble and fall to the ground. Uncertain of where the shot had landed, he was taken aback.

"Hit? No way?" Luo Zheng observed carefully in surprise, feeling his spirit return to his body and start to surge. In the sniper scope, a Black Shadow lay motionless on the ground, with snowflakes gently settling on top, obscuring life or death. Luo Zheng carefully scanned for others and found that all the people were lying still in the snow.

Luo Zheng knew the enemy used headsets to communicate with each other and could tell the situation without having to go and check. The enemy's stillness didn't necessarily an anything. Suddenly, he saw figures on his left and right charging forward, with one even firing in his direction, but the distance was too great, and the bullets drifted away halfway.

"Swoosh! Swoosh!" Luo Zheng fired at the enemies attempting to charge from both sides. Seeing the two of them lying on the ground, whether dead or alive unknown, he couldn't be bothered to care. As long as the enemies didn't charge him, they could do whatever they wanted. Luo Zheng would have it no other way. After searching around, he didn't see any enemies getting up to charge him through the sniper scope and let out a sigh of relief.

He waited a bit longer, and the enemies suddenly opened fire. A barrage of bullets whistled towards him. Even though their accuracy was limited, the sheer volu was daunting, and a stray bullet could still kill. Luo Zheng didn't dare to take the risk. Grabbing his weapon, he turned and ran like mad, covering several hundred ters before spotting a low hill ahead. With a leap, he vaulted over and, tilting his body, collapsed onto the ground behind the hill, swiftly setting up his sniper rifle.

After a while, no one seed to be following him. Confused, Luo Zheng still waited patiently. Several more minutes passed, still no sign of pursuers. Under the moonlight, visibility across the snowfield was extrely low, plus the fluttering snowflakes made it even harder to see. If it weren't for the SVD sniper rifle equipped with an optical sight, he wouldn't have been able to see that far.

In the anti, the snow had completely covered Luo Zheng, and with his white camouflage, no one could spot him lying in wait under the hill. Ten minutes later, there was still no movent ahead. Luo Zheng began to wonder. Could it be the enemy wasn't pursuing him anymore? That didn't make sense.

He waited a bit longer, and still, through the sniper scope, he found no suspicious targets coming after him. This surprised Luo Zheng. He speculated whether perhaps the one he had taken down was their leader. Was he really that lucky? Luo Zheng mused randomly, to keep his thoughts from freezing in the wretched cold.

Still uneasy, he waited for a while longer. Seeing no abnormalities, Luo Zheng grabbed his gun and started running. More than an hour had passed, and Ghost Team had gone quite a distance. There was no reason to stay here any longer. Running, Luo Zheng occasionally glanced back but, seeing no suspicious figures, he sped up and began to sprint.

After two hours of frantic running and no sign of pursuers behind him, he spotted the mbers of Ghost Team ahead. Relieved, Luo Zheng quickened his pace and dashed towards them.

Minutes later, Luo Zheng caught up with everyone. The team continued their rapid march. Two hours on, a mountain range appeared ahead, covered with tall trees cloaked in snow, a pure white scene devoid of green. Seeing this, Luo Zheng relaxed and, with a sharp glance at his teammates, said, "We should be close now. Pick up the pace and be careful. Our people might already be there. Don't fire upon them by mistake."

"Understood," everyone responded in unison.

"Yuanzi, you're fast, scout ahead, be careful. Everyone else, hang back in dispersed formation," Luo Zheng commanded. He didn't dare to continue in an offensive setup, to avoid any misinterpretation. If there were allies in the forest, they would understand this formation. To ensure no mistakes were made, Luo Zheng pulled out his phone, preparing to contact Captain Wu.

"Is this Ghost Team?" Suddenly, soone stood up in the snowfield and shouted. Everyone was startled and turned to look. The figure was draped in white camouflage, too far to discern the features, but the familiar language and friendly tone of inquiry could not be wrong. Everyone relaxed and smiled.
