The taxi driver took a detour and successfully arrived at the Military Research Institute. Upon seeing Luo Zheng, the security guard at the guardhouse imdiately opened the gate for him. The taxi stopped in the parking lot, and Luo Zheng got out, cautiously looking around to ensure there was no danger before letting Elder Lin get out of the car. He asked the taxi driver to wait montarily and escorted Elder Lin toward the office building.
At the entrance of the office building, Song Yun, with a livid face, looked at Luo Zheng and angrily said, "Kid, what was the aning of yesterday? They were all bullying , and you joined in too. Is that how you treat soone?"
Luo Zheng ignored Song Yun and took Elder Lin to the building's third-floor basent. After watching Elder Lin enter the research room, he finally breathed a sigh of relief. With Lan Xue and the others still potentially in danger outside, he felt anxious and headed outside, only to be blocked by Song Yun.
"What exactly do you an? Tell clearly today." Song Yun said, looking displeased.
"Get out of the way." Luo Zheng coldly commanded, his eyes becoming sharp. Seeing that Song Yun was unyielding and persistent, he suddenly beca furious, pushed her aside, and rushed forward. Song Yun could not withstand Luo Zheng's strength and imdiately fell to the ground. Wearing high heels, she dislocated her ankle, and in pain, she grimaced. Seeing Luo Zheng walking away, she grew even more furious.
Luo Zheng ignored Song Yun, went outside the office building, and saw the taxi approaching. He imdiately opened the door and got into the car, while shouting through his headset, "Can you hear talking? Respond." The headset was silent, without any response, so he quickly took out his phone to make a call, but no one answered.
"Shh?" Luo Zheng's face turned pale, frantic. The adjacent taxi driver kindly asked, "Are you looking for soone? What's the situation? Perhaps I can help."
"Can you find those two cars you saw before?" Luo Zheng asked.
"How difficult could that be?" The taxi driver imdiately picked up the walkie-talkie and started calling. Soon soone responded saying they had seen the car, which had been blown up and overturned sowhere. Hearing this, Luo Zheng's face changed dramatically, and he urgently urged the taxi driver to go there, all the while praying silently that nothing serious had happened.
The phone rang, "Ding-a-ling." Grabbing it, Luo Zheng saw it was Lan Xue's call and quickly answered, anxiously asking, "Elder Lin has been delivered; I am on my way. What is your situation?"
"Soone threw a grenade by the roadside, which flipped our car, but the issue is not very serious," Lan Xue hurriedly said.
Luo Zheng could tell that Lan Xue was in pain as she spoke, evidently severely injured. He was filled with urgency and loathed the aggressors deeply, yet he also felt relieved that they had used a taxi to transport Elder Lin, preventing more trouble.
Soon, the taxi arrived at the scene of the incident and pulled over. Luo Zheng, without waiting for the car to stop completely, jumped out and rushed over. He saw the two overturned cars, bottoms up and burning. The people from the cars had crawled out and were resting on the side—Lan Xue among them with abrasions on her legs, Ghost Hand's head bleeding, and Mountain Eagle sitting on the ground, his injuries unknown. Conversely, Snow Leopard seed unhard. Many bystanders gathered around, pointing and murmuring, but no one went to help.
"What happened?" Luo Zheng charged over, his face ashen.
"Here we are, all with minor issues. The ambulance is arriving soon. We underestimated the ruthlessness of our foes. They threw two grenades directly at our car while we were waiting at a red light, blowing the car into the air. There wasn't even ti to react, and the attackers have escaped. Luckily, Elder Lin wasn't in the car." Snow Leopard stepped forward to explain.
Luo Zheng looked at the burning vehicle, his expression icy. He silently turned his gaze to Lan Xue, who nodded without saying much. After surviving many dangers, they had not expected to be calculated against and nearly killed. It was a bitter pill that no one could swallow. Seeing the ambulance arriving, Luo Zheng, with a cold face, said, "I'll go check it out."
The crowd on the street dispersed, making way for the ambulance, but the road was blocked. The ambulance couldn't get through and had to stop. The dical staff jumped out of the vehicle—just a man and a woman. Luo Zheng, coldly watching the two, felt like scolding them. Several were injured, so why was there only one ambulance?
In his anger, Luo Zheng keenly noticed that the two were suspiciously avoiding his gaze, startling him and putting him on alert. He closely observed them; the man was dressed in a white coat and wore a mask, making him indiscernible, while the woman was in a nurse's uniform. Luo Zheng, with a sharp peripheral vision, noticed that the female nurse was inexplicably wearing high heels, which was unreasonable.
With the situation being abnormal, Luo Zheng stopped, covertly gave Snow Leopard a look, and quietly drew his pistol. Snow Leopard, understanding the signal, prepared for combat and pretended to casually observe the newcors. Luo Zheng saw the man's arm suddenly lift, a gun sliding out from his sleeve.
"As expected, it's a trap." Luo Zheng was shocked and didn't hesitate to fire his gun.
"Bang!" The gunshot rang out, and the bullet roared, instantly burying itself in the male doctor's arm. The short gun in his hand fell to the ground. The male doctor's expression drastically changed as he turned his head to look at Luo Zheng, who was just two ters away. Then another gunshot was heard; Luo Zheng, surprised, saw Snow Leopard had fired. Behind the male doctor, the female nurse fell backward, a huge gaping hole in her chest, as another handgun clattered to the ground.
"Ah?" The surrounding crowd imdiately scattered in panic. In these peaceful tis, who had seen such a bloody scene before? Everyone was terrified.
Luo Zheng kicked the male doctor to the ground and pounced on him like a fierce tiger, grabbing his cheeks while his other fist brutally hit the man's heart, emitting a dull thump. The man scread in pain and fainted. Luo Zheng moved his mouth and found a poison tooth inside. He quickly reached in and broke the tooth out.
During training at the base, Luo Zheng knew that Advanced Agents typically had a poison tooth for committing suicide at crucial monts to avoid falling into enemy hands and confessing under interrogation. Luo Zheng searched further, but found nothing else of value on the man. Seeing a slew of police cars approach with sirens blaring, he breathed a sigh of relief.
The police leader was still Shi Feng, the head of the major cri squad, who recognized Luo Zheng. Seeing the scene, he imdiately guessed what had happened and without asking further, he ordered his n to cordon off the area and maintain vigilance before approaching Luo Zheng, whispering, "Brother, didn't expect it was you again, what do you need to do?"
"Thanks. Clear the way imdiately, and get my people to the hospital as fast as possible," Luo Zheng quickly said.
"No problem, leave it to ," Shi Feng promptly replied, picked up the walkie-talkie, whereupon a female officer ca forward to help carry Lan Xue, while several male officers lifted Ghost Hand and Mountain Eagle onto the police van. Luo Zheng instructed Snow Leopard to assist, and the police car led the way, rushing towards the hospital.
"Brother, did you get a clear look at the perpetrator? Do you want us to intervene and check? I'll imdiately gather the surveillance footage from the vicinity for you," Shi Feng asked hurriedly after arranging everything.
"Thanks," Luo Zheng responded, looking at the male doctor coldly, "Take him to the police station, I need an interrogation room."
