City Bureau, interrogation room.
The consecutive events had infuriated Luo Zheng, especially the reckless attacks which treated the city as a battlefield and had injured Lan Xue among others. This made Luo Zheng completely enraged. Looking coldly at the handcuffed perpetrator, his icy gaze flickering with murderous intent, he said indifferently, "Kid, since you dared to attack us, you should be prepared to die. However, there are many ways to die. You can choose not to confess, but I have all the patience in the world."
"You think that's possible, huh? Bring it on, use whatever tricks you have. I warn you, I'm a foreign guest, and I have the right to see my lawyer. You can't beat to death," the other party retorted coldly, disdain filling his eyes.
"Is that so? Ninja?" Luo Zheng mocked with a sneer.
"Damn you," the other party cursed coldly, his smiling triangular eyes flashing with a sinister fierceness.
Upon hearing this, Luo Zheng knew for sure he was dealing with a ninja and instantly understood everything. Burning with rage, his face turned steely as he said, "This desk's edge is wrapped in tal, sharp enough to slice open your veins. There are no caras here, nobody will intervene. Can you guess how long it will take for all the blood in your body to drain out?"
"You?" the man's complexion changed slightly, roaring in anger.
Speaking Huaxia fluently, yet claiming to be a ninja, alright, I believe it. Only ninjas could be so utterly ruthless as to turn city streets into battlefields, without care for the lives of the innocents. A foreign guest, is that it? After you're dead, I can simply say that you killed yourself. It's quite normal for suicides to happen in interrogation rooms, right?" Luo Zheng mocked sarcastically.
The man looked at Luo Zheng coldly, his eyes full of murderous intent, his face so gloomy it seed water could drip from it. Seeing that the man remained silent, Luo Zheng grabbed him, dragged him to the desk, and pressed the man's wrist against the sharp tal corner. The man hadn't expected Luo Zheng to actually make a move without any reservations, and was totally shocked. Facing the threat of death, he struggled desperately, but with his hands cuffed, he couldn't get free.
Luo Zheng's grip was like that of a vice, firmly dragging the man's wrist towards the pointed tallic protrusion on the desk corner. With a ripping sound, blood spurted out. The man scread in horror as Luo Zheng threw him back into the chair. Luo Zheng watched as the man clutched at his wrist desperately, but to no avail as the vein was severed, and his blood stained the floor red.
The man didn't anticipate Luo Zheng's completely unorthodox approach and was utterly shocked, watching the blood gushing out, he lost his composure. Death wasn't scary; a quick end was less so. The thought of slowly watching oneself die was terrifying, and fear filled his cold eyes as he stared unwaveringly at Luo Zheng.
"You can choose to say nothing, as long as you can endure the psychological pressure, watching your blood slowly drain away until death. Tsk, tsk, such endurance isn't for the faint-hearted. If you can manage it, I'll admire you. It will also be an eye-opener for . I hope you won't disappoint ," Luo Zheng said as he sat down to the side, casually watching the man.
"Damn you!" the man cursed in a bout of mortified fury, his complexion turning pale. His eyes flickered uncertainly, unsure of what to do. He looked down at his wrist, where the blood wouldn't stop, feeling his life force slipping away and cursed in panic, "Bastard, you're torturing a suspect. I'm going to report you. Just you wait."
"Sure thing. But I hope you still have the chance to report . As for a ninja, a Japanese special agent, I'm really looking forward to your accusation. But don't you find your own actions and words ridiculous?" Luo Zheng cursed back, laughing in anger.
"Uh?" The man was taken aback, his face growing even more unsightly. As he looked at the blood spilling all over, his body started to weaken. Out of sheer panic, his heart rate sped up, which in turn increased the bleeding. Seeing this, Luo Zheng said with a sneer, "In a little while, your consciousness will scatter, your body will beco weak, and you won't be able to control your body or mind. Whatever I ask, you will reveal truthfully. Why suffer this pain?"
"Devil, bastard, damn it!" the other party cursed in terror, consciousness scattering more and more, gaze turning blurred, complexion pale as paper, body becoming frail.
"Speak, where are your accomplices? Spill it and the pain will end," Luo Zheng coldly prompted.
"They're in..." the other party paused, regaining so clarity, gritting their teeth in silence, resisting the enormous psychological pressure brought by impending death.
With a silent lant, Luo Zheng didn't lose heart. After waiting a while, he continued to coax, "Co on, let it out and you'll be free. Your mission has already failed, why persist?"
This person's consciousness was disintegrating, out of control, feeling a voice crying out from the depths of the heart, emitting hope, the hope to reveal the answer, to break free from the agony, while another voice warned against speaking. Before long, the voice of hope grew louder and ultimately dominated, and the person blurted out, "Inside our embassy."
"Right, how many are there, what are their identities? What other plans do they have?" Luo Zheng continued.
The voice seed to carry a kind of magic, enticing the other party to answer weakly, "Three more, all ninjas, the core backbone of this operation. We're just the outer ring; the plan is to force you to hide in the Military Research Institute and not co out, so as not to benefit other organizations. When the ti is right, we will steal the research results, then blow up the Military Research Institute and evacuate. Even if we don't succeed, we can't let either you or other countries benefit."
"When will the ti be right? How will you know it's the right ti?" Luo Zheng was alard by the confession and pressed on hurriedly.
"When the research results are out, we'll move. We have soone among you," the other party said weakly, their life fading, on the verge of expiring.
"Who is it?" Luo Zheng exclaid in shock, probing urgently.
"It's..." At this point, the person's head lolled, and they beca lifeless.
"Who is it?" Luo Zheng raged, rushing up to grab the collar of the person's shirt and shouting, but the other party remained motionless. No matter how much Luo Zheng shook, they were thoroughly dead. Luo Zheng helplessly dropped the body, staring blankly at the corpse, realizing the gravity of the situation. It was one thing for the ninjas to attempt a heist; it was expected that other nations would send agents to do the sa. However, he hadn't anticipated having a traitor within, complicating matters further.
The strongest fortress can crumble from within. Realizing the severity of the situation, and thinking of Lan Xue and the others still in the hospital, Luo Zheng imdiately opened the door and stepped out of the interrogation room, telling Shi Feng, who was approaching, "The person inside has committed suicide by slitting their wrists. Handle it please, I need to go to the hospital straight away."
"Okay, I'll take you," Shi Feng imdiately summoned people to deal with the body in the interrogation room, personally drove the car, and rushed with Luo Zheng to the hospital. On the way, Shi Feng saw Luo Zheng's ashen face and knew things were not going well, but held back his questions, driving attentively until they arrived at the hospital entrance, where he parked the car.
