In the cave, Luo Zheng sat quietly by the campfire, pondering his plan, his eyes slightly closed as he focused on the drizzle outside the cave. His mind was filled with the layout of the research base, and after a while, he realized that a frontal attack had no chance of success. Not to ntion the nearly a thousand enemy troops equipped with advanced weaponry, once the battle started, and the ard helicopters took off, no one could escape. To defeat the enemy, he had to deal with the enemy's ard helicopters first.
With this thought, Luo Zheng called everyone together and let Hook listen in. He drew an outline of the research base on the ground, his expression serious, and said in the international lingua franca, "The urgent task is to take out the enemy's ard helicopters. Without the helicopters, our chances of winning will increase sowhat."
"That makes sense, do you have a plan?" Lan Xue asked.
"Stealth attack," Luo Zheng continued calmly, "The mountain peaks on both sides are not far from the valley, about two thousand ters. If we can get to around one thousand ters, we would have a chance to blow up their helicopters with a sniper rifle."
"That is feasible, but the problem is, after blowing up the helicopter, we will face relentless pursuit. How do we cover our retreat?" Lan Xue continued.
"We will choose a retreat path and fill it with traps, covering a large area densely. Then, taking advantage of the chaos, we will hide and shoot at the pursuers from hiding spots, inflicting as much damage as possible on the enemy. Once the enemy is in disarray, we will quickly withdraw from the scene; the difficulty of withdrawal won't be significant," Luo Zheng explained seriously, looking towards Hook.
Hook's eyes lit up, and he imdiately nodded, saying, "The traps are on us, the route is here," pointing behind a mountain peak to the east, he added, "This area is overgrown with bushes, obstructed view, conducive for concealnt, and also very suitable for laying traps. Once the enemy falls into the traps, our n can shoot them from hiding spots."
"Are the arrows we're using coated with Poison Liquid?" Luo Zheng asked.
"Yes, they kill on contact with blood," Hook confidently said.
"Do we have any slow-acting poison? The kind that kills in two or three days, preferably contagious," Luo Zheng asked coldly, his gaze firm. For the sake of completing the mission, Luo Zheng was going all out.
Everyone looked at Luo Zheng in surprise, but no one objected. rcy towards the enemy is cruelty to oneself. As soldiers, their goal was to complete the mission, regardless of the ans or thods. Hook, having grown up in the primitive forest and witnessed many deaths, coupled with his hatred for Japan, wished for all of Japan to perish. After thinking it over, he understood the benefits of Luo Zheng's plan, his face lit up, and he turned to discuss with the others nearby.
"Brother, that's quite ruthless," Ghost Hand gave a thumbs up.
"If there really were a contagious poison, that would make the mission much easier," Snow Leopard also remarked with a sigh.
At that mont, Hook turned back, looking sowhat regretful, and said, "There's nothing contagious, but making the enemy die after two or three days is still feasible."
Luo Zheng smiled with a touch of regret, thinking to himself, if there really were such a thing, these n would have used it by now. There wouldn't be a need to wait until now. He then said, "That's still good, let them be injured. Wounded soldiers not only require care but also lower the morale of the Japanese troops, which is beneficial for us."
"Understood, we used to think only of killing them to vent our anger, using the deadliest poison without much thought. We will need so ti to prepare," Hook said earnestly.
Luo Zheng looked at the sky; the rain was still falling noisily. After a mont of deep thought, he said, "If the rain stops tomorrow afternoon, we'll depart after lunch and prepare for half a day, then launch the attack at dinner ti. How does that sound?"
"Half a day is enough to set up traps. Alright, it's settled." Hook readily agreed, and since he shared the plan with those around him, everyone got excited. So robust individuals received a few instructions from their leaders and left the cave to prepare. Luo Zheng was curious about how these people would prepare, but he didn't ask further.
With the plan initially set, Lan Xue also got everyone to start preparing by maintaining their weapons. After Luo Zheng saw Hook arrange for people to whittle arrows and took care of his own weapon, he closed his eyes to rest, reassured by the presence of these natives.
Ti gradually passed, and by the next morning, the rain had indeed lessened considerably and no longer hindered combat. After a night of preparations, the ground was covered in arrows, with elders and children saring poison on the arrows. So sturdy n lay scattered around, sleeping to gather strength for the afternoon battle.
After breakfast, Luo Zheng and others checked their weapons and packed their supplies. Luo Zheng went outside the cave and saw many natives returning, carrying bamboo tubes with unknown contents, handled with care. These people handed the bamboo tubes to the busy elders and children, then gobbled down so food and went off to sleep, looking quite exhausted.
"These people have been busy outside all night. They must have been collecting poison, I reckon. Deserving of a people who have survived in the jungle for generations, they're very familiar with the area. It seems your decision was right again," Lan Xue whispered as she approached.
"It all depends on this afternoon's actions," Luo Zheng said gravely, staring at the drizzling rain outside and feeling restless. After a mont, he added, "After today's battle, I believe the enemy's morale will plumt. We should seize the opportunity to launch a few more attacks. Hopefully, we'll have enough ti."
"Hopefully," Lan Xue said with a worried expression.
After chatting for a while and seeing that everyone who collected poison had returned, they began applying the poison to the nurous arrows. Thankfully, everyone was well-practiced, and those who had awoken ca to help, so the process wasn't slow.
By noon, everything was ready, and the arrows were distributed among the group. Luo Zheng received a quiver made from a bamboo tube, the joints of which were cleared, and it could hold about thirty arrows without much problem. Seeing everyone tying the quivers to their backs, Luo Zheng did the sa.
Once everyone was ready, Luo Zheng gave the command, and they left the cave, heading towards their research base, a formidable group. He had Mountain Eagle scout ahead while Hook chatted briefly with the group before telling Luo Zheng, "Lang Sen is good at running and scouting. He'll assist."
Luo Zheng nodded noncommittally; an extra person ant extra security. Soon, he saw a robust man with three others sprinting forward, barefoot, fast as a leopard, quickly catching up to Mountain Eagle, and they disappeared into the dense forest, leaving no trace.
"Don't worry, Lang Sen's tracking ability is the best among us; no one can escape his eyes. Together with your brother, there shouldn't be a problem. To be safe, however, we suggest sending so people to flank them on both sides just in case. What do you think?" Hook comforted and proposed.
"Oh?" Luo Zheng was impressed by their caution, stealing a glance at Hook, who had, in a mont of thrill the night before, nearly led them to discovery and possibly death. After thinking it over, he responded, "Alright, tell everyone to be careful. If they spot the enemy, they shouldn't act rashly but report back imdiately."
