Behind him, the voices of his pursuers were loud, and their powerful flashlights shone through the darkness. His tiger-like eyes narrowed, and a cold smile played on his lips, confident that once he escaped the encampnt into the forest, he could shake off his pursuers.
"Da-da-da!" Gunfire erupted again, the bullets looking particularly sinister in the night. Luo Zheng swiftly took out his night vision device from his backpack, put it on, and turned to run. He dived deep into the forest in just a few leaps and bounds, heading towards a slope. Without illumination, it was impossible to run in the tropical forest during the darkest monts before dawn.
