The black night, the dark camp, gunfire everywhere, raucous chaos. There were frequent, piercing screams and loud shouting as people tried to organize a coordinated counterattack, but the noise and explosions quickly overwheld them. Rooms burst into flas, illuminating the surroundings and bringing light but causing even greater panic. Suddenly, a small car with its headlights on dazzled many people, making it hard for them to see. Then, a machine gun roared to life, its ferocious bullets mowing down rows of people.
The car charged forward at high speed, the dense machine-gun fire clearing the way, with nobody daring to co near. A dozen or so people were following the car, one of them constantly directing those around him to create chaos, shooting at those nearby, and another carrying a sturdy middle-aged man who was unconscious—Luo Zheng.
It was too dark to see the way, too chaotic. Everywhere, terrified militants were losing their composure. Many had begun distrusting those around them and started fighting among themselves. In this situation, the best strategy was to rely on fierce firepower to carve a bloody path and escape in the confusion.
"Gangzi, your guys cover the rear, and my people will take care of the flanks," Shi Qingshan grabbed Zhou Gang, who was intensely firing at surrounding militants, and shouted. Luo Zheng figured it must have been his own n ambushing the cabin and being driven back. It was dark, people were retreating; too much was happening to worry about that now. As he saw many shooting at the car, his face went cold, and then he heard Shi Qingshan order, "Quick, set up the other machine gun!"
"Yes!" A robust man responded loudly, rushing forward, flinging open the car door, diving inside. He smashed the window with his gun barrel, stuck the muzzle out, and began firing fiercely. The machine guns, one on each side, mowed down the ard militants running towards them.
Then a few people charged over quickly. Everyone noticed the white towels around their necks, recognized them as their own, and let them pass. These n reached the main road and then opened fire on the advancing militants. One of them held a machine gun and howled as he fired, his bullets roaring out of the barrel and knocking down all who tried to block their way.
Relieved, Luo Zheng kept running forward with the crowd, and soon they neared the fourth checkpoint. The checkpoint was set up in the middle of the road, with sandbags on both sides for cars to maneuver around. About a dozen bodies lay haphazardly on the sandbags. Just as everyone prepared to rush past, approximately thirty people suddenly burst from an angle and rapidly took over the sandbag position, responding with gunfire. Bullets hit the car, clanging loudly.
The enemy's fire was fierce, forcing the advancing car to slow down. The three machine guns imdiately fired back, pinning down those hidden behind the sandbags and preventing them from returning fire. The car continued to push forward, providing cover for everyone, but it could not speed up for fear that the ruthless militants would throw grenades.
The ard militants were so suppressed by the dense machine gun fire that they couldn't raise their heads. A few warriors hidden behind a vehicle charged up, and several hand grenades were quickly thrown into the sandbag position, boom boom, several explosions rang out, and the indiscriminately flying shrapnel burrowed into human flesh. The powerful shockwave flung people into the air, and as they were lifted high, they were instantly torn apart by machine gun bullets. Their bodies, shredded into pieces, fell to the ground, and their blood sprayed all around, creating an extre spectacle of terror.
"Charge, charge up, quick!" Shi Qingshan shouted his order. Ti was life, and if they couldn't retreat before the enemy had a chance to react to their confusion, everyone would be in a lot of trouble.
