"Xue Er, any ideas?" Luo Zheng fired with precision while shouting out loudly. There were quite a few hijackers, and though they could be temporarily suppressed, it was not a long-term solution. They needed to quickly figure out a solution. Suddenly, a huge explosion sounded, shaking the entire cruise ship as if it were trembling. Luo Zheng was shocked, wondering if Ghost Hand or the Reincarnation Killer Organization was counterattacking.
"Tat tat tat!" The gunfire outside grew denser, forcing Luo Zheng and Lan Xue to step back a few paces. Fortunately, there was a two-ter long curved corridor leading to the cockpit, making it difficult for bullets to hit them from the side. Additionally, the hijackers were wary of the pair's firearms and accurate shooting, not daring to charge head-on.
After a standoff where neither side could gain the upper hand, the attack outside suddenly stopped. Luo Zheng and Lan Xue shared a look of surprised suspicion, and then saw sothing thrown in, rolling on the ground, making a thumping noise.
"Damn, a grenade." Lan Xue was startled and, instead of retreating, advanced forward, kicked the grenade away with a swift motion, and then dashed back. The grenade exploded midair with a loud bang. Shrapnel flew in all directions, piercing the surrounding tal bulkheads and producing a sharp "du-du" sound, the montum was terrifying.
Luo Zheng never expected Lan Xue to rush out and kick the grenade away and was deeply startled. He also threw himself forward, just as Lan Xue was vaulting back. They collided, and Luo Zheng instinctively pinned Lan Xue to the ground, covering her head with his hands, his heart racing with anxiety.
The explosion quickly subsided, and before Luo Zheng and Lan Xue had a chance to get up, they heard the sounds of two more grenades hitting the ground. Lan Xue grabbed Luo Zheng tightly, pushed off the ground, and they rolled swiftly toward the cockpit while shrapnel flew wildly, striking the bulkheads with a crisp clang, driving one to desperation.
Fortunately, the curved corridor provided cover, preventing the shrapnel from flying into the cockpit. Several more grenades were thrown in, blasting the passageway into an unrecognizable ss, leaving it looking like a gaping, torn hole.
Lan Xue and Luo Zheng exchanged a look, seeing both surprise and anger in each other's eyes from surviving the ordeal. They quickly opened fire shooting into the corridor, to prevent the hijackers from taking the opportunity to rush in. Outside, the gunfire intensified as well, each side shooting relentlessly—one side fighting to stay alive, the other for profit, as the fight beca fiercely intense.
In the midst of the battle, Luo Zheng noticed that the cockpit was very well-sealed, and there was only one passage out. There was no second route available. It seed they would have to fight it out. Lan Xue also looked serious, continuously aiming and shooting outside. As for the pilots, they had long since taken cover on either side.
The hijackers continued their fierce onslaught outside, and the situation was getting graver. The passageway had been blasted substantially wider. A few more rounds of grenades would flatten it completely. Then, without any cover, their deaths would be certain.
Luo Zheng watched another grenade being thrown over. His eyes narrowed fiercely, rage seeming to spit fire from his eyes. These brazen hijackers infuriated him. He raised his hand in anger and fired a shot. He had no idea if he could hit the target, but it was worth a try.
With a loud "boom!" the grenade exploded just outside the corridor, sending shrapnel flying everywhere, accompanied by several screams of agony, evidently from being hit by the shrapnel.
Luo Zheng was startled, but then overjoyed, not expecting to unwittingly stumble upon dead prey. His spirits lifted, he cald down, not daring to be careless, and continued to watch the front while holding the gun level, ready to shoot at any mont. After a while, aside from a chaotic burst of gunfire, there were no more grenades seen. More ti passed, and the gunfire beca increasingly sparse. Luo Zheng observed curiously for a while, then looked towards Lan Xue.
Suddenly, the gunfire outside ceased. Neither person dared to stick their heads out, worried it might be a trick by the hijackers. However, distant sounds of gunfire and explosions continued to reach them. They waited a bit longer, and the outside remained eerily quiet. Lan Xue picked up a piece of tal and threw it outside, which clanged, but to her surprise, it was not t with the expected gunfire, and she looked at Luo Zheng in confusion.
Luo Zheng also felt like there was no one outside and gave Lan Xue a hand signal for her to cover him while he cautiously moved forward. Lan Xue, worried about Luo Zheng's safety, also dashed out, closely following him, ready to rescue Luo Zheng at any mont, sweeping the gun left and right, highly vigilant. Unfortunately, they couldn't find any targets.
The two of them reached the corridor but didn't see any hijackers; instead, they found several hijacker corpses on the ground. They were baffled. Lan Xue approached the door and saw many people on the deck starting to panic, many running towards the cabins, but the hijackers had vanished without a trace.
"They ran?" Luo Zheng was shocked, then imdiately furious, shouting, "Xue Er, chase."
"Okay," Lan Xue responded clearly, as both of them dashed toward the deck. The tourists, seeing the guns in their hands and their fierce appearances, scattered to make way for them, looking at them with surprise and suspicion.
Luo Zheng ignored these passengers. When he reached the deck, he saw three speedboats already hundreds of ters away, with the hijackers and others aboard. The last one had just started and was surging forward. Luo Zheng panicked and suddenly spotted a large coil of rope nearby. Grabbing one end, he said to Lan Xue, "Xue Er, the other end is yours to handle."
"Understood," Lan Xue said.
Luo Zheng didn't hesitate, grabbed the rope, and rushed forward. When he reached the edge, he pushed off forcefully and, with a loud shout, soared into the air like a big bird from the deck down towards the sea. Lan Xue quickly tied the other end to a tal pole. Peering over, she saw Luo Zheng had landed steadily on the back of the hijacker's speedboat. As the nurous hijackers aid their guns at him, her face paled, and she jumped straight into the sea.
"Ha!" On the speedboat, Luo Zheng glared coldly at the hijackers turning their guns towards him and roared furiously. Like a raging tiger, he whipped the rope he held at the approaching hijackers knocking several of them down. The speedboat, moving swiftly ahead and rocking side to side, made it impossible for the people aboard to stand steadily and attack Luo Zheng. Taking advantage of this, Luo Zheng quickly secured the rope to what appeared to be a sturdy tal pole.
With the rope taut, Luo Zheng breathed a sigh of relief, but suddenly felt a gust of wind and instinctively rolled to the side to dodge. In the midst of the chaos, he saw an attacking hijacker about to strike him. As Luo Zheng prepared to counterattack and kill the assailant, the rope pulled taut, and the trendous tension flung the hijacker near the rope far away with a scream.
"Boom!" The railing broke with a thunderous noise, and the back end of the speedboat fell apart. The powerful dragging force caused the speedboat to soar into the air, as high as five or six ters, before crashing heavily onto the sea surface, creating massive waves. It spun and nearly capsized. Luo Zheng clung tightly to a handrail; his body flailed like a willow leaf in the wind, swaying wildly, at risk of being thrown off at any mont.
