The pale icy world lay in deathly silence, as the wind gently blew, swirling a few smiling snowflakes into a dance before they quickly fell back down, lying still on the ground. A ray of sunlight burst from the horizon, tearing through the gray sky and adding a touch of vitality to this icy world. High up on the mountain ridge, a team was spread out, slowly moving forward, with the lead person ard to the teeth and draped in white camouflage, their features indistinct, maintaining about a hundred ters from the person behind.

This person rushed ahead a few steps and then suddenly stopped, calmly observing the surroundings. In a while, soone hurried past them, moving forward about a hundred ters before stopping too, crouching on the ground, raising their gun and constantly moving the sniper scope, searching the surroundings without missing a detail.

The sniper rifle was wrapped with white cloth, wound with a thick layer, which not only protected the gun but also served as camouflage. All these were valuable experiences of snow combat. The two took turns covering each other as they moved forward, while the rest followed at a distance of a hundred ters, proceeding with equal caution.

Twenty minutes later, the lead pathfinder reached a position about a kiloter from the slope and concealed themselves on the spot. Their white camouflage blended them with the surrounding snow as if they had vanished into thin air, utterly undetectable. Luo Zheng, observing everything from within a snow cave, had a more solemn expression on his face and spoke in a subdued voice, "They're coming, probing for a reconnaissance. Everyone must hold on and not fire."

All touched their earpieces, and Luo Zheng heard the rustling sound. He took a deep breath, letting the icy air fill his trachea and lungs, stimulating his nerves and making his brain a bit more alert. He shook his head vigorously and shifted his body to find a more comfortable position to continue observing.

Before long, an enemy advanced tentatively forward, stopping about eight hundred ters from where everyone's original snow cave had been. Everyone else lay down motionless behind him. Luo Zheng swiftly moved the sniper scope to scan the area, but saw no enemies in the distance. Startled, he took out an infrared thermal imaging scope and only then noticed the targets lying low on the ground, quietly letting out a sigh of relief and whispered, "Switch to infrared thermal imaging scopes."

Luo Zheng believed the enemy also had infrared thermal imaging scopes, but everyone was hiding inside snow caves, which provided excellent concealnt in snow and were not easily picked up by thermal imaging. He continued to watch from the snow cave, staying still for a while longer, until he saw an enemy dashing from behind, surpassing the man ahead and sprinting towards the snow cave.

"What a pity." Luo Zheng observed that the enemy had sent only one man to check the snow cave; even if a trap was triggered, it would only kill one person, and he couldn't help but sigh. However, he was not discouraged, knowing the opponent was Snow Bear, realizing that killing even one was a difficult feat. He continued to search for the enemy ahead, keeping his breath in check to avoid alarming the enemy with any murderous aura.

"The enemy has passed, should we follow?" Ghost Hand's voice ca through the earpiece.

"Don't move yet," Luo Zheng said quietly.

After waiting for a while, Luo Zheng saw the person who had charged up stop about twenty ters from the snow cave. Then two more people rushed from behind, hiding at an eight hundred-ter distance, setting up their sniper rifles. Shortly after, one of them fired at the snow cave.

"Bang, bang!" Two gunshots broke the icy world's silence, the bullets piercing into the snow cave, vanishing without a sound. There were no screams, no one rushing out; the man alertly signaled to his comrades for fire cover, and continued moving forward, reaching about ten ters away, where he pulled out a grenade and swiftly threw it.

The grenade fell on the Snow Cave, and with a "boom," snow clumps splattered everywhere, and the smoke from the explosion spread. Seeing that there was still no movent from inside the Snow Cave, the man walked forward.

Luo Zheng watched this scene unfold and let out a cold laugh. This group had certainly beco wiser, sending one man to check while two snipers hid eight hundred ters away providing covering fire. If there were anyone in the Snow Cave, they would have been decimated by the snipers. It was a very good tactical arrangent. Watching the enemy cautiously crawl forward, Luo Zheng sneered.

"Boom!" A loud explosion echoed, and through the sniper scope, Luo Zheng saw the man blasted into the air, his body instantly dismbered. Limbs and flesh flew chaotically, staining the ground red with blood and scattering viscera all over, creating a particularly eerie sight against the pale snow.

This all happened too suddenly. The two snipers stared fixedly at the scene, stunned. It was the perfect opportunity to snipe. Lan Xue asked in a low voice, "Shall we take out those two snipers first?"

"No rush, let's wait a bit longer," Luo Zheng said in a lowered voice, his heart pounding with excitent. At last, he had gained so retribution, unleashed so of his fury. He put down his rifle and picked up his binoculars to observe. The enemy was very cautious, firing test shots and using grenades to bomb the area. After discovering no one was in the Snow Cave, their vigilance dropped significantly, clearly not expecting a trap five ters away from the cave. With the surroundings all covered in snow, the camouflage was excellent, and the trap was successful.

People always think habitually: the first ti encountering a Snow Cave with no one inside, the trap must be in the cave itself. The second ti encountering one, seeing no one inside, they assu that even if there is a trap, it would be inside the Snow Cave or nearby. Who would have thought that the trap was set five ters away? Plus, with the surrounding snow providing great concealnt, the trap was effective.

Luo Zheng saw the two snipers had changed to a hiding spot behind a slope where he couldn't snipe them, missing an opportunity. However, Luo Zheng did not regret it and chose to continue waiting. In such a situation, it was the enemy who was anxious, not himself. To hunt fierce prey, one had to be more patient than the prey.

On the battlefield, the one who loses their calm dies first—cruel but real. Luo Zheng watched the area ahead with a cold gaze. By now, the sun had risen, and a myriad of golden rays penetrated the gloomy clouds, casting their warmth and vitality on the snowy mountains, adding a touch of warmth and life to this icy world.

The ice and snow reflected sunlight, creating illusions that were not conducive to aiming. Luo Zheng was in no hurry, patiently waiting. After about ten minutes, another enemy rushed towards the Snow Cave. Stopping ten ters away, he carefully checked the ground and slowly started to crawl forward, clearly intending to collect his comrade's remains.

Soon, the man unearthed a grenade from the ground, and upon realizing it was from his own country, his expression turned exceedingly grim. He carefully removed the string attached to the pin and followed the string to find another grenade. After reporting the situation through his headset and waiting a while, the man continued to crawl forward.

Luo Zheng calmly observed these developnts. Seeing the enemy begin to collect the remains and obviously having deep comradeship, not wishing to leave a comrade's body in the wilderness of the snow-covered mountains, an idea flashed in his mind, and he ford a plan. He spoke in a low voice, "Mountain Eagle, target the enemy near the Snow Cave. Rember, do not kill—wound them, that's enough. I want to use him as bait. Xue Er, team up with to deal with those two snipers on the slope."
