"Are you for real?" Greg mumbled. The city that they were in had nurous problems, the disappearance of people being just one of them. However, if Magmorious really was the source of the AI’s rogue nature, it would be devastating news.
With such a colossal population, the problems the city faced every single day were simply astronomical. That, coupled with the large surface area of the capital, ant that even if they arrived with undeniable proof that below them was a lab conducting human experints, it would take a long ti for sothing to be done about it.
"Just great..." Aisha’s shoulders slumped as she took Michael’s words to heart. She believed him without hesitation. After all, he was a Master, and Richard, who was a Grandmaster, followed him. If powerless soldiers had made the sa claim, no one would have listened, but Michael’s power made Aisha trust him.
"First of all, thank you for sharing this information. Even if the populace aren’t going to be happy, I will impose a temporary ban on androids acting as escorts. In addition, I will form teams with the sole purpose of searching for infected androids." Aisha exclaid, her gaze dropping lower.
"A man with such a formidable physique, despite his young age, could have attained it only by being reckless. Let guess... You plan to depart towards the capital?"
In response, Michael’s lips curled into a warm smile. "You have sharp eyes."
With a scoff, Aisha reached below her desk, retrieving a black envelope with a crimson seal.
"This is the most valuable thing I can offer you as my appreciation." She smiled. "Once you reach Magmorious, search for my sister and give her this. Thanks to being pretty high in the political world, she should be able to aid you."
Michael arched an eyebrow. "Great and all, but the capital is supposed to be massive. How would we know that we have found her?"
With a giggle, Aisha gestured to her attire. "We two have similar styles. It wouldn’t be hard to find a politician dressed like ."
Since this was going to be the first ti Michael explores Magmorious in his two lives, he didn’t shy away from asking questions to reduce the unpredictability factor. Fortunately, Aisha didn’t hesitate to answer all of his questions, still feeling in debt to him.
While this was ongoing, Alia finally had returned with Cyberfang by her side. The modification for the tallic beast was finally completed.
Sadly, however, unlike what she had expected, she wasn’t happy in the slightest. On her journey searching for the most suitable chanic, an android had tried to get its nasty hands on the tallic beast.
Fortunately, thanks to Michael’s Bypasser technique, Cyberfang had been dosticated in a way that made it immune to infection. This allowed it to rip the android apart, reducing it to a simple lump of tal.
"Who would think that my short separation from the team would pan out like this?" She mumbled, a rare trace of tension visible on her face.
Since before she had departed, she knew where Michael’s room was located, she headed straight there.
Clump!
"Michael?"
Regardless of how loudly she knocked, however, there wasn’t a response from the other side. Not willing to waste valuable ti, Alia picked the lock on the door, entering.
"Hm?"
The mont she did, an unusual sight greeted her. A woman lay on Michael’s bed, awakened by the early banging on the door. What caused Alia to freeze in place, however, were the catlike ears on the top of her head and the fuzzy tail trailing behind her.
Fortunately Victoria, who had been lingering close, noticed Alia and swiftly filled her in on what she had missed.
"Gods seriously? I am gone for a few days at most, and you went to uncover that a large AI rebellion kidnaps people and experints on them?"
By now, aside from Victoria, Ava and Claire had joined them.
"What can I say?" Ava shrugged. "Wherever Michael goes, trouble inevitably follows. Almost as if he knew it would happen beforehand and arrived to deal with the aftermath."
"If you are here, then I take it Cyberfang has been transford?" Claire asked, her eyes sparking with anticipation. Famous as the White Angel thanks to her cha skills, she couldn’t wait to see the transformation of the tallic beast.
With a deep breath, Alia cald her heart, gesturing to follow. "It will be better to witness it with your own eyes."
"Wait... before we go." Ava called out, studying Ruby.
"Let’s take her with us. I doubt she would want to sleep more, and leaving her locked here isn’t right!"
Ruby shook her head stubbornly. "Please no! I have caused you more trouble than I am worth. Don’t think too much about !"
With a frown, Ava took hold of her hand.
"Don’t you dare say you are trouble! Now co on, let’s go!"
Because the other girls backed up Ava, Ruby wasn’t able to argue for long. Concealing her ears and tail with a hood, they went outside, where Cyberfang was waiting.
"Hasn’t he beco a thing of beauty?" Alia remarked, Claire nodding in agreent.
Because they weren’t on Neptune anymore, the heating generator had been replaced with a cooling system that was able to cool down the surroundings.
While Alia went into details about how it worked, Ruby and Cyberfang exchanged a long stare.
At first she felt reluctant to get near, because Cyberfang was still an AI. However, after being reassured that it followed Michael, Ruby steadied herself and got near.
"..."
After a few seconds of observing, she tilted her head to the left, Cyberfang mirroring her gesture, tilting its tallic head to the right.
In turn, Ruby tilted her head to the other side, Cyberfang following suit.
Hesitantly, Ruby got even closer. After seeing Cyberfang remain in one spot, she cautiously climbed aboard, rising upon its tallic head.
Strangely, a sense of accomplishnt and affection filled her heart, her lips curling into a smile.
"From now on you will be my little brother!" She decided.
