What number one, Evan Hughes didn’t understand and didn’t want to.
He directly said, "Since you refuse, then see you at the police station. Do you know how much this Jade Buddha is worth? I bought it for sixty million, sixty million, enough to sentence you for two hundred years!"
Mason Monroe was montarily stunned.
Sixty million?
This Jade Buddha is actually that expensive?!
Seeing Evan Hughes directly take out his phone to call the police, leaving no rcy, Mason Monroe’s desperate eyes gradually turned sharp.
Evan Hughes probably never considered him family!
Their whole family saw him as a street rat, a disgusting cockroach, including Coralie Hughes!
The entire family, whether it’s Evan Hughes or the butlers and servants below, did not consider him a person at all!
He had enough of such days!
Mason Monroe’s eyes, originally misty, were enveloped by a burst of hostility.
He lowered his eyes and stood up, just as Evan Hughes connected the call to the police, Mason grabbed Evan’s phone and smashed it on the ground.
Evan Hughes frowned and glared at Mason Monroe, gritting his teeth and bit out a sentence, "What? Do you want to hit too?"
The bodyguards outside, hearing the commotion inside, rushed in, each looking at Mason Monroe warily, ready to act at any mont.
Mason Monroe shook his head, gave a bitter smile, and said, "Dad, although you never considered family, I always respected you as a father. How could I possibly hit you?"
Evan Hughes squinted his eyes and asked, "Then what’s the aning of smashing my phone? Have you agreed to the divorce?"
Mason Monroe nodded painfully: "If you truly believe that I am unworthy of Coralie, I am willing to divorce. I admit that I was wrong about this."
Evan Hughes looked at him suspiciously and asked, "You’re really willing to divorce and never bother Coralie again?"
"Yes..." Mason paused and said, "But, Dad, I beg you to let see Coralie one last ti. That’s my only wish, and if you agree, I promise never to appear before you again."
Evan Hughes felt slightly relieved. He didn’t really want to call the police; if he did, wouldn’t everyone know that his daughter married a thief? It would be embarrassing for him as well.
It was best if Mason Monroe could understand this.
Evan Hughes didn’t mind his broken phone, asked the bodyguards to pick up the SIM card, and then said to Mason Monroe, "Fine, I’ll give you one last chance to see her, and besides the fifty-thousand-dollar check you ntioned, I’ll give you ten thousand for travel expenses. After seeing Coralie, you should leave, and never return to Crestfall."
Mason Monroe agreed without hesitation: "Okay!"
Mason’s straightforwardness made Evan Hughes sowhat uneasy.
But he didn’t think much of it, just assuming Mason finally understood.
Evan Hughes said, "Then you go see her now, after seeing her, co back and sign the divorce papers, then you can take your ten thousand and leave."
Mason Monroe nodded and said, "Okay... but, Dad, there’s no bus stop nearby, can you lend a car?"
"Sure. Also, you should change what you call . I’m not your dad, your dad died in a car accident over ten years ago." Evan Hughes said while waving his hand, imdiately a bodyguard handed over car keys.
To be honest, every ti he heard Mason call him dad, he felt dizzy.
Mason Monroe didn’t miss the disgust on Evan Hughes’ face, he gritted his teeth, took the car keys, and walked out.
The just arrived butler brushed past Mason Monroe, looked at Mason’s back, and asked, "Master, why let him go?"
"He said he wants to see Coralie one last ti, then he’s willing to divorce, never to appear in front of us again."
The butler nodded, but a vague unease rose in his heart.
